Very sloppy job - the bottom of the heels on both shoes came back all scratched. My nice suede shoes are now ruined. And he charges $32 cash / total rip off. I don't understand how people can be so unprofessional!

Brought my riding boot to B Repaired. Needed zippers on $1800 riding boots, glued back sole on outside toe. Somehow the sides of the boot became hardened -like a rock and unwearable maybe due to attempt to heat and stretch the leather. used boots for a week with one boot way too tight due to Mr. Montavista causing it to no longer fit. He never replaced the zippers but I think he said he fixed them and his fix didn'it last beyond the week. $400! Shop owner said boot was already hard -i did it. Said he cant replace zipper-should've told me that the first time. And I really wanted to believe that Mr. Monte Vista with all his years of experience could produce solid craftsmanship yet he didn't even do what I asked. I took my boots to another cobbler who is replacing the zippers with metal zippers. I asked Mr. Monte Vista for a refund

I don't know what's wrong with the owner. Every time I come and ask him to fix something - he seems to make up an excuse as to why he can't do it. I end up getting the work done somewhere else. I am not sure if this guy even wants to be in business anymore

I recently took my watch to this business. The crown is very stiff, when I try to wind my watch. Attendant at this shop tried to open the back of this watch. He was not able to open the back, several times. He finally open the back lid with a chisel and hammer. He put a little oil at the crown's stem, thinking it might help. The attendant could not put the watch back cover back on. I took it to another watch repair shop. He noticed that the back lid is warped, so the lid will not go back on. The back lid will have to be replaced. This is a vintage watch, the back lid will be hard to find another lid. I took the watch home, the crown stem broke. So my watch is a useless junk. Do not go to this shop for watch repair. This shop is not a certified watch repairer. Do not bring your watch to this shop.

I've lived in the area for years and didn't know about this gem of a shop. The gentleman treated me with kindness and was honest as he shared his expertise. For years Ive been using a different cobbler in Palo Alto and hated the lack of customer service and expensive prices. I'm thrilled to find such a kind and lovely local shop.

The owner of this store is a magician! I brought him two purses that were unusable but he used some ingenuity and great skill in salvaging them both for me. One of them is about 70 years old and was made by my grandfather so I hated to throw it away and now thanks to Monta Vista Show Repair, it has a new lease on life. Thanks so much!!!

If you have Birkenstocks and notice that the heel is starting to wear down to the cork, it's a good idea to have the heel portion of the sole replaced. Replacing the heel portion of the sole was only $35. If I needed to replace the entire sole, it would have been $90 - which is note much less than buying a new pair. I also like the fact that this business is open most days. I called other repair shops and they had very limited hours/days. The actual repair only took a few days. Heads up - you must pay by cash or check. They don't take credit card, Venmo, PayPal, etc.
