I had a terrible experience with US Bank. They placed a hold on my account and withheld my paycheck without any notice. When I called for an explanation, they couldn't provide a reason and just informed me that my account was in the process of being closed. It's been over 10 days, and they still haven't resolved the issue. To make matters worse, when I asked to be transferred to the closure department, the banker hung up on me.
After my previous comment about US Bank holding my account and paycheck without any notice, things only got worse. It took them 5 weeks to finally close my account, and instead of returning the full amount, they sent me a check for just $26. My paycheck had been deposited into that account, and they claimed it was returned. However, when I followed up with my employer, they confirmed that the check had actually been cashed. When I asked US Bank for documentation to show my employer that the check was supposedly returned, they refused to provide anything. I tried to contact the manager twice, but each time I was told they were busy. I left my phone number, but no one ever called me back.
If you have extra money to risk being held or extra time to deal with a headache from a terrible banking system, this is the bank you're looking for.

I have banked with US Bank for years. I went in to add a savings account and was helped by Jason. He was quick to offer his assistance, knowledgeable about accounts and answered my questions in a very personable manner. In less than 20 minutes I was out the door - almost less time than it took me to find a parking spot!

The teller should pay attention to what the customer asks for. I was waiting 15 minutes for the banker but she was helping another customer so I asked the teller for a W2 Interest earned a certain tax year so I can file my income taxes. He prints me out the wrong form. Waste of my time! I could’ve called customer service and they would’ve given me the total interest earned for that tax year. If he was more professional he should ASK and confirm if that was the correct tax year he printed out for me. A child could do a more efficient job!!!

I went there needing to obtain a copy of the interest paid for tax year '21. There was only one banker but she was busy helping a customer. I guess they're short staffed. I went to the teller asking him specifically for tax yr. '21. I left the branch but noticed later the 1099INT was for tax year '20. They need to listen to what the customer asks for. This was a waste of my time and gas.

Absolutely the worst bank to deal with!!! This review is for Raymond Yu!!! This Asian American guy was very RUDE!!! Terrible attitude and seem to be in a pissy mood whenever handling customers!!! He didn't even greet or make an effort to talk to you!!! Raymond Yu humiliated me!!! If you want to get humiliated, just go!!! Not all the tellers, especially Raymond Yu, are well trained!!! Won't ever be back here!!! Hate this place and Raymond Yu who works here!!! He is a client relationship consultant. His NMLS #1872176

I'm very surprised by some of the negative reviews of the Irving St. Branch of US Bank. I've had extremely good service there. My husband and I both have savings and checking accounts at this branch. When I had some banking materials stolen out of our mailbox a couple of years ago, US Bank was exceedingly helpful in resolving the problem and re-instating my checking account. The staff at the Irving St. Branch know our family and are always very friendly and helpful. And just to add this bonus, there is excellent parking around the corner from the bank.

This is a shady a** branch and because of them I will close out my whole account! I opened my account online so this was my first time ever stepping physically into a branch. The service was horrible and they placed a unnecessary 7 day hold on my payroll check which has screwed me

The old lady in this beach is so slow. We want to add a name to an account and it takes like about 40 mins. And then she said she can't finished coz she has to remove the overdraft protection first and it has to clear before she can add the name, and this takes time. So we agreed to come back the next day and I even asked if it will clear in the morning as we're planning to be back the next day morning, she said it should clear by then. We came back the next day in the morning, and was told she's off in the morning, branch manager helped us and told us we still can't add a name since the overdraft protection removal has not cleared yet. We basically came for nothing. 2 things, she should told us she's off the next morning, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that it's a last minute decision to take morning off. Secondly, she shouldn't say overdraft protection removal should be closer the next morning.
