They are a horrible service. They wouldn’t leave us alone after we were interviewed in, and consistently checked in for no reason. I wouldn’t suggest this for first time renters

The place looks nice don’t get me wrong but the security team is just horrible went to visit and was immediately profiled for hanging out in my car one thing is to do ur job and observe and report another is to walk up knock on my car window with ur flash light and try to interrogate me and anyone in my vehicle as to what we are doing or waiting for. Was highly considering moving in until I had this experience. Security team is worse than top-flight

The apartments are nice as far as the apartment itself and amenities but the security is outrageous coming and knocking on the door at 11pm at night completely inappropriate waking my kids up to tell us someone complained we are smoking when everyone in my house is trying to sleep. This isn’t the first time it has happened either! The office is all online or over the phone and they never get back to you. I wouldn’t really recommend this property the way it’s ran.

I was in a hurry to move into a new room at the meridian at midtown apartment. The community relations team did help me a lot with the smooth and fast process. Melina, Kaitlynn and many other staff at the leasing office communicated with me daily so that I could move in at my preferred and much needed date. Additionally, when it comes to paperwork, Brandon's help was immaculate for me. Even the manager Jose was there all the way assisting me with the move in request. I couldn't be more thankful for what they have done for me. I am now happily living with my friends at the meridian at midtown and I would like to highly encourage future tenants to confidently apply for it.

I was here a year. Essex is AWFUL. They knit pick about things like door mats outside your door, or decorating as well or even leaving anything on your porch. My neighbors had a beautiful garden and they were told to remove it all when Essex took over.I left a pumpkin outside my door for the holidays and maintenance stole it/took it away.If you call them it goes straight to voicemail. Or they hang up on you mid call. The staff is indifferent tbh, the maintenance works very hard but you can tell their team is spread thin- seen several different maintenance techs cycle out in this last year alone. There was this annoying alarm that would go off all hours. Of the night and no one would shut it off at all for hours- it pierced my ears while I slept n kept me up nonstop.I’m not a fan of Essex- you can’t live comfortably here without someone leaving a note on your door to stop- stop leaving your door mat out, or they call you to tell you not to leave trash outside your door while you are in the middle of cleaning and need to place it outside for a MOMENT. They shortened the pool hours and the gym hours too so now basically the amenities are in working hours so ppl can’t come home from work and work out without rushing through. The fact that there is public housing across from us kinda makes the whole property worse too- I’ve found women’s underwear in the grass I’ve found needles, I’ve found a whole salon shampooing station that was somehow brought there and left in our court yard?? At night you get the same junky cars that park along the street n ppl who live in them. The population is ok- but it was a shock at first bc you could tell it was getting messier and dirtier. Safeway shopping carts left in the court yard, full of who knows what.I’m glad they got rid of these palm trees that were rotting bc I had flies in my house for the whole summer.Skip Essex- they ask too much and give you very little. Probably treat their staff less than too.

My stove was cracked and once I reported, they were here in less than 10 minutes. So friendly. Didn't leave a mess.

There is no negative rating here if so then I would give the least number to this apartment and Essex community. When we paid for the unit and ready to move in then they called us a day before and told that unit is not ready yet and it needs more than a month. On top of that they didn’t issued complete refund for the payment made and cutting off the call while contacting.Worst community and maintenance. Don’t trust Essex community apartments especially Meridian at midtown apartment

Been here 3 years and as a pet owner I really enjoy that there is a dog park in the back that stays well lit even in to the late hours and they provide doggy bags for all the residents.I also went from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom and was worried things would suck trying to transfer over but Amanda in the from leasing area took great care of the situation and never made me feel like I was giving her a lot of work although I know I was . She is one of the ones that treats the residents kindly and really cares about her job and it shows in the way she takes her time to explain things . Thank you team and thank you Amanda for all the help

At Meridian at Midtown, finding a new home becomes an enchanting adventure thanks to the lovely ladies in the leasing department, with Amanda leading the way like the star of a romantic comedy. Her beauty is matched only by her warmth, and every interaction feels like a scene from a love story, making the process of finding an apartment feel like a joyful journey.Living at Meridian at Midtown is a dream come true, not just because of the stunning apartments, but also because of the exceptional team that makes it all come together. Amanda's radiant smile and genuine care create a sense of belonging that goes beyond four walls. The charming atmosphere she and her colleagues create turns this place into more than just a residence--it's a place where memories are made, connections are forged, and love stories unfold.

Leaving a review for two Essex communities. I currently live in Century Towers but toured Midtown and the on-site employees, Melina & Amanda, we're wonderful and welcoming. Apartments we're updated and clean and seemed quiet. I went with century towers solely based on location but I urge you to tour Midtown! You won't be disappointed by their units and exceptional customer service!

Professional, fast, and reliable. It does not get better than that. I have had the pleasure of having the services from Meridian make my life easier. They do a great job in assessing the need, fixing it, and they also provide info on how to keep up with any kind of repairs. Solid work and solid people.

Initially, I enjoyed living at Meridian at Midtown. Over the course of living there for 2 years, it became increasingly terrible. I'll start off by letting potential renters know- EXPECT HUGE RENT INCREASES. Want to renew your lease? My rent increased nearly $400 in 2 years of living here! We all know that prices in the Bay Area are high, but this is by no means a "luxury" apartment complex worthy of charging such grossly high rent. If luxury means extremely noisy streets, elevators being down DAILY- yes it was down to a daily basis of being broken by the time I moved out, false fire alarms in the middle of the night, broken gated parking, outdated gym equipment, and loud cries from the unhoused population on the street nightly, then Meridian at Midtown, please keep it. Despite having security walking the perimeters at night, and a garage that's double gated (when the garage doors decide to work), AND being on the 4th floor, my car was broken into. I did not even have anything in sight in my car, nothing was taken. Just a broken window. To which Essex provided no help and suggested, well...nothing.Throughout most of my stay here, I lived above a couple that would get into domestic violence disputes almost daily. The domestic violence was so loud, that I could hear the screaming from upstairs and my apartment would shake. I contacted management, who again, "could not do much" I just had to wait until they moved out.The worst part comes when it's time to move out. Despite taking great care of my apartment, my entire deposit was kept. Even worse? they are claiming I owe Essex over $400 in move out fees, ON TOP OF KEEPING MY ENTIRE DEPOSIT. As the review below me mentioned, they will make up things to take your money. They are claiming my dishwasher door is broken, which was working perfectly fine. In fact, I used it the day prior to moving out. Painting fees, cleaning fees of over $300, along with a bunch of other ridiculous fees. (Who requires tenants to clean air vents in the ceiling?!) Prior to writing this, I looked up Essex reviews which are horrible in themself. Including multiple past residents stating receiving notice of hundreds of dollars owed, 4 years after move out! I have pictures that show my apartment was left in excellent condition, but since a past resident already did that, I'll spare posting the same review. Essex and Meridian are a complete scam, take our word or learn for yourself.

Super noisy and they raised the rent 10% this year. They wouldn't even negotiate despite using realpage which is under federal investigation for price fixing rents across the country.Other perks:- Garage door broken so it's stuck open all the time. Closed on its own and damaged my car randomly. It's taken over a month to learn what can actually be done about it due to poor communication. I was refused access to district management for basically no reason. Holding community staff accountable to their jobs is nearly impossible.- Elevators out of service weekly.- key fob profiles deleted at random so many residents can't get into the building or elevators.Avoid this development.
