As a Guangzhou native, believe me this is not authentic claypot rice. The vegetables are fried and placed on the clay pot rice, without any heat. Service is

Highlights: Really great food, servers are nice and respectful, good price for the amount of food, cool dishes and cool green chopsticksDetailed review: Never been here until last week and what a great food find the place looked like a restaurant in NYC or somewhere else that didn't have that LA look which in my opinion was refreshingFood: I got the rice and pork ribs with sausage in a cool clay pot that Ive never seen before. The rice was really flavorful and fluffy and soft . The ribs were nice a tender with some mildy sweet sauce. And the best part was the sliced sausage it was delicious and savory I wish it came with a little bit more but the amount of food was enough for me to be satisfied and full. They also give you some herbal tea instead of water which I liked cause it was different then having soda or plain water, the water was well purified and didn't taste like LA tap water.Service: Servers were nice and friendly my order did take a bit to arrive but I don't mind because it's not a common dish to make and the business looks like a mom and pop restaurant so please be patient with food and the employees don't expect fast food time at a sit down restaurant.Price: I think the price for the meal and the service is within its price and not a wallet breaker unless you get more than one dish. One dish of the order I got can probably feed two average people I'm a big dude and it satisfied meThank you for reading my review I hope you get to read more ✌️??️

It's completely unauthentic herbal tea. I feel reluctant to use the ingredients. It doesn't have the taste that herbal tea should have at all.

The claypot rice is getting worse and worse, and the soup is not as good as before. I wonder if the chef has changed.

Very Special Clay Pot Rice, the original taste with the specially designed pot. There are crispy rice as well as the special soy sauce to make the dishes really delicious. Even the packing box for to-go order also has the same taste with some additional given crispy rice. Some special desserts are offered as well as the soups. Also, some herbal tea is bitter enough. Pay attention to it. Do remember to check the prices of vegetables. The store is small while it might take a long time to wait for the clay pot rice. Leave enough time for it.

This is the worst claypot rice I have had the meat were ok, but the rice wasn’t even crispy it was clear that they rushed the cooking just so they can serve more customers quickly. The steam milk and egg was the best part of the meal.

Nature Pagoda in San Gabriel has mastered the art of clay pot rice and offers an array of healthy soups. I opted for the black bean catfish clay pot with added Chinese sausage and the herbal black chicken soup. The rice, especially the crunchy bottom layer, was a standout, delivering a delicious texture. The herbal black chicken soup had a distinctly Chinese herbaceous flavor, giving it a healthy and satisfying touch. To complement the meal, I ordered the steamed milk with ginger. It was almost like a custard, and the ginger sauce struck the perfect balance, not overly sweet.A helpful tip for fellow food enthusiasts: order your clay pot right away to get the preparation started while you wait. This ensures a quicker and more efficient dining experience at Nature Pagoda.

My friend and I came for a dinner since we were craving for hot soup and this place was not disappointed us at all. Natural Pagoda is a tiny treasure trove of Cantonese delights. The herbal chicken soup is a soothing elixir, and the clay pot rice, a culinary masterpiece. Despite the cozy setting and the inevitable wait, each bite is a reminder of why this place is a local favorite. Casual, comforting, and absolutely worth the queue!

Tiny and intimate eatery! My friend visited me from Seattle and she was deeply in love with the food! Service was awesome too! Will come back here for more unique desserts.

I'm still undecided if the food makes up for the subpar service. When the claypot rice is done well, it's amazing, perfectly crispy rice, and generous portions, but the problem is, it's inconsistent. Sometimes there's barely any meat and the rice isn't crispy. Warning: be prepared to wait for a very long time. On average, it takes 20 mins to take our order, even when the restaurant is empty, then be prepared to wait another 40-60 mins for your food. It's ironic the servers expect patrons to have patience, but don't have any patience themselves, and can be short and rude. I'm confused by the kitchen order priority. We've arrived early for dinner at 4:50 pm to an empty restaurant, placed our orders, only to see 6+ tables that arrived well after us, receive their claypot rice before us, finish their food and leave, and ours has yet to come out.

If you are looking for traditional Chinese herbal soups, then you have come to the right place. There are a number of soups that you can choose from. Keep in mind that these soups have specific herbal properties so you would want to be conscious of your choices. The soups arrive hot with ingredients that you can see. Beyond the soup, the clay pot rice is satisfying, though the rice in mine wasn't very cooked through and the part that is supposed to be slightly burnt, wasn't so in mine.Nonetheless, this is a good place for soup and comfort clay pot rice.

This review is only for their steamed milk dessert! Because that's the one reason I come here for!!!I know about this place since 20 years ago! I haven't been back for a long while. But I am so glad they are still in Business and their steamed milk dessert are still so delicious! I recently came here twice just to eat the steamed milk dessert. It's comes with some ginger sauce and you can ask to skip it if you like. I love it so much that I ordered two for myself. The service is good here because they didn't mind that we only come to eat the dessert. The ambiance is casual and it's a small place. But the tables are not too crowded.

Rude!! Ridiculous service!! Came here at 4:15pm on a Monday. Quite and empty. I don't think the gentleman at the front can speak, no greeting just pointed at the table told us to seat down. When taking order he didn't even say a word. Actually during the whole time he didn't opened his mouth to speak at all. More people came in and he still refused to talk. (Heard him talking to other employees in the kitchen) Not coming back again because of his service!!!
