Came by to support local business during a street fair and was served up with unsafe food, rude service from a manager and some differential treatment likely based on demographics. We came up to the street booth and ordered chicken skewers and tried to pay for the organic produce, but needed to pay by card. We were escorted inside by the manager (a Caucasian woman, pregnant, likely in her 30s) who announced loudly to all in line and to the cashier "they haven't paid yet" despite us already being at the back of the line. She was very huggy and warm with other customers, so not a bad day. The cashier didn't even know how to use pricing for the street event (and the manager didn't know the pricing!). No apologies, just seemed irritated and likely because I didn't fit the richer, white demographic this business seems to target. The chicken skewers were lukewarm and undercooked, clearly microwaved and likely unsafe to eat, so we threw it away. It's really uncool to try to support a local business to be shut down for what likely had to do with me not fitting the demographic/elitism. PS: I tried writing them on their website - no such luck, but found that they're looking for staff and managers in every department, so lack of any clear leadership is obvious

Best place to shop in this area. Never a crowd and great quality selection. Boutique grocery items as well, that you will not find at Safeway nor Whole Foods.

Small, well stocked, friendly. Crazy well stocked given the size, less expensive than whole paycheck and much higher quality everything than a corner store. The produce is always excellent. If you can't find a thing just ask, there are weird little shelves and niches everywhere.

I was having a particularly difficult day. I have been betrayed by my old employers. They did not pay me many months, they didn't keep good records (I had to reconstruct everything which took me a year). They took money from my retirement contributions. So far they are choosing not to solve the numerous issues and ignore my attempts to right the situation- it has been a year. I am having to move as a result though I welcome the change. I was going to have to do paperwork on the case during precious family time and dropped the box all the paperwork got disorganized when it fell. I took this as a sign to leave that alone for the weekend despite a deadline I had. I am leaving to a different side of the country far from my family. I was already distraught by the financial strain I was experiencing. I have my own healing business and care for many people so this has been hard to maintain my business from such a deficit of so many unpaid months of pay that I earned. It has created so many frustrations beyond this. I do have Grace in my life and have been born with many gifts that will provide for me. I went to The Good Life to buy flowers and items for my sister who had invited me to come for Thanksgiving. I was so low that I sat in my car out front and cried my eyes out. Kayren the owner noticed, came out and held my hand to supported me. I am an independent person and am in the business of helping people all over the world with both physical and emotional issues. I do not always experience support for me as a result of my own role. People in my life tend to count on me for support. She was so incredibly kind to me and asked if I'd like a coke for my drive. She went to get one. She then came back out with a beautiful bouquet too. She sad I must keep it for me and not give it away. I have always loved this health food store. I appreciate the warmness of the environment. I have shopped here for 25 years. Just want to let people know the kindness of the founder. I know everyone around here loves this place and a review is not necessary for their success. I am inspired by this much needed nurturing that I was the fortunate recipient of. I felt almost as if if I could no longer go on at that moment and I am incredibly strong. Let this be a reminder to all of us the power of spreading kindness!

Constantly- changing inventory, so don't get too attached to anything. Do NOT put your produce in baskets or shopping carts where dogs are allowed to ride while staff ignore it. True service dogs would NEVER be in a shopping cart, and it's against health code. I love dogs, but NOT near my groceries!
