I've worked with this company for years and find them prompt, courteous and a wizard with copy machines, printers, adding machines and especially typewriters.

Wonderful shop. The man who runs it is so knowledgable and offers creative solutions if you bring in a machine thats on its last legs. He fixed an old IBM Type Selentric Two for us that internally was all messed up and he did it quickly and for a price that was very fair. 10/10 would go back here again.

Martin repaired my Olivetti Lettera 33, cleaned it, changed the ribbon, and generally made it as good as new. The charge was very reasonable. When I picked it up, he told me that he learned to type on one just like it, which his father brought home when Martin was very young.

Martin is incredible. You tell me, how hard would you think it would be to find a vintage typewriter specialist in 2019??? Well Yelp is incredible because jokingly I searched for "vintage typewriter repair" and this business pops up right away, and about 2 miles away from my parents' house in Rosemead. So ... I had a challenge for him. I came in with a beat up old IBM Selectric, which had broken parts and a lot of stuck keys in need of some internal cleaning. I was leaving the next day, and at first he said he would need a few days. That very evening he calls me saying he had it repaired. Everything was clean inside. My dad said it looked brand new. Nostalgia on high, we just admired Martin's work. Martin was patient. Before I left, he gave a complete tutorial of how to work this thing, including taking in and out the ink ribbon. He even had the good idea of putting it all on video so I can review how to do it later. And I cruised outside and we had a brief conversation about electric cars. I like his unrushed, friendly demeanor. He was honest and showed me everything he replaced. I saw the cord and the broken piece and I can clearly see why the typewriter stayed typing stationary instead of moving on as I typed. I really appreciate the effort. He made every effort, even to stay after closing time, in order to get me the typewriter today, so I can leave for NorCal tomorrow morning. Oh yes, let me take a pic of this beauty. Wish I had what it looked like before. But here it is!

A Place for Old School Office Machines, Typewriters, Photocopiers, and Fax Machines to be fixed and restored. Took my Dada Texas Instruments Calculator to be fixed. They made a custom interface cable to Attach the Keyboard to the Monitor. My dad was stoked!

Martin did an amazing job on a 1960's Smith Corona Classic typewriter that I bought as a gift for my brother. It was in good working condition but really needed to be cleaned it had many years of grime on it!! Martin did a fabulous job and the typewriter looks like new!! He far exceeded my expectations! I would highly recommend International Office Machines!!

I came in and was promptly greeted by the owner. He was straight-forward and polite, didn't try to upsell or nickel and dime me about my typewriter.

This place has been open for a very very long time and I can see why... It even made it through the computer revolution. The owner cleaned, checked and put a new ribbon on 2 of my typewriters. Only 125 each ! A hidden gem and worth the travel if you come from far away ! No words can express how grateful I am ...

I came in and was promptly greeted by the owner. He was straight-forward and polite, didn't try to upsell or nickel and dime me about my typewriter. Long story short, I bought this beautiful vintage machine for $50. The keys were really tight, it was dusty and absolutely needed servicing. One day, my friends' kids had come over to play and one of them banged away on my typewriter. Because the keys were already really tight, one has to wait for one arm to fall back into place before striking the next key. The kid didn't do that, causing about 6 keys or so to jam by getting the arms tangled into one another. Just glancing at the typewriter, the owner quoted me $125.00 before I even got to tell him the problem. The quote was just to clean and re-oil it. When I told him I needed him to actually un-jam it as well as rotate some of the letters so they faced the correct direction, he didn't add onto the cost. It was still a flat $125.00, which I thought was really nice. Unfortunately, $125.00 for a $50 machine was not going to happen. So I thanked him for his time and took the typewriter back. I don't know if a five-star review is right for a service I didn't actually receive but I feel he was an honest man when we discussed my typewriter and that he would've absolutely done a great job with it.

Martin is an expert typewriter mechanic and the humblest guy! I grew up in this area - he's been here a LONG time and knows everything about your typewriter! My machines feel and smell like new when they come home from his shop. And, even though he's outlasted all the other guys in this area, his prices are still incredibly reasonable. (He always has some machines for sale, too!)
