Beautifully curated space with well selected wines. We opted for the 3 wine flight (~$40) and absolutely loved the selections but overall we felt rushed through the flight and were given the check 45 mins before close when we still had half our final tasting left and would’ve ordered another glass.

Great wine shop and tasting room. Best selection in the city and their staff is fantastic and providing options that fit one's palette. Definitely worth checking out.

Simply put, it doesn't get better than Verve. The perfect place to come in for a glass or flight (which changes daily) to expand your palate and horizons. We adore the staff - Megan, Jess, and Leah are all fantastic, incredibly proficient in their wine knowledge (some are sommeliers), and always ask the right questions to help you find what you are looking for on any given occasion and price point. My absolute favorite gem of a neighborhood wine bar/bottle shop!

Date of Visit: 11/2/2022Finally visit the cute wine shop on Fillmore Street. Besides shopping for the wines, there is a big marble table in the middle that you can enjoy a glass or two. I got the Wine Flight $24. The day when we visited it is Around the World flight, with 1 white and 2 reds. 2021 Andre & Michel Quenard Les Abymes 2020 4 Monos Viticultores 'GR10' Vino de la Sierra de Gredos2020 Brovia Sorì del Drago Barbera d'AlbaThere is also an option of open a bottle. They charge $15 corkage fee if you want to consume in the store.

TLDR: $30 flight was super stingy on wine. Flight wines were a strange pick. Staff wasn’t the warmest.I had a weird vibe experience here. I showed up at 3 on a Friday to try some wines and was notified they don’t start pouring until 4 PM. I was then notified that I could buy a bottle and pay a corking fee, so I began browsing bottles and asking for recs/entertaining light conversation about the wines. The women working ignored me (it was just me in there) and when I mentioned getting a bottle to open in-store they said “no, we don’t pour ANYTHING until 4”. That’s fine, so I left empty handed and came back around 4:15.They offer one flight a night it seems, so I opted to try it. It’s $30 for 1 glass of wine worth of tastings. $30! the tasting wines the day I went were not good for a flight. Maybe for a literal free tasting they’d be fine, but not for a $30 flight. I appreciate Verve sources from small wineries around the world however that doesn’t mean all wines are good for a flight (I.e some of those wines are meant for specific food pairings).I was there for roughly an hour, paid, and was sitting in the store waiting for my ride when one of the employees came over and said they had a time limit and I needed to leave. Yes, the location is small. But I had paid and was clearly getting ready to hop skippity out of there.I ended up leaving and telling my ride to meet me at Vic’s Wine Bar down the street - it was happy hour and I got 3 full pours of amazing Argentinian wine for $15. The owners who work there are insanely hospitable.Verve is so gorgeous, perfect for an IG worthy date, but I just can’t justify going there anymore knowing Vic’s is down the street.

We tried their wine flight which was great. Also they gave us a glass of Chardonnay as I was curious for a particular kind of Chardonnay. The interior is beautiful as well and the layout is awesome for talking to each other/group. Less private tho if you're looking for a more intimate one on one setting.

Loved the fit out and the ambiance. The service was excellent. I'll be back for another glass before I head back to Australia, I just wish their by-the-glass list was a little longer.

Okay. This place is LEGIT. Yes you will spend $20+ on a bottle of wine. But you are paying for the recommendations they have in store. They literally NEVER miss. Be specific about what you want and they will tailor several options that are just incredible. By far my favorite wine store on the planet. For reference I have bought probably 20 different bottles of wine from them over the course of the last year and they've always beat my expectations. CONSISTENT!

EVENT: it's the weekend and got some girlfriends visiting me! We had a weekend stroll around this area... and was looking for a wine place where we can sit and enjoy a glass of wine. Came across this place... looks very romantic... there's a bunch of couples sitting around... we were deciding if we want to come here and chill.. cause y'all ... we so loud in general... and might ruin the mood of the place DRINK: soooooo.... we decided to go in.... the 4 of us... and yes we were loud!! **Ops** **Sworries** - we decided to get a bottle of wine ... we picked it out from the library collection of wine... I LOVE IT! I love the ladder... it's so cool! - FYI, corkage fee $15. So, if y'all decide to drink there... add $15 for corkage fee if you do pick a wine and decide to drink. I LOVE IT - we ended up with a basic rose' ... we picked it right from the fridge! OVERALL: excellent place for a date

I visited this place for the first time the other day when strolling the area in the afternoon. It's a great addition to the area yet think there's a few things customers should know: 1. the current flight cost $32, which is comparable to what you'd pay in wine country, sans ambience of wine country, 2. I asked if they had a roster of the wines they were offering in the flight or by glass so I could read about them, but was told by the guy that he is the roster and will provide all the information yet didn't divulge pricing--I prefer transparency like other wine rooms, and 3. they have food offerings but I didn't pay it much attention. I decided to order a glass of wine and still was not told the price--a customer should never have to ask and wouldn't have to in a restaurant. A glass is 5 ounces, not bad but not great depending on your perspective and was $20, which was a bit steep compared to other establishments. Bottom line, I like to be an educated consumer and feel proprietors should be transparent with information, especially pricing. I didn't look at their wine bottle selections but it seemed that they had a broad range of offerings. For now, I'm giving it three stars and will update if frequenting in the future.

This is a great spot on Fillmore! I came here with my boyfriend for a tasting before dinner on a Saturday. We walked in and didn't have to make an appointment. The ambience is incredible, the music great, and the service top notch. There were two staff on hand that seamlessly served us our different wines. We did a tasting of 3 wines. All 3 wines were truly something special and the portions were much more than you typically expect at a tasting. We ordered the trio of cheeses and crackers as well and were blown away by the relatively low prices for the area, as well as the unique selection of cheeses. You get a good serving of cheese as well! After the tasting, we were not pressured at all to buy any wine, which is always nice. I would come back here to buy wine in the future if I was not headed out to a restaurant afterward. Overall, I had a great experience at verve and will come back again!

Lovely selection of wines new and old. They serve flights and humored me with a glass of the white. A Spanish Godello I’ve not heard of before. It was quite pleasant as a midday stop. The staff were all kind and welcoming.

My neighborhood shop and one of the best in SF. Terrifically curated selection highlighting the world’s great wine growing regions and producers. Whether you’re after mid week drinkers or special bottles to lay down for years to come, the lovely team at Verve has you more than covered.
