When I was at Ross for Less last week, there was a huge line for the checkout. Unfortunately, there was literally only one clerk to check everyone out. The clerk was a young man named Josh, who was exceptionally friendly and worked quickly. Although I had to wait a very long time to check out, I truly appreciated his great attitude. He really knew how to deliver high quality service. As for the store management, they need to do a much better job of ensuring that they are fully staffed to accommodate customers. I witnessed several customers walk out of the store because the line was so long.

Today, we went to our usual Ross location near Almaden Expressway. The store itself wasn’t very crowded, but there was only one checkout counter open, which caused a significant delay. About 20–25 people were standing in line, and based on that, it took us around 30–45 minutes just to check out. It’s frustrating to see this kind of situation during peak hours between 6–8 PM, especially when there are six counters available but only one in operation.
The poor cashier looked overwhelmed, unable to take a break without the line growing even longer. Having known the Ross brand for years, it’s disappointing to see that they can't hire enough staff to meet customer demand. I understand they may be dealing with cost-cutting and layoffs, but if the company is still generating revenue, most of it probably goes to the top executives. That could explain why they aren’t investing in more front-line staff. It’s disheartening to witness such understaffing at a busy South San Jose location.

My family and I been shopping at different locations of Ross for many years and none of us have ever been insulted by the cashier asking us if we are senior citizen. I’m very far from becoming a senior citizen and if anything, people think I look younger than my age. Even senior citizens I know have never been asked by any Ross Cashiers if they are senior citizens. This rude cashier who wears a headscarf and who looks much older than her age asked me last week if I was a senior citizen then insisted that it was their policy to ask customers that question in case they are old enough for a senior citizen discount! Sorry that is not their policy since my family and I have shopped at different Ross locations and cashiers at Ross never insulted us by asking us if we were seniors! I went to Ross this week and spoke to Roxy who I was told was the manager. It turned out she wasn’t the manager and it made sense since she defended her rude cashier, Mojgan, by saying it was their policy to ask all customers if they were senior citizens. Very dishonest and rude customer service. That is not their policy!

I had a very disappointing experience at the Ross store recently. The store manager was incredibly rude, and my overall experience was far from satisfactory.
**Rude Cashier:** The cashier was yelling at customers and exhibited very poor behavior. This made the shopping experience very uncomfortable.
**Unprofessional Security Guard:** The security guard was treating customers like thieves. He also smelled like alcohol, which is highly unprofessional and concerning for customer safety.
**Customer Treatment:** Overall, the staff, including the manager, treated customers poorly. This level of disrespect is unacceptable.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend shopping at this Ross store. The unprofessional behavior of the staff and the poor treatment of customers make it a place to avoid.
# please contact federal authorities or file small claims against Ross or hire a professional attorney if you treated baddy or been assaulted by the white, evil, rude security guard ?!

I have never felt so ashamed in my life as yesterday. After paying for my purchase the security man asks me to show the ticket and show the bag. I was treated like a theft and felt super embarrassed. Never again

The manager was rude and unwilling to answer questions. They tried to take Ross's credit card and pressured us to get a cardso that I can get 10% discount. After applying for the card information, she said to wait for the results for 14 days and then walked away they did not applied for 10% discount. They were trying to sell the credit card without any knowledge of the store.
