I love shopping at the Discovery Shop on Almaden and Branham. This store is always so organized and they have gorgeous treasures. They always have great deals and friendly volunteers.

This store is always clean and organized. The staff is great and always friendly. The manager takes great pride in displaying all their best items in ways that make you want to take everything home! One of my all time favorites!

Amazing Shop! Something for everyone in a clean, tidy shop. Three racks of clothes priced for $5 or less and lots of designer name clothes and handbags! I will definitely return.

The prices here are crazy. I mean antique store retail prices. They didn't used to be. We used to shop here to support the Cancer Society, to find things for our home, clothing, etc. Now we can't afford to shop here - at a thrift store. The last two times we went in, we left empty handed. In September my husband and I stopped by, $20 for a vintage cup and saucer was common. They had a used Barbie doll - newer and decent condition - for $25! No kidding. Their tag said $25! It wasn't vintage either. I picked up a pair of wine glasses that said $25 on the tags. A little pricey but I figured the gold rims were worth it. Ok, every other place "pr" means "pair". I got to the register and was told the wine glasses were $25 EACH. I questioned it and the cashier, "went to ask" I don't know who she asked, but whoever it was they told her it was $50 for both of the glasses. I left them there. I even put them back for the cashier. We went in a few days ago, and the prices were even higher! They have beautiful merchandise for the most part. But this is a thrift store, people DONATE items, not sell them to them. The prices they are asking, especially with so many people out of work, are full retail - on USED items. Goodwill is almost as bad. Go down the street to SAVERS. I Feel bad for saying that because the cancer society had helped my mom. But she would be pissed at me if I over paid for a used item.

Great selection of clothing items. Many high quality coats. I saw a 100% wool, union made, knee length women's coat here. The only reason I didn't get it is because I already have many coats at home.

Last week I dropped off a donation and dealt with a woman who was very rude. She threw boxes at me to unload my van and would not acknowledge me or help me in any way. When I was finished I asked where I was to leave the boxes and again she just ignored me. I looked at her and thanked her for being so helpful and pleasant toward me. (Just because she was rude didn't mean I had to be.) I went into the shop to look around and asked the volunteer who the woman was and to my surprise was told she was the owner. In the future I will be making my donations to The Thrift Box in Willow Glen as the volunteers there are so nice.

These small places make donating to so hard. The hours, the limited staff, the limited storage space, the limited hours, the particularity about as-new donations, the policy of having to make an appointment to donate. I bought a lamp at Cost Plus that was sold without a lampshade. Lampshades are a separate item, a separate purchase. I ended up using the lampshade on a different lamp at home, and thus, this lamp is without a shade. But it is modern and in perfect condition. But the Cancer Society Discovery shop won't accept my shadeless lamp. I literally had just removed the lamp from a dresser at home, having just used it all day. Shame.

This used to be a great place to find treasures, but apparently they have gotten new management who have significantly raised the prices of everything! The store is for a great cause, so I feel bad but I won’t be shopping here anymore.
