Kindred Hospice took care of both my mother and my father before they passed away. Nurses Sara and Lloyd were very caring and compassionate. They kept me informed of my parents' condition and anything new that was going on with their care. I am sure I neglected to mention other nurses that also took care of my parents and provided excellent care. The other team members (Chaplain Chris, Kriya the social worker and Tshala) were fantastic as well.My parents wanted to die in their own home instead of a facility. I am glad that I found Kindred Hospice because my parents were made comfortable in their home and I was able to honor their last wishes. I thank everyone from Kindred Hospice who made that possible with their fantastic care.I would highly recommend Kindred Hospice to anyone who needs hospice care for a loved one.

When we received the devastating news about my dad, we were in shock and from the first contact of referral to the care from the team, we were treated with compassion and skilled nursing every step of the way. Thank you.

When doctor told us my dad needs to be at hospice, due to his terminal disease, I had not much idea what does hospice care exactly mean. Even though I am a physician myself but I did not know the extend of help and care hospice can provide us at home. The staff including nurses, aids and social worker are great and always available. The availability of medicine and equipments and the way they provide them to you is fantastic. But the doctors are not available for patient's family and never meet with patient and the family even once. Which I consider not a common practice. As a physician myself, I never had a question for the doctor, but I believe it is not only a safe practice but also morally acceptable to see your patient and family at least once, or that's what we do in this country. Doctors just have weekly meeting with their staff. I am sure they try to take care of their patients, but I am not sure if this is the standard way. Sometimes from what I see in their orders I am wondering if they know even the meaning of hospice and how much knowledge they have about it in all aspects including medicine, emotional and ... Despite all these I can't ask for better help and care for my terminally ill dad at this difficult time while we try to keep him at home hospice and I owe it only to aids and nurses at hospice. One time I had a request and the manager was so involved and available that I could take care of that issue immediately. Thank you again and force be with you all.

My first interaction with Kindred Hospice was a phone call from Dawn. I knew from that very first call, that I was connecting with the right Hospice to take care of my Mom during her last weeks. Dawn was compassionate, and was so helpful taking on details for me, so, I could focus on what was most important to me...my Mom!! Dawn always was just a phone call away, and always ready to help in any situation. Even beyond that, all the staff that came to my Mom's home, showed the same respect and compassion, which was so important to Mom and to me and our family. I am so grateful to Kindred Hospice, for all they did for my Mom, and for my family. They helped us during a time, that we were at such a loss. Thank you, Dawn, and all at Kindred for making a difficult time in our lives a little easier.

They only catheter draw for UTI specimen. If Urologist ordered you no cath draws, then try different hospice. They refused Lab results. Their RN "cath is most sterile" specimen. I told Mgr I need complaint form, she asked why, I explained test and Lab results, she said she'd tell case mgr to order Rx. Instead, she sent Rn to collect cath specimen, per Rn. Infection, discomfort prolonged. Kindred lab results SAME as Lab. Waste of time. Fyi: antibiotic including Cipro available in LIQUID form instead of big pill. Kindred uses Fremont pharmacy who told me they don't do Cipro anymore - caused delay that also prolonged infection, discomfort. Regular drugstores "don't have it" on shelf, but need % and Rx to order it, then will mix it when it arrives next day. At first, Kindred would've had 5*s: "choose schedule and any Caregiver, M or F, Eng or Span." Our first RN Ari, EXCELLENT. Without explaining, they exchanged her with non hand hygiene practitioner (+ issues, thanks to former Mgr for getting Ari back to us). Had Caregiver 9 a.m., 1hr a day, 5 days a week. Days off, subs were SUB par (one double-dipped dirty disposable wipe, contaminated water. Not current with novel hygienic and non-injury practices). Everyone's relieved caregiver does dirty work but it's irresponsible to not observe patient during care to be sure it's done right, until trustworthy. Unless you watch, some will take shortcuts and your loved one is at risk for opportunistic infections. They provided supplies inc non-allergic gentle soap, chux, masks, and gloves, etc. Although patient worsened, Caregiver help was cut to M-W-F. Recently, without telling us, no one showed up Monday - Caregiver's Mondays were cut. We have run out of supplies although we pre-ordered with Kindred. Example: last week they were called and texted needed supplies, today 7/29 - still no supplies. Per packing list, upon order, it takes two days to deliver. A few months ago they stopped providing us masks. I was told yesterday they "will not be providing gloves" anymore. To shop for other hospice is in order but not during Covid and as death is imminent.

So far so good. Extremely professional, sensitive to our needs, helpful and understanding. This is a very difficult time for our family. Kindred has been there from home health to now hospice. My father can. Be a difficult person but they havent let that affect our relationship or care that they provide. Cannot thank you enough. Thank you Kindred and team!

Compassionate people. Supportive, respectful, really great organization. T'Shala, the ladies who do teddy bears, the nurses and all the others whose names I forgot are all to be greatly thanked by my family.
