I think they changed staff, employees are very rude and very bad at selling. First bad experience happened when I went to buy green cheeky conure, the young lady didn't let me buy the one I wanted. I thought they knew better, I bought what she recommended, she was pretty rude through out my conversation, she keep telling me I don't know anything. I will never recommend anyone to go there. Second one , when I went to buy small fish to feed my turtle, it was my 3rd time buying, the lady told me they can not sell it for that purpose. I asked her why did they sell it to me one the first time, she told me she didn't know who sell it to me. I will never go to these pet co ever. I felt really sad, it was really nice place before. I didn't know what happened.

I did not have a pleasant experience at this location. I came in for a pick up order issue (that was made by them) and I felt like it was handled very rudely. If there is an issue with the system, I totally get it, sometimes it doesn't cover all kinds of situations. BUT what I don't expect is for them to treat me with disrespect because they don't understand the issue that they have made....I've always had good experiences at Petco, but this experience is going to keep me away from this location for a while. That being said, I really hope this was a one off experience.

It is a warning to pet parents! Do not come to Vetco inside Petco 271/San Jose, CA, or any location. Don't mix the vet service and store. The Petco store is excellent. The staff is friendly and helpful, but once you get involved with Vetco or Grooming, it's unprofessional from the team and the veterinarian. Our Experience: The mobile pet service from the crew at Vetco, Bryanna N. and Stephanie B., working our appt day, and vet Amanda Clouser, license #vet22645, were rude and unprofessional. The vet didn't speak to us the entire time, had no acknowledgment, did not make eye contact, and had her back toward us. There was no communication when it was time for the oral heartworm. Instead of asking us to remove the muzzle, they told me to give it at home. I asked that they do it there. The check-in person returned the dog to the table and did it herself while the vet turned away and then placed our pet on the middle of the floor behind her and walked away. The dog was not secure, and no one had the leash. She left the dog and didn't say a word. Their demeanor and actions are not acceptable. I asked if we were done, no communication, no thank you. Have a nice day, nothing. As we left, I said her service was rude. While waiting up front to speak with management, we saw the vet, Amanda Clouser, license #vet22645 walking towards the exit. We said excuse me several times. She ignored us and proceeded to walk out to her car. Her attitude in her profession is unbelievable. We trusted/allowed you to care for our pet, but you can't have a conversation about the service we just received. Not even an apology or asking if the service was okay with staff given what had all happened. Weird. The filthy dressed, hair in six colors, messy ponytail with a bull piercing, watch out for her. The handling of our pet was improper. She observed we were taking precautions by holding our pet and not allowing him on the dirty ground, knowing not all the shots had not been done. Placing a new puppy on the floor where other animals have been is not recommended. The service: Unprofessional, rude to customers, and doesn't have the decency to hand our dog to us, look at us, and thank us. We canceled all appointments and will spread the word about this business on other platforms. Petco: Jenn, the manager at Petco, is a lovely woman. She assured us that she would contact the Vetco management by email and review the video footage. We hope she keeps her word and follows through. Please, PETCO, don't bring these people "crew" back if you want to keep customers - families walk in and out of your business every day and come to care for their pets, but don't expect to be treated as such, especially in front of their kids.

I called this location thirty minutes before closing. The girl who answered my call was very sweet and patient with me. I asked for a stock check After she went to find the item I was asking about she offered to put them on hold for me. I expressed I would cut it close to closing and she didn't even express concern. She even gave me a discount to what their website was offering. Bonus: she spelled my name currently and didn't even ask! She had them ready and waiting for when I walked in the door like this! Whoever you are 'kell' you're awesome! I will be shopping here from now on because of you.

