Right next to and connected to San Jose convention center. Don’t expect too much of a service. Would have liked a breakfast buffet, as options are limited in the menu.Restaurant is decent. The rooms were decent sized and clean. Furnishings look a bit dated. The view from the top floors is good.Walkability: In downtown..Most places are walkable.

AMAZING HOSPITALITY!!! I travel both domestically and internationally for a living… without question… both front desk Hosts Lambert and Ramil stand out for their excellent ‘tag-team’ service beyond compare. Happy and engaging, these guys are superior Marriott brand ambassadors!

Stay away from this horrible property, and its horrible staff. Craig, the manager, should not be in the hospitality industry. I was back in my hometown for funeral services for my sister. I reserved two rooms for me and my adult children. Silly me for thinking because I made the reservation and paid for the rooms I could check in for my daughter who would be arriving very late. Craig accused me of fraud and wouldn't let me check in for my daughter, so I called Amex to help, and he gave them the runaround, too! I called my daughter to add me, and he said, "I could have called anybody." This is how they treat Marriott Bonvoy Elite members. Keep in mind that I'm already checked in another room, not some rando. Avoid these horrible people at all costs and forget Bonvoy - it means absolutely nothing.I did not feel welcome in this hotel. I felt threatened by the front desk staff and manager. Just avoid these people at this property altogether. There are tons of hotels in the same area. Go to those first.

I’ll be honest I recently checked in but had to leave a review about the amazing staff before I’d get too busy and forget. At the check in I was greeted by Elisiva she was very welcoming and cheerful. Even later when I had to come back due to a issue with my room she kept the same attitude. Her and Ellie Wang fixed my issue in a quick and timely matter and I look forward to the rest of my stay at the San Jose MarriottRooms: I got a gorgeous room with a breathtaking viewNearby activities: Really close to the Shark Tank

All I could think was Gordon Ramsey saying,”You just don’t care.” Furniture beat, twenty years old, one end table for two beds with the poorest hotel grade mattresses. No drawers or tables so there is stuff strewn about the room. Truly a Motel 6 experience. Four items on the breakfast menu and breakfast over $50 for two and it made me I’ll. Gruyère cheese does not belong to breakfast.A big but simple irritation, long lines to get coffee (30 minutes plus) so I get up early to get coffee at 6:15 before the rush, it opens at 6:30. They don’t care enough to fix the sign. There is a reason I’m a Diamond with Hilton and a lowly good at Marriott. They just don’t care.

Update: Supposed to fix my AC and give me a fan. Neither happened.Old, dated, hot (not in a good way), and beat up. Old bathroom. Old carpet. Old furniture (with no place to get comfortable). An overall feeling of just dingy. And a bad, bouncy mattress. Lately hotels have been forgetting they are in the sleep business, and the mattresses and lumpy pillows tell me support this theory. My room was also so hot. I had it down to 65, but I’d be shocked it it was less than 72 or 73. The room would not cool down. Finally, it was also so loud. The street noise (and drag racing) kept me up, and I heard everything every other guest around me was doing and watching on tv.I used to stay at this hotel a few times a quarter from 2010-2013 and NOTHING has changed, sadly. For a marquee Marriott property in San Jose (and associated prices), everything about this places should be better - although on the plus, the ppl service was good. Do better Marriott and make some investment into an upgrade.

I fly-in-out weekly into San Jose for work and recently stayed at this hotel on a business trip. It was one of the options on the more expensive side and my expectations were high. However, the room was unclean, bed sheets stained, furniture outdated and I couldn’t get a good nights sleep. When I brought this problem to managements attention they simply advised me they are intending to do a full renovation next year and they hope I stay with them next year. I don’t think you need a full renovation to simply clean previous guests pubes from the bathroom and update stained bedsheets. Dont waste your money, stay somewhere else.

I stay at Marriotts often, and this one is amoung the best. Their lounge for Marriott members if fantastic, the fitness center is great, and the pool is clean and nice. I would suggest that they send Folio's quicker and more regular as I tend to have trouble getting them and have to email but they always send after I ask. This is a great hotel in a great location.

Super convenient location connected to the San Jose convention center. The staff here seem extremely attentive and are well versed on taking care of guests. I just completed a two night stay and had zero issues. I experienced a quick check in, an upgraded and clean room, a hot shower, and M club access. What more could I ask for?I will be sure to stay again next time I'm in the San Jose area.

I am a Marriott member and I booked a room for this hotel on July 1st. Front desk staff was rude and unprofessional. I arrived at 3:45PM to check in and was told I had to wait 30 minutes because no rooms were available. Long story short after I requested a manager. one walked over and typed something in computer, then walked away, did not say one word to me. Then the clerk says my manager found you a room. Eye rolls and rude comments the entire time. The whole thing was rude and weird and when I brought this up to manager she apologized and offered a free dinner for two at the restaurant. I think she thought I would not report her front desk person, but I did anyway because people with poor customer services skills should be outed especially if they work in hospitality.A few days later, a very nice woman from Rooms Leadership, reached out and apologized for the frustrating check in experience and comped the room. This was a nice gesture but not my intention for the report. I do not need something free to compensate for a bad experience, my intent on writing reviews or reporting is to give credit where credit is due and report bad experiences with rude customer services so they can correct it.I have stayed at many Marriott locations all around California and Hawaii and this is the only one that falls extremely short of the Marriott I know. The Operations Manager is just as bad, he was extremely rude. Looks like customer services is the same from the top down.I still love Marriott but this San Jose location is a dud, be aware.AC Marriott down the street is waaaaay better and has excellent front desk customer service.

I stayed here for the first time during Fanime and it was better than I expected. Service was amazing, shop was a life saver, and I had easy access to the convention center.

We had a one night stay at San Jose Marriott last week. The hotel is conveniently located right next to the San Jose convention center. And it is only a short walk away from San Jose State University, less than ten minutes away. We had a pleasant stay there. The staffs at the front desk were friendly and efficient, checking in was a breeze. We were upgraded to a higher floor room without even asking as a bonvoy member. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was quite comfortable. The AC was quiet and efficient. We all had a good night sleep. We also had dinner at the restaurant at the lobby. The service was good and the food was decent and reasonably priced. Overall it was an enjoyable stay. Everything is up to expectation for a Marriott hotel. We'll gladly stay here again if we're in the area.

Hotel is great! Customer service is horrible. Front desk girl ( asian girl with long straight hair) needs training. I have status with marriott so I requested 11 am check in. Rudely she tells me check in is at 4. Once I mention I requested early check in. She realizes I have status and gives me my key. I asked the guy cleaning the laundry room and gym a question and he didn't even acknowledge me. He just kept cleaning. Then I saw another guest ask him a question he did the same thing. These people have no manners. If you value customer service don't stay here. You will regret it.

AC does not cool the room. This is a common issue at this hotel, especially in summer. As a Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador elite member I cannot recommend a hotel that cannot keep a comfortable sleeping temperature, regardless of any other amenity.
