Beautiful venue to enjoy and watch concerts. Recently enjoyed watching Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons; really cool to watch such a Rock & Roll Icon in such an intimate setting. It's not always you walk into a building from 1934 that has a good bar, and decent grab and go food. The service was great for navigating the building and guiding guests to their seats. Highly recommend trying out this venue, it's smaller than the newer facilities but it's like stepping back in time (in a good way) to enjoy some unique shows.

First time visit to this venue to see Frankie Valli. Which is a BILLION times undersold. Here's why: this place mostly sucks. The small size of the seating area is nice. If you go upstairs, there will be no line for bathroom or concessions. I tried to buy tickets to the Grinch show coming up in 2 weeks that is also wildly undersold. Wait several minutes in box office line. B.O. worker "I'm only selling tickets for Frankie Valli right now." What? Sorry you don't want my money, and, no, I won't be attending your C-list grinch production.

Came here to watch the TII tour. Loved the tour! The lines for drinks were longggggggg! Only a few employees working to make cocktails. They would have been better off just selling beers and White Claws or Truly. Unfortunate with the drinks situation. We sent super close to the front. The seats were okay in comfort. The seats also had cup holders if needed.

The place was nice but the bar tender that was serving the mixed drinks was truly awful. He was telling my husband after we paid for our drinks what to tip as if my husband was super drunk or unable to understand what he was doing. He was very rude and kept stating push this button here , no push this one here and not allowing him to press anything else with his hand! He was Blocking the other buttons if that makes sense. After I noticed what he was doing and which button he wanted us to press after he scanned his cc had me mind blown and the way he was so persistent about the tip button made me suspicious so I took over and clicked on no tip! after he kept telling me to why I didn’t press the 20% tip option button. I pressed no tip and he said “oh thats nice” I said wait you wanted tip for doing your job? It’s not like you gave me an extra shot or an extra tamarindo straw ! He said that’s nice ! I said oh sorry that I’m being honest and don’t think you deserve a tip for doing your job but if you want a tip here is a dollar and he said don’t be sorry its okay, it okay. I stared at him with disgust that he was probably taking advantage of drunk people at this event. For this reason I give it a 4 star because the entire situation was just unbelievable and the civic center was nice but it’s small. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Will definitely look out for bar tenders employees at events that be pulling this stunt.

Absolutely gorgeous venue! I've attended live music, theater, lectures, and more in this historical San Jose landmark. The sound is usually perfect, which is rare, especially for the variety of events. The last time I was there, Oct 2023, was for an amazing Health Summit. The AC was on too high and miserably cold. But that said I've never felt the place get too hot and stuffy even during rock concerts. The restrooms can handle the crowd volume, but are not designed and decorated as elegantly as the rest of the facility. Most seats seem closer to the stage than at most other venues of this capacity. My favorite memory was seeing the Moody Blues play an epic concert maybe 2017? Over all, it's remained one of my local favorites.

The shows have been great. The theater has a warm and welcoming feeling.

I went here for a Food and Medicine presentation with RFK Jr., Aseem Mulhotra, and others discussing our ultra-processed food, and what does this venue do, only serves us the worst of ultra-processed food, and we couldn't bring in our own food, and of course, if we left, we would have had to go through the hassle of security. I was stuck inside this place for 7 hours and I refused to eat the Standard American Diet that was served here. I'm guessing the Food and Medicine organizers needed more time to make sure the food was not hot dogs, but I would have hoped that the manager of this venue could have let us bring in our own food at least. I was starved when I left.

Great venue for a concert. Went to see Dread Mar and had an amazing time with my sister. Felt safe, the acoustics were great and intimate concert are the best.

Ideal!! Great venue with highly professional and amiable staff. The venue itself had adequate facilities and never a bad seat. I love that the box office sells tickets without gobs of extra fees (so extremely valuable in 2023)The sound and lights are tremendous. I’d give this venue a 10 star if possible! Love this place, and I drive hundreds of miles to enjoy a show here!! #best!

Just a cheap chair you could grab anywhere for everyone, easy to be blocked by taller guys.No guidance after you purchased tickets, I have no idea about entrance/garage/floor plan. I have no idea what's allowed or not allowed to bring - they don't let any food/drink/camera/laptop in(but they allow a phone. . .). And they don't have a place to keep anything unless you find their managers. It's 2023, not 1998. Please be morden a little bit.Thanks.

Came here for a concert on 9/01/23, we had a really positive experience the restrooms were really clean and we didn’t have to wait in long lines. Everything was going really well up until the end of the night. We purchased our tickets through ticket master and one of them included meet and greet. When I approached one of the staff members to ask about the M&G she mocked me and she continued to laugh and make a joke out of it to her co-worker, and said it was canceled. This was extremely agitating to me because I approached her in an extremely respectful manner and gave her no reason to be so rude. We also asked to use the restroom and where told that they were closed for the night.. we were over an hour away from home and after having paid over $1,000 we weren’t aloud to use the restrooms?? Will definitely not be going back there ever again thanks to the lack of good customer service on the ONE employee. Please do better and if you aren’t happy with your job don’t take your frustrations on the customers who PAID to be there.

Great location. We watched a DSP concert here. We parked on 3rd street(free street parking) and walked about 10 minutes. The sound system was bad(loud and noisy) in the concert and I doubt that is because of the place.