I see why the reviews for this place are so low . Yesterday i was denied the ability to purchase a $9 fish for my children - KAYLA SPOKE DOWM ON ME AND STATED THAT I DIDNT LOOK LIKE I COULD PROVIDE THIS FISH A HOME. Looked down on me multiple times stating that I didn't know the care for a little fish when I let her know I have 4 more beta at home that I have purchase from this establishment prior, she just flat out refused me the sale. Idk if it's because I had just come from working out and didn't look my best but I felt so discriminated by my appearance OR maybe because I got a little upset and she acted as tho "she didn't feel safe" maybe it was because I'm brown.... I asked to speak to the manager, and she proceeded to tell me that she was the manager. I asked to speak with the assistant manager, she whispered for two seconds and completely walked way, I proceeded to speak to nick , he didn't even have a care for what I had to say, and just flat out said no . later found out that was untrue about Kayla being manager , she s a shift lead . She's a liar Fast forward to the next day as my white husband went in to purchase the fish our kids so desperately wanted , another cashier plus Kayla we're at the register. Nick and Kayla saw him with me and he was not asked the same questions or was even questioned on his ability to care for this fish . Im never this person but this could not be a more clear example of discrimination . I wasn't dressed in workout clothes and my children were with me . Kayla has lgtbq stickers all over her name tag , as someone that comes from a group that constantly deals with discrimination you'd think "she, him ,they" would carry themselves in a more loving accepting way , not to harass a woman than wanted to do something nice for her children... and if you really were passionate about the fish why not express those same values the next day again when we came in to purchase the same fish . The store is wonderful.... Betta fish area needs more love if we're going to have these requirements. And most importantly get Kayla off your team - I've spoken to friends that have gone to this pet store before and have has similar issues with her

Do not take your dog here to get groomed unless you want your instructions completely ignored. We brought our beautiful chocolate Parti Yorkie here and they absolutely butchered him. The staff is completely incompetent and shaved him bald even though we only asked for a trim. I would give them credit for giving us a full refund, if that even came close to compensating us for ruining our dogs beautiful coat. Please avoid this place for grooming at all costs.

I feed my cats specific wet food like the canned chicken by Wellness. My cats digest better with this food vs other brands. I come here because the food I buy for my cats are always in stock plus the people here are super friendly.

I came in with my family (two toddlers), first just to get crickets (they were sold out, no worries) and spontaneously decided to get a fish. We were going to just get a goldfish, something they would just look at. The first person who approached us was helpful and educated us on tanks and what not. All my life I've never been not able to get a goldfish without a tank with a filter and all of that, kind of felt like we were being forced to buy extra stuff. So we said never mind and then later changed our minds to get a betta fish because today was a special day for us and a fish would help us with our Memorial Day. Once we had everything another person came up to us telling us the tank we got wasn't actually good for betta fish, even though it was a tank for beta fish. It made me feel like we were doing something wrong when we just wanted to make a simple trip and get a fish for the girls. Educating one is always nice but it's the approach that was bothersome, had we had asked it also would've been helpful but we were bombarded as if we were taking the FISH to a bad home. I gave three stars because I get they're probably just doing their job but maybe just work on the approach. I could see if we were getting a whole aquarium or even a actual animal but again at first we just wanted a simple goldfish. I promise the fish will be well taken care of...

Just wanted to leave a shout out to dog trainer Kyle. After working with our rescue puppy in a class setting, he realized that the group class was not a good fit for her. Kyle and the store manager went above and beyond in ensuring that we got a refund on the class credits we had purchased online so that we could get our puppy the 1-1 training she needed to be her best doggy self. Very impressed with this store's service.

I hopped on in just to look And that's when I saw this stuffed animal lamb for my dog . So I purchased it and when I got home he loved it!! The only thing is that I couldn't find any clothes for him but that's ok he loved his toy and now we go all the time!!

I was in the store tonight and couldn't find a certain brand of dog food we usually get. When I gave I decided to ask a worker there name Kyle and he was very helpful. He wouldn't stop until he finally found it and I have to say that's awesome customer service five stars for Kyle he was friendly and courteous and helpful.

The employee was super helpful and knowledgable as always. The store was out of stock of one of items that I came to buy....kitten replacement milk.....in fact almost every product in that section was out of stock. The only choice available was a $45 tub of powder mixture which was too expensive for me to try as a first choice.

I've been to this Petco, a handful of times, and every employee I've met there has always greeted me or asked if they could pet my puppies as we walk through the isles. Everyone seems very welcoming and the items throughout the store are easy to find. There's also a grooming Section in the back of the store, which they had open viewing windows to watch your own animal/pet being groomed with hand written signs, asking one not to videotape. Lol I'm sure their employees don't want to be on film. Nevertheless, my puppies always like this particular Petco, since they can sniff out different treats of their choosing at knows level. Lol I will definitely be back again!
