I was at east west back today and waited over 45 min. There was only 2 tellers for over 15 customers. The manager was there and didn’t seem to care. Horrible

My bank branch is on Garvey San Gabriel. On the way home I stop at this branch to deposit. 1- I ask customer service any comercial deposit window. She point me get in line there. 2- after 15 min my turn the window teller not even say hi, she keep flip my two deposit check back & front many time then use calculator adding couple times. Finally she went to manger to ask any?. Then come back say have to call for verify. Omg! I was regret why I stop by this bank branch? I only deposit. Not cash out. Parking and exit at this branch are very inconvenience.

East West Bank is one of Asian well known bank. However, I went to Cerritos and Irvine branches, wuihh.. didn't the teller know how to greet customers. We are not robbers. Don't give flat face. The only branch I really love is located on 800 E. Valley Blvd. San Gabriel, CA. Smile is not expensive. Easy to do. Greeting to customers is one of the word call customer service.

A great bank in my opinion. They have better rates and service than other banks that I have dealt with. The building is right on a corner and there is always security posted at every entrance/exit. This bank is fairly safe and there is an open concept so you are able to see everything that is going on. It is always crowded at this location since it is on the corner of 2 very busy streets. The tellers and workers are always nice and accommodating. Everyone is always kind and welcoming. One thing I love about East West Bank is that you are not charged any ATM fees when taking out money. Most ATM/debit cards are charged a $3 fee when you visit an ATM but not with EAST WEST BANK. So awesome and convenient. You can visit any ATM you wish as well which is awesome. I know there are not many East West Banks outside of the San Gabriel Valley but I have seen them pop up in more cities outside the SGV which is super exciting. I have been with them for about 10 years and will continue to do so!

Went to this branch a while back looking to apply for a mortgage loan. There was no one in line. I was asked to wait and no one came to help nor was there a sign sheet. They were no interested to do business with me, and vice versa.

Parked on the handicapped parking spot as my grandma have a handicap parking sign. Walked my grandma into the bank, long line. I then walk to the next plaza to my dentist to make a appointment, half way walking. Heard a super loud sound "you better f****** moved your car or else your s*** will get towed" I turned around and saw a security at the parking lot I parked in. Told him my grandma is in the bank and this is what I get in return " you got one minute or your s*** will be towed". Went to my car and when I about to move my car, the security proceed to stand behind my car and said i am not an handicapped and I am violating the law. I told him my grandma is in the bank and she is the one who needs this spot. "You lying piece of s**** that's what I get in return. WOW, amazing job. Mr. Rent a cop, but I wouldn't let a idiot ruined my day so I just asked Mr. Cop wanna be to get out of my way and I will just go Park next door. This isn't directly towards Cathay banks service but Cathay bank as a corporation did hired a retarded security that just ruined your company as a whole. Grandma walks out the bank, now I will have to make a U-turn and pick her up again. Thanks again idiot, thank you for listening and accusing me.

The customer service is notoriously poor at this branch of Cathay Bank. The lines are often ridiculously long, with only a few tellers servicing at any given time. Their interest rates on savings are also non-existent, but I suppose that's in line with other big banks. Occasionally, they do offer CD promotions that offer more competitive rates, but it's quite common for them to restrict the CDs to what they consider "new money" (i.e., funds that are not already with the bank). I do most of my banking elsewhere and online and my occasional visits here support my decision to not give Cathay Bank any more of my business going forward.

This branch in San Gabriel at the corner of Valley and San Gabriel Blvd gave us a hard time. Today I took my 88 yr old, hard walking mom to the branch trying to do business. I understand their security policy but I do not appreciate their question about the purpose of the visit. Two of the high rank bank individuals came out asking my mother what was the purpose of the visit. Obviously is to withdraw some fund. Because my mother got scared and confused with the questions she was refused to get the fund out. I am sad that people treat elderly in such manner. Luckily I don't bank with them and I have no intention to do business with them. Do not open account with this branch. I am sure there are other branches can help.

I was invited by Sandy to join in on an SBA loan seminar after I came in for a transaction one day and was glad I did. First of all, I didn't even know banks hosted seminars to educate their customers of their products. Secondly, the seminar was really well organized. I was educated on how to finance my small business, which was very helpful! Finally, I was a little shocked because I thought there would be trouble navigating to our seats but Sandy was very helpful in guiding us to our seats, handing us snacks and water. They also provided us with useful EWB notebooks to write in during the seminar. Smart and well prepared! Big plus was they had Porto's!! Potato balls for the win!

I was at this branch early today with my parents. I guess they're lucky that we weren't secret shoppers. We walked in and no one greeted us. There was probably 2 other customers in the branch. We were looking around until we found the new accounts corner I'm assuming and my sister had to ask the representative for help instead of her greeting us and asking if we needed anything. She saw us walk in by the way. Finally we get some help what really bugs me especially was not the lack in customer service but that the representative had her phone out in the open where there was customer's information was around. I'm not sure what their policy is for personal cellphones in the work place. I work in a financial institution also and we have a strict no cell phone in work areas in case of any security breaches. Not only does it take the attention away from focusing on the customers but it can be a security breach for the customers sensitive information. We were there so our parents can update their information but after seeing how the customer service and how important security is to them I recommend my parents to moved their accounts to an financial institution where the service and security is a high priority from the company to their customers. I would recommend that if you are banking here that you should be careful with your sensitive information.
