Got the lunch special twice, and it didn't disappoint. All the items were tasty and nicely prepared. I've visited Japan and would say this dish is comparable to what I've eaten there in terms of authenticity. The service was friendly and quick too, despite how busy lunch hour tends to be here. The only thing is that the eating area is not the most spacious. However, I've eaten at smaller places in Japan so it's not a bother to me but worth noting.

Fresh sushi, especially enjoyed the specialty rolls. Always enjoy sitting at the bar to see up close the available variety of offerings. Service is fantastic. Our local go to place for sushi and other Japanese cuisine.

It was busy at Friday lunch time. Big line but didn’t wait so long. Ordered special Nigiri and around $30 with soup and green tea. Waited a bit long but quality was good. I think affordable price with quality sushi.

Seems like this is everyone's favorite spot for sushi in Japantown! Consistent quality and delicious! Bento boxes are very large portions.

I ordered to go and there were other customers who got to go also, the servers kept telling us 5min multiple times and I ordered at 6:40 and they said to come back at 7:20 and at 7:20 my order still wasn't ready as they kept saying 5min over and over to me and other customers who actually have been waiting for 2 hours! I got the sashimi bento and it was missing the "two chef choices" I only got the sashimi. For $30 this us very little food and i don't recommend anyone that wants to have a simple to go order here.

Extremely rude waitress. I understand that it was rush time, but the waitress decided to skip us on the waitlist and seat 2 other parties of similar size that came after us first. We arrived 20 minutes before the other groups and were multiple places above them on the waitlist.

Food used to be better. Sushi Boat Town is better at this point. Spent $60 and went away a little bit let down. Food wasn't bad, just not the same as years past. Bummer.

Came again to try the sushi bar, which has the conveyer style. Quality was very good. The sushi chefs take good care of you. It's way faster to eat this way, but trust me, way more expensive, because it's way too easy to grab more plates! Haha. Three plate types with for three price points. Careful! They miscounted an extra plate when we checked out and then had to refund us.

Really amazing fresh sushi. We just got back from Japan and it was definitely on par with the places we ate there. Service was really nice, had clear pricing for the plates and it was really easy to talk with the sushi chef and order more.

I would not mind coming here for a casual Japanese meal, particularly lunch. It's a standard Japanese restaurant aiming for such clientele. For this reason, their bentos are the best value, the rest of probably obligatory menu items. Then I ordered Chirashi bowl (regular, not deluxe). These are sashimi topped rice bowl supposed to show-case the ingredients with light seasoning. Well, I had a reasonable meal that was not memorable. I had some good quality raw fish, and some rice to fill me up. That's pretty much it.

We would go here at least once a week when we lived in SJ down the block. I also stop in when I’m in the South Bay. Without a doubt my personal favorite sushi spot and maybe my favorite restaurant in general. Although I generally just order fresh, sitting at the conveyer belt sushi bar always added a bit of fun to the experience. The staff are super friendly and they even have a little stamp card you get rewards with. Don’t pass them up and make sure to order yourself a happy sack!

I can only speak of the sushi boat selection and the tempura, both which are standard fare. Better than average perhaps. Maybe I'm spoiled by easy access to lots of great sushi around the neighborhood. It's faster food than McDonald's too. It's a great place to sit down for a quick bite. I like this place a lot and often come here when I'm in town.

The food was good but very long wait. They were busy, so it was understandable, and they did say sorry for the wait when the food came.

Seems like this place has improved since the last time I came here about a year ago! I noticed that it has about 3.5 stars, but I don't think it's current rating gives the restaurant justice to how it is now. Overall, I'd give it 5/5 stars:-Quality of food was good. Everything in my 3 item bento box(salmon teriyaki, beef teriyaki, salmon sashimi, California rolls) and conveyor belt sushi seemed relatively fresh and tasty-Pricing is reasonable especially with the after 8pm discounted conveyor belt sushi(they combine 2 plates for price of 1) and stamp card (15% off every 10 stamps)-Service was prompt and friendly -Menu has pictures for everything which makes it easy for my non-English speaking grandma and for people like myself who like visuals on their menus.-Ambiance is a typical casual sushi place I will definitely be coming back!
