I was pleasantly surprised at the difference in cleanliness and professionalism when I decided to switch from 24 Hour Fitness to City Sports. From the moment I entered the front doors the wide open space and lighting provided a far more ambient and welcoming environment. The spacing of equipment and general flow/set up made it easy to traverse and acclimate myself to the facility. Sam Gozan, the General Manager, was especially helpful in assisting me through the entire process. I appreciate transparency and Sam is no BS. Gets directly to the point, which I appreciated. He provided a thorough tour and delved into the perks of membership outside of the club. The best part of my switch was traffic/member volume. I would wait endlessly at 24 Hour Fitness for entitled individuals to finally abandon equipment without cleaning the area afterward. Often leaving their possessions laying around the general area with complete disregard to everyone else. I don't experience that at City Sports. The employees and members are all very kind and courteous based off my current experience. It is for these reasons I provided the club with a 5-star rating. Far too often individuals only comment on Yelp purely out of entitlement and to spread negativity. I wanted to take the time to provide a positive outlook and extend my thanks to the staff for their hard work.

Horrible customer service. Very rude operations manager and staff. Not friendly when explaining the service rules and not nice people. Do not recommend! Find some other places to go!

Poor Communication I went into the gym to cancel mine and my partners membership. I talked to front desk about it and they told me the cancellation has been processed only to find out that my partner had to go into the gym himself to do it. So only one membership was canceled instead of two. City sports have been constantly charging me and every time I called them about the cancellation, they kept changing the cancellation date. They shouldn't have falsely claimed that the cancellation has been processed from the start. I called the gym recently about this situation and whoever was working front desk was being super rude. He was not helpful at all. Instead of listening to my concerns, I kept getting shut down. I get it, work is work but a little help wouldn't hurt anyone lmao.

So I decided to go to this gym under a 3 day free trial because I wanted to use the equipment (punching bags, weights, etc.) Upon arriving I was brought to a desk and I believe the guy was Anthony Lipscomb? (Dude with tattoos) He told me that he saw me there numerous times before, even though i've only been there once under a guest privilege from a friend. So I'm curious where he saw me before that. He also told me that I had to pay 20 bucks for a day pass because I was there before. Based off of the fine print in the 3 day guest pass, it states that the guest pass is valid to new members/per 6 months. I went everywhere on the website and did not see anything about paying 20 bucks for a day pass. In the end I paid the 20 bucks just to be able to workout with my friend. Would I ever come back here? Probably not as there are other gyms that treat their guests much better.

I agree w/ Michael S. + plentiful parking (obv depends on what time you go) + well lit (even though I prefer the dim light / dark settings) + clean shower facility w/ hairdryer available + loads and loads of lockers + sauna (I have yet to try) I read that the kids' club is no more, and I saw that they have a protein cafe. Not sure if it's open and operable though. My daughter is living w/ me temporarily so helps me by taking Gavin to school 2x a week. Since I'm coming into work 2-3x a week, I figured I can work out here and go straight to work afterwards. Unlike the location off of Cherry Ave., this location opens up their doors at least 1-2 minutes ahead so members can start checking in and get going about their routine. The location on Cherry Ave. is never early and is at times late by 2-3 minutes. I just wish their hours are 24/7 though.

The gym is good, has all the workout machines. Gets crowded in evenings as expected.Zumba classes are great, there is one each day which is the best part!Love the zumba trainers especially sheila and yuki ❤️

Eeeesh, never again. Been to various city sports around teh bay area, and this gym is the most super duper crowded. Feels a lot like 24 hours fitness.

The gym is great with good equipment and all but there’s a huge queue to use smith machine or any bench at the very least. This long wait demotivates you. Also the staff giving some personal training will never let you use that area though there’s no one using the personal training area, it was just empty for an hour. Very rude staff.

I came in as a guest and Rod at the front made sure I knew my way around and had a quick and easy check in. I'm looking forward to becoming a member after my pass expires.

The gym is wonderful, but I do hope they could provide paper towels in the bathrooms. Unfortunately, the women's restroom lacks them, which becomes problematic, particularly after using the sauna and sweating. Pleeeeeease provide paper towels!!!! ☺️

This gym is pretty useful in that it has plenty of amenities. The employees know what they are doing -- for the most part and are there for your service. A typical gym day goes like this for me: Hit the gym at 8 am, use the bicycle for a good work-out, then hit the gym again in the afternoon to use the elliptical I've tried the workout machines at the back of the gym before, but really honestly don't know what to do. I thought that the handy dandy diagrams would be helpful, but they're not. Now back to the part about the typical gym day. I usually like getting my caramel frappe fix from the nearby McDonald's, let it sit in the car, and then reward myself right after the work out. Mm nothing like a nice cold drink after a good run at the gym

Good amenities but bad business practice. You can only cancel during 9-5 weekdays, not weekend. You can only cancel in person. You cannot bring in a guest to try out the gym although their website says you can. Overall, it's a scam. The hassle is not worth it.
