I honestly could not believe this was a Lee’s. The one I usually go to next to Pekoe is super different. The ambience is amazing, super modern looking. The banh mis not my personal favorite, the bread doesn’t hit the same.

Lee's sandwich shop was a quick stop for lunch while in town for an event so made the walk over to order up since the online order was not available until 6pm. Instantly you knew why it was a bit unorganized in the ordering and order come out process. Multiple people saying I ordered this and got the incorrect item and I'm talking a chicken skewer ordered ended up coming out as a sandwich. After getting through the ordering process you get your number and each item gets called out one by one rather than getting the entire order out in one so you end up with 5 bags. The food was tasty, the #6 bbq pork bahn mi wasn't the best I've had but it was tasty, the bread had great texture and balance of crunch and chew and the filling paired well with the sweetness from the pork, the vinegar punch of the picked veggies and the spice from the jalapeño paired well. The sandwich was a great size for the price as well and filling so a bargain if you split it or save half for later on the day. The spring rolls were refreshing and fresh with a balanced peanut sauce for dipping. All in all a good meal but with the now open sign out front I think some time to fix some of the kinks out would make it even better.

Lee's is always a reminder of my college days back when banh mi was about $3 - $5 and life was a lot simpler. I wasn't originally planing on grabbing a sandwich until I noticed an entirely new, vegan menu. Damn, they got me gal - all $16 of my vegan chicken katsu banh mi. Their sandwich was just as I remembered. Fried mock chicken katsu with pickled veggies, jalapeños, and cilantro tucked inside a toasty baguette. I honestly can't remember if there was an actual spread inside since I ordered the vegan option, but it was still a good enough sandwich. I'm surprised to see that they offer mock meats now but it was definitely worth a try. For the price though, I likely won't be returning anytime soon. I don't know if I can justify spending nearly $20 on a sandwich again that used to cost me less than $10, even with how crazy inflation has been over the years.

It's definitely a nice clean sandwich shop. However, the sandwiches are very very skimpy. Whether it's the meat veggies they are very light. I would never recommend being that It cost $10 plus. Very unfortunate because some locations are very good.

Eh, 3 stars for Lee's Sandwiches. Vietnamese don't really go here anymore, they are more Americanized now. I only go buy Knick knacks stuff from here once in a blue moon

A good place if you need to grab food before class! I was originally looking for coffee before class and ended up seeing a Lee's Sandwiches and decided to get my coffee here instead. I had heard of Lee's sandwiches from some friends and decided to grab a grilled pork banh Mi as well! The workers took a while to notice that I was waiting in line and were having a conversation but after they realized they took my order quickly. They then greeted and took the other people's orders. The grilled pork banh mi was huge! It was super flavorful. I wish they had cut it in half so I could package the part that I didn't finish. I also got a blended coffee which was good.

What Bay Area sandwich deli doesn't carry sourdough bread? I can't believe it. Just wow!

* vegan chicken katsu sandwich - great, but bread was a bit too hard for my likingWould be amazing to see even a greater portion of their menu be plant-based in the future!

Came during lunch to come grab a turkey avocado sandwich. Overall great sandwich, plenty of sitting on the inside. I was greeted by an indifferent staff person and ambiance was bland. Free 90 minute parking in the Downtown city garages.

From the outside I thought it looked suspect but from the inside it looked great. The menu looked delicious and we were excited to have found a gem .... but My BBQ pork banh mi looked better than it tasted. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. However, my wife got a bowl and got food poisoning. It was the first meal she ate and she immediately felt bad. Diarrhea and vomit for days and she couldn't keep, even a small amount of water, tea, or soup. She didn't get dehydrated enough to need medical care but it was a horrid experience. I had a slightly upset stomach for a few days but I only had a bite of her food. Look at the reviews, some reviews are great but also look at the bad reviews .... we're never coming back.

I hate to give a Lee's anything less than 5 stars, but I stopped in the other day, and it was a fail. I noticed they had chicken wings and pork egg rolls. Great, I thought, easy and greasy, will keep me going a while. So I asked for these things .... I was the only customer in the shop so it wasn't that, it's just that the guy behind the counter didn't quite seem to have a basic idea of how a retail transaction works. Helpfully, I tried to explain that I wanted to buy 5 chicken wings (let us get over that hurdle first and then we'll try gently introducing the idea of the pork egg rolls) but the guy just kind of "bluescreened"."Oh, wait!" I said, making body language like I might be looking at a watch, or something. "I have to go do something, I'll be back later", I said brightly. And boogied on out of there, over to the "real" Lee's over on Santa Clara. So good luck, everyone. There's another Lee's in the same complex with Grocery Outlet that I've been going to for years and it's always been fine even if that area is a bit more "interesting".

Super convenient location downtown near SJSU. Fairly new, so it's very clean and the service is quick and friendly. Been here a few times now and it's been very consistent. I usually get the grilled pork banh mi and always ask for extra pickled veggies, cucumber, and cilantro. Also highly recommend the eggrolls since they're always hot and crispy- the shrimp one is the best!
