LIKE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS, We received a collection letter 18 months after their test for the amount of $299.00 but they never tried reaching out to us before. When we tried reaching out to them trying to to figure out what the issue was telling then that we have insurance they blamed it on a wrong date of birth which we confirmed that they did have my right date of birth. So their solution was pay the bill. Cause insurance will not cover a claim 18 months thereafter. Even after admitting that they had my correct information all along and they never tried reaching out to us but now that this needs to get paid they came dirext to us and they're making us pay $299 out of our own pockets because of their own incompetence and mismanaged officeSHAME ON THEM NOT RECOMMENDED FOR ANYONE !!!!

Beware. If they give you a flat rate for the service you’ll be charged if your insurance denies the claim, they lie. My insurance denied, so they appealed and fought them over it for a year. So I instead of my paying $199 I’m stuck with over 500. Just beware!!

Don't bother with the Harmony. Make sure your doctor is aware that you don't want to take the Harmony. Some doctors have an agreement with Ariosa to promote the test. Be aware - opt for another test if you even bother with genetic testing at all. Not worth $299 to find out the gender early.

My wife and I paid for this so we could get the gender early and also to find out about any chromosomal abnormalities, and all the other stuff that goes with it. We got no answer and was told if we wanted to get the answers, we would have to pay for another test. This is, of course, after arguing with them over and over because they said that they couldn’t talk to us even though it’s our tests. They stated that we needed to go talk to our doctor instead.

My doctor sent blood samples here and then months later received huge charges that insurance doesn't even cover. Scam. Do not do any tests for the harmony test just do stage 2 ultra sound.

DO NOT GET THIS TEST

Do not take the Harmony test... I feel I was scammed into taking it. When I called I was told the average cost was $300. She asked for my insurance and I was put on hold. She then came back and said it was out of network and wouldn’t be covered by insurance. She said they would bill me and I could set up payment plans. I then got a EOB from my insurance and they were billed $2500 and my portion was $1298. I called and disputed the bill but they said since they didn’t give me a quote and it was an estimated cost I was responsible for the bill. She said if insurance would’ve denied it the cost is $300. I asked why I was told insurance wouldn’t cover it. She said they assume if it’s out of network it will get denied but they have no way of knowing until the submit a claim. I was never told about a different price if insurance was billed. I believe they used deliberate language to stick me with a higher bill. I would not get this test unless you absolutely need it .

BEWARE! Do not get the Harmony test done unless your insurance fully covers, and if that’s the case, go with another company! We were billed self-Pay, which, according to our doctor, costs $130. Plenty of research on the internet suggests SOME self pay customers are getting it at that price. We received a bill of $299. After the initial bill, we were sent a notice that it would be taken to collections. I called billing to get this resolved. Called 5 times over a 2 month period and was told by agents “our managers haven’t gotten to it yet.” So we get to 3 days before bill is supposed to be sent to collections with no resolution. Was told by a representative “well, you can take the chance it gets resolved or it’s sent to collections.” ARE YOU JOKING!? I had been waiting TWO months for a manager callback and apparently, a “regular” rep couldn’t resolve the discrepancy. They played chicken with me. I paid the bill to avoid hurting my credit score, and I’m sure I will never hear from them again even though my complaint is still outstanding. I never leave reviews, but this is literally the WORST customer service and the most crooked company I have ever dealt with. Do your research on message boards and you’ll see they bill randomly. They have made what’s supposed to be a happy time in our lives very stressful! Shame on Ariosa!

There seems to be a tie up with some doctors who go out of their way to recommend this Harmony test costing over 3500, with no real results given out to us or to insurance company. There are other tests fully covered by insurance costing a lot less. Apparently some doctors need to be investigated for in house recommendation and fraud.

I filled out the paperwork and check marked "bill patient." Company bi-passed and went to insurance. I spoke with representative while the billing was processing asking them to not bill my insurance. representative told me to call my insurance to have them decline. I called the insurance and they said it would be on Ariosa's end to not send it. I called back and the representative mentioned that the prices had increased after i had test taken. That they would adjust the cost. They did neither. I was build 2x as much and they ran the information through insurance when i did not. I have since called the company 3x and each of them declined the price change, some say my insurance decline, some said my insurance paid most of the cost. Frustrating over all. I went ahead and paid my bill that was 2x as much as it was suppose to be just to be done with it. If i have anymore children, I will not be using their services.

They overcharged my wife and I. The initial charge was $130 without insurance. At no point did Ariosa Diagnostics tell me if I filed with my insurance the cost may be more. After filling with insurance the cost was over $400! Keep in mind, Ariosa Diagnostics received absolutely nothing from my insurance. I am basically being charged more because I ran it through my insurance, which makes no sense. I spoke with a front line employee and to have the claim backed out of my insurance and was told that is not possible. I was trying to pay the initial $130. I have worked in healthcare for over 8 years and we could back out of claims. I know it is possible. Ariosa Diagnostics just chooses not to. I asked to speak with a supervisor twice and left a message with no return call. I disputed the charge on their website and it says I will be contacted. It has been over two weeks with no one contacting me. This company is a prime example of taking advantage of innocent customers. Beware of Ariosa Diagnostics of their shady business practices and horrible customer service.
