Prior to getting our storage unit, I had spoken to Anthony on the phone a couple of times. He was always pleasant and so helpful! He went above and beyond when we met in person to make sure we got everything completed in the timeframe that we needed. Excellent customer service and so far we are very happy the unit and location!

I showed up late last Friday afternoon to make arrangements for a short-term rental for the month of July. The sign on the door confirmed that the hours on Fridays were 9-6, but NOBODY WAS THERE! While I was still on site, I called them up and reached a helpful woman at another Bay Area Self Storage location who set up an appointment for me with the manager of the Bird Avenue one for 2:30 today (Monday). She agreed with my assessment that the signs online and on the front door should not indicate that the business was open until 6:00 when the manager is often out somewhere during the day.At 2:25 today, I called to make sure said manager was really going to keep his appointment with me before I drove over for our appointment. I again reached another helpful female who works at a different location for this company. She tried to find him, said he was on another call, knew nothing about my appointment, etc.I then checked Yelp ratings for this location, found out they weren't so good, and berated myself for trying to go with them in the first place! We'd used them successfully for another short-term rental back in 2016, but things can change a lot in 7 years and apparently, they did at this place....

Think Kati was so very nice and kind. She was also helpful in a lot of ways. I have two storage's there and both her and the big guy Anthony have been very kind and helpful to both myself and my husband.Thanks to the both of them.

This facility checks all the boxes! I feel good about it's location on Bird and Willow rather than getting a storage unit on the other side of 87 (I don't feel as safe there). The storage units are clean and the staff is fantastic! Kristi helped me process in, and then eventually out when I no longer needed extra storage. There's no hard sales pitch. All the supplies for moving are conveniently located in the office. I've used them twice and I'd highly recommend them. Kristi, thank you for being responsive, helpful and providing awesome customer service! ?

Great service, the first guy I met his name I think was Robert was very helpful, friendly and reserved a unit for me. Christy also helped me secure the unit and explained in detail what was expected as a customer. Definitely would recommend bay area self storage. Helpful and friendly staff.

It's Excellent. We all make mistakes. This place however treats their customers fairly and I wish them well. Excellent storage facility.

I would stay far away from this business. If you move and have a payment issue they won't help you and they'll charge you a late fee even if you try several times to make a payment. This business decided to change their POS system in March 2021. I was told myself and other members couldn't make a payment. It was up to us to figure out a way to pay. I'm out of San Jose now and not able to walk into the business with my card or cash since I moved prior to pandemic. I was not able to make my payment via the same monthly method. I Tried twice online it wouldn't work. The employee tried to make a payment over the phone, it didn't work. It didn't work! Now I'm being charged a late fee! My payment finally went through today and being told no refunds for a late fee I don't think I deserved since the business changed their POS system. I just wanted to share my story. Cause I can't go back to SJ and move my items and the business isn't being helpful at all. Just feeling frustrated and helpless

I have stored my personal items here for over 3 years always always feeling secure.I went to my storage earlier this year and upon opening door I could smell a dead animal and animal fecies. 2 squirrels unfortunately got in my storage and died on my clothing! Very sad.I have repeatedly reached out to see what they will assist me with as I threw out 2 full baskets of clothing! With No response I am very disappointed.I do not recommend this place due to responsibility and bad communication!If there was zero stars or negative zero that is my rating!!!!

This is a friendly, and great affordable storage place. Very accommodating and secure Storage properties with very customer service. REALLY RECOMMENDED!

Terrible, absolutely terrible. Long story short- my father passed away- he and my mom have a storage unit. My mom had to update the cc for billing as my father's was cancelled. When my mother tried to access the unit she was locked out. She provided a copy of the death certificate but now they are demanding to see a full copy of my father's trust- all personal information. The contents of the storage are irrelevant at this point, but this company has chosen to take advantage of a terrible situation- by law they cannot not withhold property. Police have been notified- but my strongest advice is to go somewhere else where you'll be treated like a human. Again, they are unlawfully withholding property. I'd be happy to delete this post once Bay Area storage complies with the law.

They are really friendly there. It's clean and if there are any issues they notify you. Anthony was a manager there . He us amazing. Not sure about who replaced him after he transitioned to another location

I have stored with this group for probably 8+ years. They have my credit card on file. Periodically those cards expire or need to be replaced. These guys are so obnoxious in their billing, there is no reasonableness to getting a new card. One time I was out of the country, and they called incessantly, even though I explained I couldn't give them a new card until I got back. And once again, my long time card expired, and about a week later they've charged $70 in fees and said the property is under lien, and now won't return my calls and emails. It's OUTRAGEOUS. They have zero customer service. I have been there for ages, paid a ridiculous sum of money to them, and they can't even wait for me to get a replacement card. Do not store here.
