Horrible bank- forget the online banking. Forget, trying to transfer any money. Every time I set it up, it authorizes, it drafts, and then it cancels and they don't know why. And they can't fix it. They have purchased a product that doesn't work, and then they blame it on the customer. Worst bank. Don't put your money there. You wouldn't go to a brain surgeon who doesn't know how to operate on would you? ?

Whatever you do, DO NOT BANK WITH THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! They are predatory especially towards older people. They inactived my retired mom's account claiming lack of activity which was not true at all. And now they have made it exceedingly difficult to close the account and retrieve her funds. DO NOT USE THIS BANK FOR ANY REASON WHATSOEVER. If you do bank with them, close your account immediately and be sure to do so in person

Stay Away From UmpQua BankWorst bank ever to do business with. Since the merger with Columbia bank, Umpqua has become the bank of frauds, thieves and criminals. Stay away if you don't wanna lose all your balance and savings.Got a prank call indicating that my bank card has been illegally charged for $59.00. I quickly logged-in to my account while on the call and could not see the charge. They stressed they could see it on their side. Few days later, $13k disappeared from my accounts. Don't do business with these people, they are bad people since the merger with Columbia bank merger. Stay away. To be honest, there shouldn't be a star at all for this bank.Unfortunately there isn't a zero star or no star rating. If there was, I would have given them a "no star" or zero star.

Great local bank, would recommend to other business owners. I have been with them for 7 years and they have helped me out with a variety of loans, business credit card, and general personal advice. The Sansome branch has always gone above and beyond and I'd like to wish the branch continued success in 2023.

Honestly Loved the bank the bank at first. It's hometown small town feel. Then I had several occasions where an employer didn't pay me on time. My bills came through and it bounced my account in additional to an app I was using that rounded up each transaction 1 cent to 1.00$ Dozens of these micro transactions hit my account when it was at zero and I incurred a huge overdraft of 1,100$. I was in school at the time and my funds were limited. I asked the branch manager at the time to please help me reverse some of these charges. But they only do a few per year. Needless to say I deleted that app and had to switch banks. Because I'd have to sacrifice a whole pay check to pay that off. Umpqua is a greedy bank that I highly recommend people stay away from. They do not care for their customers. That balance got sent to collections. The entirety of it is overdraft fees. I switched to Discover bank who doesn't charge those in 2019 and will never look back.

The absolute worst customer service. Notice that the last good review was in 2018. Got a mortgage re-fi & wanted to set up online banking. Easy, right? Had to call 3 numbers & spent 2 hours on the phone & was told "information as missing." They literally have all of my information, but ok. After all that, was told I had to go in-person to their downtown branch. Did that. 30 minutes, standing like I was ordering a sandwich. No one offered me a seat. I see bankers at their desks, chatting away, looking very comfortable, definitely not serving clients. Still told "information was missing", no empathy or care, then told to go home & get back on the phone to set up online banking! Got home, got on the phone... info still missing. Last phone guy was nice & I THINK he set me up..but it will take 2-3 biz days to kick in so still no online access. WOW. Is this 1999?! Am I doing a CIA clearance? I have so much remorse for banking with Umpqua. The worst. They could do a job training video on how not to treat customers.

the customer service has been going down for a while then they closed all. of their branches around here. My contact now says "call our back room" so I do, and spend an hour each day with a supervisor who is incredulous to what the bank has done to the retail customers (you N me) accounts. they changed there whole bill pay system and did not alert their customers. (again the supervisor never. heard about it) had to have a branch officer open my personal bill pay again. showed up at his branch (sonoma!!!) at 10am... I left at noon as I had another apptmt to make, HE CALLED ME AT 6:30PM, saying he had just gotten my bill pay going. numerous other problems have come up, no electronic trasfers, now most of my bills must be sent by check service the bank makes you use. numerous other problems have come up, no electronic transfers, late payments, left hand not telling the right hand what is going on type of stuff and now no more branches...... they are also merging with Olympia bank, they have 4 branches in CA only. do your best to find a small local bank that gives the customer service that umpqua has stopped giving.

closes at 4 The mortgage loan officer for the bank works at home, so you can't walk in and ask a question about your mortgage. Funny I saw her at the local casino at 2 in the afternoon. Called 3 times to ask a question and she was rude and useless. Carol is her name. Had to call the corporate office. I pulled a $425.000 mortgage loan out of that bank. They say their the world greatest bank But hey're the world's greatest bank that needs to get their s*** together.

Stay away from Umpqua Bank. Either they don't know which way is up, or they're trying to profit by buying home insurance for your house, by claiming your policy expired when it didn't. Every year I have to notify my insurer to have them notify this lousy bank to inform them that - yes - we still have insurance and it never lapsed. I will never get a home mortgage through them again. Never. Someone should check into them to see if they're intentionally using this method to increase their profits, just like Wells Fargo bilked its customers in numerous ways, from opening fake accounts to charging customers all manner of fees.

I'm reminded of the awful service I've received from this company just now. I canceled with them on June 9, 2020 and just received the monthly $10 fee for July. When I contacted them to ask why she said oh, apparently they cancelled the credit card processing but not the Pay Trace account.Early on with them I saw a disputed charge from a customer. I contacted her immediately and she apologized profusely saying she just didn't recognize the company name at first. She said she'd correct it immediately which she did. I was shocked when I saw the charge disputed again and called her. She had no idea what I was talking about, insisted she did not dispute it at all. Umpqua insisted she was lying. Turns out it was Umqua's incompetence. They couldn't be bothered to call her and explain, I lost a customer forever. So no, I absolutely don't recommend this companySeriously avoid this bank like the plague. I sent an emailCanceling my service with them asking to notify me if they required anything further. This month I'm being billed once again for nothing. They screwed up and only canceled one portion. After sending my 4th email asking why one month later I'm still being billed I'm told oh you have to fill out this form then it's 30-45 days before we actually cancel it. Dishonest and slimy company I would never recommend.

All banks are not created equal, but Umpqua is one of the best community based banks I have found. Consistently they have demonstrated excellent customized customer service for me and my business. Recently one of this branch's employees, Abdul Sanger, helped us get the PPP loan on the first cycle of this program. Without him and Umpqua I don't think we would have gotten it as a lot of my business owner friends did not get approved through the major banks. Bank here and you will get excellent customer service like someone actually cares about you.

Worst customer experience ever. My CD was mature but due to covid it slipped my mind. On day 11 out of the 10 days they give you they took 200$ out of my CD for "holding onto my money " instead of doing the right thing when everyone is out of work and no income coming in they should have waved the fee. But no one cared so here I am leaving you a bad review. You could have rolled it into my checking account or my savings. Instead I closed all my accounts and still no one from corporate has gotten back to me.
