May open at 7AM, but blood draws don't begin until 7:30AM and they have one person drawing blood, so expect to wait unless you work for UCSF, then they will take you before non UCSF workers, regardless of when others have come in.

It's my go to for lab work even though I live in Novato. Their system is smooth, they have enough staffing. No appointment needed, it can be busy but not so much that you are there that long. Big plus is that UCSF has your information in their system already and you get the results in "my chart" app as soon as it is in. Their hours are very good too.

Easy access and fast service. I recommend this place for sure, for medical drs, lab, and MRI/CT. Results are quick, but depending on the time frame.

I cannot express my gratitude to the phlebotomists at this location. I have an extreme phobia of needles and it is nice to see that the staff here actually take the time to make it as easy for me as possible (unlike other locations where they make me feel unheard and are rude and dismissive towards me and my anxiety).I have been going to this location since 2006, and do not trust anyone else except for Natalie, Fay, and Elissa to draw my blood. These ladies are so kind and understanding. They know me by now and when they see me go in, they wait for the room that has the bed that I can lay on (as I used to faint during the process). They are patient and even on occasions where I have a panic attack before they start, they allow me to take the time I need to get myself together and continue to be caring, understanding, and kind towards me. I fully understand that dealing with patients like me makes for a harder day for anyone, but they never let it show. They are always just full of words of encouragement and smiles.I am so grateful for these three ladies. Thank you for all that you do for me.They are also great at inserting the needle in such a way that I am never bruised afterwards and can’t barely even feel the actual process.

I really like UCSF but how do you have 1 phlebotomist drawing blood during peak hours? There are three locations in a big city like SF - crazy. A big hub like mt zion - 1 person.

The UCSF Blood Draw Lab at Mount Zion is awesome ALL because of employees like Felomina, Jamaan and Kevin. These 3 are EXCEPTIONAL people and stand-out employees. They all go above and beyond to provide great service. Felomina, Jamaan and Kevin are so friendly, kind, professional, smart, hard-working, helpful and all around AWESOME!!!I’m a longtime patient and love UCSF. However, on this particular day I was upset because of the way I was treated by the man in the lobby and by Monica Carrillo at the front desk. They were very rude to me, and they clearly have a lot to learn if they want to keep their jobs. However, as soon as I encountered Felomina, Jamaan and Kevin I was instantly put back in a great mood because these 3 people are so fantastic! They made everything great.THANK YOU Felomina, Jamaan and Kevin! You are SO valuable to UCSF!

UCSF Lab and blood draw location. The building is non descriptive and it’s not clear where you enter. After you find your way in your inundated with signs. Find the sign that says Pick A Number as that is step 1. From there you will be called. Step 2 is interacting with the intake representative who has no people skills. From there you wait for step 3. After about 15 minutes I was called into a room. The phlebotomist was the highlight. She was funny, friendly, and personable.UCSF has free WiFi. I would also highly recommend making a MyChart account online so you can monitor your test results. I received my results within 1 hour for some a few days for others.

I've had a great experience here. The employees are kind and office has a pretty easy simple check in process. No frills, no hassle, no appointment needed.
