We are lucky to be part of a Union. A Union is only as powerful as its members. More involvement that comes from the workers, the better a Union. Try finding another retail job the offers the benefits that you receive. Don’t thank the company. Thank the Union.

Albertson's, Safeway, Andronico's owes me unpaid wages totaling almost 40 hours. Union Representatives Dan Larson, Milton Hum, and Tim McLaughlin have not assisted me in getting these unpaid wages. Looking forward to suing them as well as HR Manager Christina Franci and Store Director Dylan Atari

Because of this union, Walgreens pharmacists are the lowest paid in the industry here in the bay area. When I say this, I am also referring to NON-UNION, NON-MANGERIAL jobs. When you are also a union employee here, you do NOT qualify for a 401k. You are forced to be under the union's scam-like pension plan, which you begin to vest after 5 years of your valuable time. However, the pension accrual and eventual payout has NOT kept up with inflation, and severely underperforms a 401k investor. I have met many employees here who cannot retire because their pension pays pennies for what one requires for a healthy retirement in San Francisco, let alone the bay area.Pharmacists also have not received raises for 5-6 years now. So much for union representation! Also, the communication from this union is horrendous. Actually, it's practically non-existent. Where are the updates for the Walgreens negotiations? Why isn't the union contract accessible? Why are communications through snail mail and not through the union website? You worked hard and paid monthly dues to essentially hear - nothing.

Omg these people just want our money, I'm glad I'm not working them anymore. Maggie is the worse I asked her about my 401K and she told me that I have to contact the FMLA, wtf does FMLA go to do with my 401k huh!!!! I'm soooo happy I got a new job that I don't have to deal with her and all the 648 local and my manager!

omg I didn't even bother looking the reviews of how bad it is, I've been with union for almost 8 years. My union ref Maggie she don't really help, I have questions regarding my union dues why I got double charged each paycheck and she can't give me a straight answer and so is Rossie. They keep telling me that I'm behind my dues which is not true, and its a back pay, and the system is glitching and Maggie also told me that I was out for a month which is true. But even though I was out for a month I'm still paying my dues coz I used my vacation time, until now I'm still waiting for my money!! good luck folks

I used to deal with them when i had joined Walgreens. They come to me one day to the front counter and told me that I have to pay a one time administrative fee of $300... i said, no thank you and they said you have no choice. I told this guy in eye glasses to go fuck himself... you dont take my damn money of $300 and force me to join... go fuck yourself and one day they called me back and said i need to join and i said nope, no longer working for the company. Go fuckkkkkkk yourself

No one can stop anyone from coming in they all know its not worth it but yet no one tells them to not pay, your workers and work won't get easier your basically working a cafe job one or two days a week your legs hurt will they do anything about it? no one was rude during 2016ish or 2017 I bet Filipinas get away with not paying, every where u go and work its the filipinos who are there, keep talking to the mangers or not they would block you. Their might come after you but leave then you make min wage and if you happen to get into a holiday which is rare doubt it would make it up if you work off shift.

I've been dealing w/this union for over 30 years & ready to prepare for retirement. I rarely come here unless I have to usually over medical/insurance payments & signing some docs. Everyone I've encountered here is pleasant here like Cynthia & Rosie, but this one Asian gal sitting in rear desk has this resentful attitude whenever from the luck of the draw that I end up with her. She don't appear that way when I see her correspond w/members of other ethnic groups. Over hearing her correspondences, is she resentful that she has to commute from San Ramon? During work's lunch break in the lunchroom, I brought her up & several coworkers reply. "You too ?". They all seem to all agreed about her attitude. I guess I should feel relieve or shouldn't I that I'm not singled out. What is this called? Self ethnic resentment, you want my sympathy? Like I say everyone else is nice & we exchange pleasantries & how 1 person can change it all. You must feel some resentful racial obligation on my part. No one is obligated to anyone regardless of race toward equality. Everyone pulls their own boot strap. Over 30 years & we need solid unions today more than ever. A final note is that I discovered getting flea bites on my ankles from their carpeting while I was waiting for the next available clerk.

My 1st time ever leaving a 1 star. I don't want anyone to be screwed by joining this union. I literally paid all my dues and left the job in November. That November I had called the 1st representative regarding that I quit my job and she told me that I had to come in person to sign a withdrawal from the union. I told them I couldn't because my job was literally open during the hours they operate so they said I could fax a paper making a statement that I left. I never sent them a fax so fast forward 2 months later I get a letter in January regarding I had a balance of $80 to pay now ($40 for December). I called the 2nd representative, she said it's because I never signed the withdrawal letter. I was never told by the 1st representative that if I never signed the "withdrawal letter" I would still be continued to billing. 2nd representative told me there was nothing they can do because the always called the "National Hotline" for people who miss their payment. I flat out told them I refuse to pay it. She told me that the only thing she can do is pay all the fees in order to do sign "withdrawal form" or wait til the 3rd month which by then they will put my account in suspension for no pay. I told her fine, I'll take the latter. Just today I got a text (in my 4 years here I never received a text from union) on a Saturday (btw they operate only Mon-Fri) regarding about my dues/fees. This could've been rectify if only they had called, text, e-mail, or mail me regarding I had fees due for the month December, however, I didn't get any notice (not even a mail). Only by January did I get the letter notifying I have to pay December and January. I didn't even pay February and see it's March and they're still harassing me about it even though the lady said by then it should've default. It's the 1st representative's fault because at the moment I called her she withheld information regarding if I didn't sign the "withdraw form" I would still be continued to billed. 4 years of this untenable union and so long. Not paying, not coming back! I will recommend people against working with this union.

