I rented a gas car and used 57 miles according to my return rental. Then they charged me $78 to fill the tank that they said I returned at half full. First, how can you use a half tank of gas by driving 57 miles and second, I have my gas receipt showing I refilled prior to brining back the rental. The second issue is they charged me $25 for an EV charge on a gas car. Who does that? Worst rental return ever!!! LOOK AT YOUR RECEIPTS WITH THIS HERTZ!!!!!

These people are ripping people off. They charge you for some preexisting unnoticeable stain on the window and call it a chip. The car has been driven for 25000+ miles and it was already in a poor condition. Somebody else will sure fall for the same trap.

Proceed with caution. They force you to buy their insurance even when your credit card covers rental insurance. It gets worse, I was rented a 10+ year old car that's been abused and when i return it they claimed a small chip on the windshield was my fault. Guess what, their insurance they made me buy didn't cover it... you cant make this up. They charged my card 550 $

I am so upset. We had an absolutely awful experience with Hertz at the San Jose Airport. We have family of eight, and we reserved an eight passenger mini van. We were in town for a brief four day visit and had a very tight itinerary, We got to the desk with all our kids after a long flight, including our overtired infant, only to be told they didn't have an eight passenger, only a seven passenger. The eight passenger would be returned the next day and they expected us to come back to the airport and exchange the car. We are gold members, and there was no voucher or coupon with apology. Just an "oh well" attitude. We cancelled our rental with Hertz and thankfully Budget was able to get us a rental that fit our family. We will think twice before ever using Hertz again. HORRIBLE service.

I accidentally left my entire key chain attached to the rental car key in the ignition when I dropped my car off, which I realized when I was on the plane on the way back. I submitted the online report when I landed and called multiple times. I could never reach a human that didn't route me to a voicemail. My keys never turned up. When I went back through the San Jose airport the following month I went to the counter and asked for them to check that my keys hadn't been improperly logged and explained what happened with my receipt and lost item report. They blew me off and told me someone flew back from China once and didn't get her items either. They also said they never make mistakes in logging items. The only other time I left an item in a rental car, it was a set of headphones that Enterprise mailed back to me. No more Hertz

I was overcharged for fuel on Mar 8,2024. They just assumed that I did not refuel, however, I did. To dispute it I have to waste my time and submit a receipt. I will not be using Hertz anymore. I will also complain to my company to have Hertz removed from the list of approved companies.

I rented a Tesla model 3 from Priceline but got unexpected fees from Hertz.I left Hertz at a charging level of 93%. When I was about to return the car 2 days later, I chose the nearest available Tesla Supercharging station and charged it to 91% according to Tesla's recommended charging directions. I then drove back to SJC Hertz, and the employee told me everything was okay. However, several days later, I received a receipt of $55.34 from Hertz. So I contacted Hertz customer service, and they said it was due to the returning charge level being under 80%.But when I checked my MileIQ record, the journey from the Tesla Supercharging point(20745 Stevens Creek Blvd, Cupertino, CA 95014) to SJC Hertz was only 14.1 miles away and took a total of 28 minutes from 06:53 pm to 07:21 pm. How could this 14.1-mile journey cost more than 12% of power? The customer service kept asking me to provide evidence that I returned the car with more than 80% charge and would not check the vehicle's charging history to confirm my claim. From my perspective, their claim that the vehicle was under an 80% charge level is dishonest, and their customer service does not take their responsibility seriously.I recommend not renting a car from Hertz until they have made significant improvements on this issue.

Easy to get to at airport (not off airport). President circle car selection was decent. Quick exist to most important local highways.

Wanted a gas powered Corolla. Was forced into a Hydrid Van. Asked for a gas vehicle and they said that they "didn't have any"........ Get what you reserve and ask for, don't let the management force you into vehicles they can't rent out. Especially if it's from the "Presidential Circle" ..... What a scam, renters be beware if shady practices here.If they do otherwise hit them in their surveys.

Pretty good and seamless experience for me. No line at the counter, check in took less than 5 minutes. The car was at the assigned space, I did a quick walk through, marked it on the paper and dropped it off with the attendant upon exit. Car return was a quick drop off with key inside it. No additional charges on my end. The car performed as advertised.
