I rented here twice. Instead of giving me the car I reserved, they upgraded it on their own and charged me more. Be careful because it forces you to upgrade. I didn't get scammed because I checked right away. The employees here are scammers. Also, be careful because if you choose supplies, choose, you will drive an electric carBetter pay more. Using the other rent car company option is better to avoid problems

We had the best experience with Shayna! She helped us find the perfect car, took her time and was super friendly. We felt that we were in good hands. All in all it was a very good experience.

Shayna was beyond amazing! She was beyond helpful and knowledgeable when I picked up the car, she even gave me suggestions on what to do since I only had the car for 24 hours. I felt as if her customer service went above and beyond esp. since I was rushing to catch a flight at 7am when they opened when returning my car the next day. I would def recommend people going to this location, it is also super affordable.

Wish I could give 0 stars to this company and staff.Booked a car at least 1 week before I needed, chose a convenient time to pick up the car, as they close at 3pm, and I had plans for that night. Never in my life in any other trip I had to rent a car, I had such a terrible experience. I was told there was no car available, that I would have to wait around 1hr for a car to become available and I that was very lucky to not have to wait over 3 hours, as many other costumers had, then I asked what if they were closing and there was no car available yet, I was told that my booking would be cancelled. PLAN WITH PLENTY OF TIME, because they do NOT care about your plans and pickup time. When I finally picked up the car I drove to my hotel which was not even 2 miles away, I noticed the gas meter went down, as a person whom drives everyday, we know that with a full gas tank the meter would move with just 2 miles. Long story short, I complained the tank wasn't completely full when I picked up the car and the employee said a lot off nonsense stuff trying to explain the difference. C'mon. Also, when I drop off the car, no one was there to check the car, so I went upstairs and gave the key, this same employee said I had to go downstairs again and I had to look for the guys who check the car. SMH.Would NOT recommend this place.

The agent convinced me to take an electric vehicle (which I did not want) by telling me I could return it with a low battery. I had him confirm I could return it with any battery percentage. He didn’t mention I’d be dinged $35 for returning it with less than a 70% charge!I’m still not sure what their EV policy is: At the return location, I was told the fee applies if the battery is less than 80%, while the online customer success agent said 70%. No one can even tell me what the exact policy is! What a scam, I’m never using Thrifty again

I strongly recommend everyone to go somewhere else. Better not rent your car from thrifty O’farrell st. Their customer service was extremely rude, you have to wait for long line but staff didn’t care, the price what they showed me online was huge scam, the car was very old and poor maintained. The fuel was not even full at the start but they required me to return the car with full fuel. I found many garbage and food what previous people left inside the car. Side mirrors and back window were invisible because of dirt. They didn’t open the office on time in the morning so I waited for 20mins freezing outside with other customers to return the car. Of course they didn’t apologise for that. Just excused and be rude to us. Nothing satisfaction from this company. I don’t even want to give 1 star. Worst customer service ever. I should have believed people’s terrible reviews and rate about them.

Worse experience ever. Waited in line to GET the car and then come to find out, they didn't have cars available for any of the renters. They were so far behind in getting the cars to people, some of them said I'm out. So that took another hour of my day. Mind you, we've been flying since early morning to Honolulu and then to spend the rest of my afternoon waiting for a car. I flew in at 11 and I didn't leave the airport until almost 4 in the afternoon!!! And then on top of that, I get home and my deposit for the car hasn't been put back on my card. I've been home for 6 weeks. WTF. Never have I had this happen. The deposit on my last rental was in my account the very next day. They gotta beef up their shit

This place is a huge scam. We are from Canada and traveled to SF for a vacation and rented a car from them. All of my email confirmation stated that the charges would be in CAD dollars. I looked at my Visa after the statement was posted, and they charged me in USD. The difference is over $100I've tried contacting customer support multiple times and they refuse to do anything.To make matters worse, we also had to wait an hour for our car to be ready even though we reserved it for a specific time. The hour wait meant we lost out on an event we had scheduled.

Had a reservation, when we arrived there was no car available. The Room was already full of people with an similar issue.We were asked to come back after an hour. After this still no car and they asked to wait another 4 til 6 hours. At the counter they said its easy to get an refund if we want to cancel, but they told us they cant do it, so we had to write an email to the Customer support. We had to go to the Airport and rent another car to make our appontment in time and wrote the Email to the customer support. After three weeks still no refund. So in summary: no car, unfriendly, not willig to help out of a situation which was their fault. Looks like a fraud company. Never ever again i will rent a car at Thrifty or Hertz.

Worst experience. Had a confirmed reservation, came to pick up the car and they told us they are sold out and we need to be put on the waitlist with at least 2 hours wait time. We have an appointment and need a car now, not in 2 hours. Many other people experienced the same at the same time, which means they overbooked crazy. Now we need to search for another car ASAP. No excuse from their side, seems to be common practice. Nice thank you,will never come again.

Avoid Thrifty!!At Thrifty Car Rental, I faced a 90-minute wait due to slow processing. The reserved car wasn't ready, and I was given an electric car without a clear wait time for its availability. I had ordered a non EV car. Given this experience, I will seek alternative rental options in the future.If you never rented an EV before... It's complicated. You have to find a working charger, download different apps, charging connectors. Charging to full takes 60-90 minutes on a fast charger. EV charging is badly organized and complicated. Never again.Thrift saying this is a lie!***We're always striving to improve and as a result, we will forward this to local management for review. ***The previous reviews were very similar to my experience and nothing has changed!

1 Star is generous. From what I’ve been told my experience is not unique, and they commonly conduct business this way. My recommendation would be to go anywhere else.I made a reservation for a car before out of town. Upon arriving early, and then waiting for 45 minutes in line after my pickup time, I was told they ran out of cars and only had a couple EV’s left. However, they do not know how charged the cars are, and do not have charging on site! For where I was traveling to, the EV charging infrastructure is not up-to-date enough for using one to make sense on this trip. I had made a reservation for a gas car for a reason. So after delaying my departure significantly, I had to cancel and scramble to find another car (Enterprise, which is a few doors down, was AMAZING and saved the day). Even after this, I went online out of curiosity and they were accepting reservations for vehicles that they do not have. Every single person in line was screwed and I was told that they do this regularly. Unless they get it together soon, DO NOT RENT HERE.

Avoid booking rental cars for collection at this office at all costs. We paid in advance to collect at 10am. We got there at 9:15am and watched the the asst and manager aggravate / upset each customer and it was packed. We were told that we would have to wait 2 hours to collect our car that was booked at 10am so explained this and that we are on holiday from the UK and meeting friends but they did not care or try to resolve and said it’s the same for everyone. The manager was awful, or process and see he , did not care and experienced the worse service in a country where they expect service. He would not even tell us who to escalate or complain to and said complaint to who you want. Escalated via FB messenger and they were unhelpful. Avoid at all costs.
