Items seem overpriced. Nicer than the dollar store, but not worth 5x the price . . .

If I could give 0 stars I would! The associates are very helpful, but the manager Maggie is horrible. When I went shopping there, I seen her tell a young associate to go do some tasks assuming the manager would assist her, however, she went to the back office and never came out to assist her associate. I also heard her gossiping about other employees and yelling at an associate about bagging even if the customer does not want a bag and to make sure on the feedback after paying to put 5 stars if the customer does not do the feedback. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau.

I will not step foot in this location again. Last week I waited in line for 20 minutes, only to finally get up to the self checkout register to find out that you could only pay cash because the system was down. No one not to mention that to anybody who had been waiting in line. Maybe posted a sign on the registers. No, the registers still said open, and we’re ready to take customers… But technically they weren’t There was one employee that was going from machine to machine, but he was takingcare of a personal phone call at the time using his his earbuds. And to make things even more exciting I can’t find my wallet so I’ve been trying to retrace steps so I thought I would go ahead and call the store and ask them. I called six times the first five times somebody clearly answered the phone and then hung up on me before I could even ask a question. I did not get a response until I got the sense that the phone was picked up and I started talking immediately. I can only imagine what would happen if there was some sort of emergency situation. Clearly Five Below should be called Five Below a Common Sense IQ. What a joke.

This was a fun experience to be had for sure! They opened this up a while back, and I've been wanting to shop here for the longest time, but I never had an opportunity to do so. Recently, my husband and I had some time after shopping at target and because it's in the same shopping Center we decided to come here real quick. Upon walking in, there's immediately merchandise right there maybe 3 feet away from the door. I have never really looked into what sort of place this is so I really didn't know what to expect in regards to what the name meant, but I was able to confirm upon looking at the prices. Pretty much everything in here is five dollars or below, for the most part, things are marked on what their prices are, and they are sometimes these random Prices that you wouldn't normally see in big retail stores but it's interesting because it made me think that I was spending less or that this business was being more honest in the fact that they had these odd prices. When I say odd prices, I just mean like I would see an item, and instead of being marked as $3.99 or $3.50, you would see the item marked as $3.75. My husband and I walked around the entire store and we kind of had to hurry because apparently we did go there closer to closing time, but we still enjoyed seeing everything that they had to offer. A lot of what we saw you can find at like the dollar store, or in more niche mom and Pop shops. There was quite a bit there that I wouldn't find in target or Walmart so it's an interesting contrast to the usual stores we frequent.Towards the back, I noticed larger items at different prices that are higher than five dollars but there was nothing that made me think "that's too much". My husband and I actually ended up getting quite a hall from here, even though we didn't really anticipate shopping, but we found quite a bit that we were interested in and we thought our kids would be interested in as well. They did have some dog toys, they have regular toys, they have some clothing items in the back right, they have cosmetics And holiday stuff, they have candies and a little bit of prepackaged foods, there's some fun entertainment items in the back left, all around. It was a very diverse selection, and it was enjoyable just to walk around and see everything. When we were done shopping, we walked to the front and realize that there was actually no teller to go to, it's all self check out. They do have an employee there that immediately comes over if you are experiencing any issue whatsoever, we did actually scan something twice by accident so as soon as we looked up, he made eye contact and he came right over. I think the prices overall are very reasonable, there's some things that aren't super cheap, you would probably see it at other locations and I think the price was relatively the same, but there's other things here that you could find, and be surprised that it's located here at a reasonable or much cheaper costFor those who are into anime, because I am, I did actually find a decent anime inspired selection here. I got a couple jujutsu Kaisen bobble heads, and they had various other items, but I was really focused on the jujitsu ones. Overall, I think the prices are reasonable, the selection is great, and I would recommend coming here if you're trying to find some every day items or even gifts for others this holiday season, but not trying to break the bank.

It is almost like Dollar Tree but it's $five dollars to below. They have awesome stuff to shop. I meant everything. Toys to clothes to posters to techs. I like this store. Some are not in stock. All you have to ask the staff for it. I suggest you NOT to shop online. They will refuse to refunds your shipping costs that you paid for. They took advantage of it. Only your items that's it. The company keep your shipping costs money. smh. On their website they did mention this, So do avoid shopping online!! Go in person! You'll find lot of fun stuff there. I'll be back in person shopping. Go fun shop!!

My 10 year old dragged me to this place because TikTok hyped this store up. All the cool things posted in videos were not available and out of stock. This place is like a super expensive $1 dollar store with a few extra nicknacks.

O - M - FREAKIN G!!!!! I've died and gone to heaven! I'm a Dollar Tree junkie and this store is her long lost younger, more hip, up to date little sister! While I'll continue to make Dollar Tree my go-to store for in the moment craft necessities and other minor essential and non essential stuff, I know now that if I'm goin to Dollar Tree, then I'm goin to Five Below!!!!First time in this store tonight, never heard of it until my son told me about it! San Jose store is clean, tidy, organized and pretty big - a dedicated section to all things LED, Android, iPhone and basic electronics accessories! As for the crafting section, from what I saw it's mostly paper, paint, gel pens etc. but don't quote me on anything - go there and experience for yourself since I only had 30 min to shop before closing! If you like Dollar Tree, then you'll love Five Below!

The store is cool, they have a good variety on a lot of cute toys, books, accessories & clothes. However, a staff member made my 11 year old neice feel extremely uncomfortable. We were ringing our things up at the self check out & all of a sudden, we heard someone directly behind us clicking their pen really fast, non-stop. We look back & there is a staff member just staring at us with a blank face. Other customers walked up to the self check out & she greeted them in a warm, friendly tone but kept staring at us. My neice was finishing paying & she approached her from behind, getting really close to her. She asked her if she's paying cash, and she was so she asked my niece to get all her things & follow her to another register. Her tone in which she spoke to us was really arrogant, but somehow she was really friendly to everyone else. I would hate to think this was a race issue, but I can't help but feel like we got racially profiled.

Adorable stuff for kids, home, plenty of headphones and lights. Lots of activity toys for kids, work out stuff and even some clothes. Tons of snacks too.

A lot of disorganization; as much as the staff was trying to put back items that customers left in random parts of the store, there were more just lying around haphazardly. Also, the toy selection was very bare or non-existent, total hit or miss if you're looking for specific ones. More than likely will just shop online and ship to home, may get luckier with stock available for shipment.

There are just some items you are paying over than other retailers but I did find some good deals on some stuff. Store was clean and well stocked. The only bad part is there is no cashier on duty, it is all self checkout. But I will be back.
