About The Butterfly Joint and Café at The Butterfly Joint
The Butterfly Joint is a woodworking and design studio for children ages 2 years and up. The Butterfly Joint focuses on teaching children how to create beautiful wood projects from reclaimed and repurposed woods with traditional Japanese hand tools. The goal is for the students to create and walk away with an heirloom. Along with woodworking skills, The Butterfly Joint focuses on teaching children manners and personal responsibility as well as helping parents reinforce productive social and emotional behaviors for their children. AND we have a friendly, neighborhood walk-up café serving Red Bay drip coffee, espresso drinks, specialty non-coffee lattes, teas and treats from Devil's Teeth Bakery!
Had an amazing savory vegan pie, along with a coffee drink. Some of the best food and drink I have ever had! The pies are from an Egyptian restaurant down the block, and the donuts are made in house everyday! Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town. Also extremely reasonably priced!

Cute neighborhood, hole in the wall spot. Close to the park and beach—great for a quick snack. Few small benches outside. Friendly staff. Excellent vegan Lebanese hand pie (fresh and spicy) and saffron and turmeric latte.

Truly the biggest gem in the Outer Richmond. Delicious vegan and regular donuts, hand pies, and coffee roasted in house. Danny and Erin are also just delightful and create space for people of all ages.
