Came in for a smog on Wednesday. customer before me failed his smog test so ask the attendant or owner. if I should drive a bit before testing he said no that every car is different. than my car failed. I drove around on Friday and brought it to the mechanic he tested it and it passed. I'm here at star smog for retest.
It passed after waiting a hour and ten minutes. This guy is the only one doing the smog tests so it's going to take a long time. Go somewhere else

Came on a Saturday bc was visiting the area and they open earlier than others in the area, so got there around 8:20a and there were already like 10 people ahead, and lots of cars in the lot and on the street. When you get there you just find a spot nearby to park.
The owner greets you quickly and takes your keys to make sure you are in line on first come first serve/ first served basis.
I waited til 9:45 for my turn, and my 12 year old car was done by 9:55a. By time I filled out the car info slip it was pretty much done. DMV transmission wasn’t ready within an hour but definitely by the afternoon.
Prices differ based on the car model and year - per the gentleman/owner. Newer cars can be $45, some older standard the lady was charging $58.
Almost 2 hrs wait on a weekend — so def bring a book or something to do. *** BE PREPARED TO WAIT *** since it’s a very very busy shop and they have a system going fairly fast depending on the car (10-15 mins per car). If you don’t like the wait then I’d def go to El Monte where it’s much quicker for a few bucks more.
They do have a waiting room with couches and large TV, along with 4 patio chairs out in front of the shop.
They take credit cards (not checks) and thankfully DON’T CHARGE fees for credit. :)

I've been going here for years and it's my go-to place! It's not the closest smog center for me so this last visit, I was feeling a bit tired, and I called 2 places that are highly rated and located closer to me just to check that the extra drive I was making was worth it. Both places I called quoted me $15-25 higher than what I was charged here.
The line was short when I went on a Thursday afternoon so I was out of there in about 30 minutes, but I don't mind waiting longer here! The service is always honest and efficient, and the couple who run it are great.

Went yesterday to get a smog, EXCELLENT Place not to mention cheap and friendly, to me are the most important, waited approximately 10 min, pd. ONLY 45 bucks, what a steal, Gary and other employee were great, I even got a free water bottle, was there about 25 minutes, highly recommend this place, see you in 2 years Gary 🙋 and again thanks for everything overall