There was a rude lady who just kept asking for money. The whole conversation was about getting the money no matter how bad the situatiuon might be. Like a college student who cannot pay the damn fee because of budget cuts and how I have to pay bills and other such. She tried to bully me to paying and wanted me to go home to my family since i stated that maybe i can talk to my parents about it and see if they can pay the fees for me. In the beginning of the conversation was good until she said "oh you just have to pay it all in full and you are ready to go." then i replied "oh i can't pay all of it right now." She had a like reaction like if it i disrespected her and now from there she bullied me saying i have to sign and i have to pay and contuine to pay. The rep that is technically supposed to cover me if anything happens was the one who told me that I do not have to sign and that i do not have to commit to this. If he wasn't there then I would have felt so pressured and broken about this and end up paying which is already hard to me as I am just a college student struggling with bills and other things. As i was about to leave she said that who knows if i ever came back to walgreens i can be there. Basically stating that if I never graduates from school i can come back and pay and work again at walgreens. Yet earlier she stated how the printer is slow and when i graduate from school i can just fix it for them. How rude of her to basically judge my selfworth and say that everything is my fault and how i will not succeed in life just because I wont pay union. How rude of her to even just keep bugging me to ask my parents to see if they would pay. My family in the first place said not to pay them since all they want is money and they were right. I wasted my time coming in for this lady to try and convice me paying is the right thing to do and what I am doing is wrong. Good luck trying to bully others to pay because it didnt get me to pay other then to write out in this review. If you didn't get the message, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE MEMBERS!

Straight up extortion racket here. HUGE fees, MINIMAL to ZERO benefits. Unbelievably high fees for dependants making it literally impossible to pay my rent and bills while working a crappy min wage job. If you miss a payment you will have an extremely rude Filippino lady calling you at 7 a.m. not-so-subtly threatening you with suspension from your job. How am I supposed to pay your INSANELY HIGH fees if you suspend me?!A d forget it if you have a grievance!! You'll either be completely ignored or told "our hands are tied" or "sorry, there's nothing we can do". Maybe, if you're lucky, you'll get " we will definitely look into this for you"....yeah, right. Best advice all around- don't work at a grocery store.

I feel so betrayed by this union. I have a manager that's completely disrespectful to his employees. I thought that one of the reps was going to talk to him about his behavior but every time they leave he starts it up again. I feel like there should be a anonymous poll to see how your work place is going because I would rate it at a negative 20. That's why at my work place people leave because there is no moral support at work or with the union. They need to do better or I'm going to refuse to pay my union dues. Why pay them if they are not going to help. And stop taking the manager side before you hear my side of the story. Remember there is two sides to every story.

Unions only work if the workers collectively make it better. Most people see the Union as this money grabbing machine that does nothing for it's employees, but the truth is that people are aren't going out to get the information. The Union is not good at transparency, or getting their voice out there, but if you go in, the information is there; you just have to ask. Your money is not being wasted.

This place is FOR PROFIT. I worked for one of the companies within this union during college and the lady at the office was a total dog on a stick. They bullied me into paying all the fees even though they knew I was working for only 3 months and when you call them with an actual issue, they DO NOT CARE. ESPECIALLY that hoarse woman. She knew I was working for a short period as a broke college student and hounded me especially hard for money. Get your priorities/morals straight! You work for the people, THEY DO NOT WORK FOR YOU. I will never forget, that's why I am writing this review to inform YOU, that this place is useless. But in reality there is nothing you can do, once is a place is unionized you have to join.

I just don't think this union is really there for it's members. They let so many people down in my opinion and in my experience. I'm giving these people 40 dollars a month and they didn't help me with my issues. There just all about the money, we work we need them and their getting rich off the members. We call them about an issue and they make it seem like everything is alright. It's completely selfish and we need to able to complain about this union because there just not doing the members any good. I believe that there is alot of politics going on here. Once a store manager is friends with you your union rep, you are absolutely screwed because no matter what issues you have you are in a complete disadvantage. I agree with what PTA H. said about the the union keeping the money of deceased members, again another example of there selfish act. Somebody either needs to put a better person in charge or close down this corruption all together.
