Bank of the West was never that great. BMO is not 10 times worst. BMO is the absolute worst bank I've ever had the displeasure of working with. When I withdraw/drawdown money from my HELOC account, they update my account and reduces the amount I have remaining right away . Yet, when I pay down the principal, they don't update it for 3 working days (BTW, unlike all banks in CA, BMO doesn't work Saturday), and they don't increase my available funds accordingly for another 18 days. This is all in an effort to cheat customers by charging them interest for more days. I'm very upset and displeased with BMO

The teller at this branch was incredibly disrespectful to the customer before me who had questions about the BMO acquisition. I attempted to give him the benefit of the doubt but immediately his tone was completely disrespectful and arrogant. He was unable to complete a simple transaction such as a cashiers check without a disrespectful tone. I suggested that perhaps I should go to a different branch and he agreed. I drove 30 mins to the branch in Mountain View, on Castro and received assistance from them without any difficulty. If I were the manager of this branch I would consider termination for this employee. Completely unacceptable, however it seems to be the standard for this branch as both managers appeared to be within earshot and took no issue with this. Be forewarned! I suggest closing your account and moving to a different branch if this is a branch you do business with.

Bank recently taken over by BMO. Came in to get quarters . Told by teller they did not have any. Then I said I was a long term customer. He said another bank teller took them and I would half to wait 15 minutes. I have two accounts and hav banked with bank of the west for 30 years. If this is the change then probably going elsewhere!

I liked to do business with this Bank of the West. Nader, the bank manager was very helpful when I apply to get the loan from my property. He guided me thru this whole process .

I signed up for a new checking account. I never have any issues with direct deposit after having half a dozen bank accounts and signing up for direct deposit with various employers many times. I've been stuck in an endless loop where I can't get DD to work and this bank keeps returning my money back to my employer. On top of this, they promised me 0$ fees for my account, and now they're charging me 10$ a month because of a lack of deposits. Disgusting and shady business practices, avoid any BotW banks at all costs.

Kind of an older fashion bank. Customer service is slow, but was very friendly. There is plenty of parking but a little scary with a lot of workers staring at you hoping you have a job for them. I came here to open a bank account to take advantage of the free $600. It took about a hour. I've done similar offers at Chase which took half the time. The manager watched over his employees and was very friendly. They did try to get me to sign up for a credit card which I had to decline twice. It's such an older, low budget looking place that I had to take a step back to make sure they are FDIC insured. Free $600 for them to hold your cash for 6 months. Do it if you get it in the mail :)

The worst customer service EVER from the branch manager himself !! As a branch manager, he is suppose to set an example and represent the branch. After waiting patiently for 30 minutes for my turn, Nadir finally sees me. I told him I am there to update my name and address. He updates my address and submits the changes. When I ask about my last name, he says he cannot make any more changes and will have to wait till the next day. He was apologetic and said he would arrange everything, call me the next day or two and make it hassle free next time. It's the least he could do right? 1.5 weeks go by. NO CALL. I need to call the branch to follow up. Nadir is not in and his colleagues do not know whether he will be in or not. How do you not know if the manager is coming in or not??? Avoid this branch.

Some of the tellers are friendly, but in general, the processes here are cumbersome, and the staff make me feel unwelcome. I'm the trustee of an account for my disabled brother, and I dread coming here to do transactions.

I want to give you a headsup. My wife and I went there to open a CD yesterday. We were helped by a senior relationship banker. She was disinterest and no smile at her face. OK. she might just be having a bad day, we thought. We told her we wanted to add beneficiaries but we don't have all the info. She asked us to come back with all the info. I called her this morning asked what info do we need to bring. So we went there. We were stunned with the same attitude. Then she asked us to provide the beneficiary's address, which we don't know on top of my head. So, she put my address instead which I really don't like. So I got on the phone and got the addresses. She said oh it is ok just use yours. She is reluctant to make changes. So, I insist. Then she did it. When I review the info she had entered. Gosh, the address and SSN were entered incorrectly. So she made corrections. We thought we had accomplished the task so we can leave because we had enough. Then she said the system is down and asked us to come back again when system is up. We asked if we can talk to the branch manager. We waited for 5 minutes before he showed up. He was very defensive and show no interest at all about the issue. His apology shows very little sincerity, you know what I mean. I am hoping they really understand their issues. They acted as they are THE ONLY BANK here. I don't recommend you go there if you have a high blood pressure.
