Stopped in on my lunch break to drop off an Amazon package (not sure why taking it to the Amazon store across the st wasn't an option). There was a line of 6 ppl ahead of me, no problem should be fast. Wait around 30 mins and both guys are doing notary services for people now. Seriously both guys at the same time with a line that's out the door already?!I had to get back to make a meeting waisted trip that shouldn't have taken longer than 10-15 mins.

Super helpful staff!!! Spencer who works there is a super person!They are very knowledgable. Very patient. Kind and generous too.They are also empathetic toward issues you may be facing and try their best to suggest products, alternatives and options.I prefer this UPS store to most of the other ones in the South Bay.(Definitely don't go to the terribly managed one on El Camino in Sunnyvale)

Worst Assistant Manager Ernesto, with bad attitude. Doesn’t know how to talk and doesn’t know the stuff he is doing at the store. Last time I came there and he didn’t test my documents because he said my drivers license seems suspicious. I went to another store and got it done without any problems. Today we went to ship a parcel he charged me for the printing I already had and couldn’t forward through our documents to post office. If he doesn’t like his job, he should quit.

I have only been to this location three times over about five years because it is convenient downtown.The first time I tried to send a prescription to a friend because he lost his health insurance.The manager wouldn't accept the package until I told her exactly what prescription it was and what it was meant to treat.Not her business. I told her anyway because I didn't have time to go to a different place.The second time I needed to drop off a pre-labeled package.I was on my bike and didn't have my lock because it was on my usual commute to work.The same woman tries to refuse to take my package until I locked my bike up outside.Dumb. I didn't even need a receipt. I could have just dropped it on the counter and left.But she had to make a big deal about it.Today I had to pick up a package that I had shipped to the wrong store on accident (I always go to UPS on The Alameda cause everyone is welcoming and friendly there).And of course, of all days, I forgot to bring my lock with me.I parked it inside near the entrance out of the way of everyone and of course, the same woman has to tell me it was not allowed.But today she must have been feeling nice because she said she said she would let me stay since it was near closing.How gracious.But what set me off about this is the stroller full of some dude's trash collection sitting in front of the register.So I had to ask, why is that allowed in the store but my bike isn't?She said it was policy.I asked whose policy and she said "UPS's policy."But my bike is my primary form of transportation, and I have never been told that at any other UPS store.So great, the UPS Store's policies allow someone's trash collection in their stores, but not a well-kept road bike.Maybe my bike looks dangerous or threatening. Like, I could assault someone with it. Or worse yet, dirty the carpet.But I assure you it is more sanitary than a stroller full of trash.The thing is, the store is in Downtown San Jose, surrounded by streets with protected bike lanes.They should expect people to stop in occasionally with their bikes.Maybe put a small bike rack in the front like the Amazon Store has right across the street.There is no signage anywhere on the storefront that says "no bikes."So it is either a poorly executed policy or just the manager's preference.It takes longer to make a big deal about my bike than to check my ID and give me my package.And no one has any business asking specifics about medications I'm shipping - my health is my personal business.

This UPS store is amazing. They deal with a significant amount of volume due to their location, which includes lots of chaos. They manage this very well. I recently moved a long distance and I used this store to send most personal items and clothes. The store manager is extremely organized and professional and polite, and one of the employees in the store, Josh, has been extremely helpful as well. The store manager called me to give me a progress update on the shipment, and she is always very well organized and professional.

I was hopeful after contacting the owner/ manager of this UPS store location that the behavior of Ernesto would change but it didn't. I'm sadden to see a review written only a few days ago mentioning Ernesto's rude demeanor. There's reviews dating back 2 years ago that mention the same thing. Sad. Just so so sad. I drive to the alameda location and am welcomed with open arms. Disappointing that I can't use my local UPS store and have to travel unnecessarily.

The manager named Ernesto, he was extremely harsh and rude to me. I was shocked and disappointed by his behavior. I hope that this issue can be addressed and that steps can be taken to ensure that other customers do not have to experience the same treatment."
