AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Alisa Shen left my pet (fasting and starving) untreated for over 5 hours for an anesthesia-required treatment. I was unaware (dropped my pet as I went to work) and was shocked by this. I called multiple times before to ensure my pet would be treated right away. Our pets are like our children who can’t verbalize their discomfort. Imagine leaving your child starving alone and scared in a hospital setting untreated! AVOID ALISA SHEN! No one bothered to even call to explain the situation.

I took my dog here for a teeth cleaning procedure at 7am, which was supposed to be under the supervision of Alisa Shen. Because they needed to use anesthesia, my dog had to take antibiotics the previous night, and had been fasting (no food or water).I was assured she would be seen on time, but by noon, 5 full hours later, they had not even began my dog’s procedure. I was furious, so my family went and picked up my dog. Even after all of this, no one from the clinic bothered to call to explain what happened. I am astounded no one even had the decency to apologize. This is malpractice and I won’t be returning.

Friendly staff and treated us really well. Would come back. Seems like pretty standard and fair pricing.

I posted a review from my experience with VCA Animal / off of Jackson and people should know what kind of experience they can receive coming here: I went in for my appointment 09.12.23 @ 4:45pm, and I asked the receptionist to take my credit card, and to update my information, and I wanted to pay my balance well in the meantime, she has music loud. She took my card, entered into the computer, but didn't take the balance. I guess I don't know at the time I didn't pay attention when I did ask her to pay my balance, she asked me to sit so I sit for 15 minutes waiting to be seen. thinking that she did exactly what I asked her to & after the 15 minutes she asked me to come up but she wanted to talk to me about my dog and that I still had a balance due while I asked her didn't you take my credit card and pay for it like I asked you at the beginning when I first walked in ? She said no and I said well why didn't you do it then because I'm expecting that you did that and I didn't have to sit here and wait longer and now you're telling me that no one wants to see me because I didn't pay my balance yet well that wasn't my fault and then the whole entire time she's listening to Disney Music in the background which is fine but loud and few words exchange, she kept being like stubborn innocence & I intern called her a little girl because she didn't pay attention to anything that I asked her to do in the first place and this isn't the first encounter I had with her, but I let the first time go the second time Wasn't appropriate. She did not do what I asked her and she kept turning around and making it like it's all me well, it wasn't me. It was her because she could've done what I asked her to in the first place so I left, refusing to pay the balance of the insurance the pet care insurance I call later and I speak to the technician supervisor while the technician supervisor sided with her because I called her a little girl now mind you they're fixed on the little girl part instead of the actual reason why I got mad is because of her not doing what I asked her to if you want to come to a place like this and they don't pay attention to what you're asking them then why go there in the first place I'm just upset because the fact that they're turning this all on me when they shouldn't be.

I've been going there for a while with 3 of my dogs and today I walked in for my dogs appointment and I told the receptionist that I was there for my 4:45 appt and I wanted to pay my balance and add my new card for my monthly insurance payments. So that I got my card back thinking she did everything I asked her.... I sat down waiting on our appt and in the mean time she ( didn't get her name) was blaring ( a little loud) musical song and then there was "Enchanto" playing Than she proceeds to call me back to the counter and starts to tell me that I needed to pay my balance before my dog could be seen so sitting there for 15 mins and I was thinking she did what I asked her and I blatantly ask her why didn't you take the payment when I asked you to when I first arrived she could not answer me because she didn't pay attention to me when I arrived and talked to her in the first place, then she proceeded to tell me that I couldn't be seen again before I make the payment. Well, I asked her why can't you answer me why you didn't do what I asked you at the beginning of the appointment when I first arrive so then words exchanged back-and-forth. She kept trying to politely disregard me in my words so that was getting me upset and I called her a little girl while she told me that she was not a little girl. Mind you that was the biggest focus of me calling her a little girl that both her and the technician supervisor zeroed in on the end didn't care. She said i am a grown ass woman OK if you're a grown ass woman, and she did say that and the supervisor that I spoke to, which was a technician supervisor agreed with this receptionist decided to say that it was on me in so many words and when I asked her that the supervisors started getting short with me because I was asking questions, not implying, but asking questions in the meantime, besides me calling her little girl I'm being told that the manager will get a hold of me and I won't be charged for the visit they're throwing all this back on me when it should not be because the girl should've listen to what I asked her to but instead she had her music blaring loud or, however way you want to put it and didn't pay attention to anything. I asked her to take my card and take my new card and put it into the system and that was it but she didn't do anything else - so the technician supervisor. got a little short with me and I didn't want to hear her anymore because she said that I was going off and she had patients to attend to, and another words didn't wanna hear anything I had to say so I hung up on her. They were all rude in that office, she was to busy entertaining herself & very incompetent.

It was a sad visit. My daughter and I brought my dog in for cremation. They were very nice and respectful of our feelings during this sad time.

AVOID THIS LOCATION if you don’t want your time wasted! Made an appointment a week in advance, called them on the day of the appointment to confirm it and was told the appointment is confirmed. We showed up on time just to be they couldn’t find our appointment and that the doctor had already left!! We travelled 30 minutes and waited an entire week. There are much better clinics that treat their clients better and not lie to their face!

Don't expect them to hold appointments even after confirmations. Had multiple appointments which didn't show up in their system after reaching the hospital.Wasted 45 mins of travel time for nothing.

Very caring and awesome people. They were so patient with our rambunctious cat, and they would see us quickly. They have separate entrances for dogs and cats, never seen that before!

I've been going here for years. About 10 to be exact. I have 3 dogs. When I first started coming here with my oldest dog they were very nice and reasonably price. I still remember they had discount days for vaccines. It was either on Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'm not sure if they do that anymore. I've come with my youngest dog twice. Once for a foxtail and once for a broken nail. When I say the prices have skyrocketed it's not an exaggeration. It's almost laughable. They charged $35 for a bandage to wrap around her paw they took the broken nail off of. The whole roll wouldn't even cost them $10. I asked the vet tech if the price included the rest of the nails being cut (as the doctor said they would do) and she asked if I wanted them to. I told her yes unless they're gonna charge $100 to do it then id do it myself and she was silent. I think they know how ridiculous the prices are. It used to be $70 for an exam (which will be part of the price every time you visit) and now it's $111! She didn't even check her heartbeat, teeth or eyes. Just took the weight and temperature and a quick skin check which were all normal. While we were waiting for her pain medication I overheard another owner checking out and the receptionist told her she had $54 in credit that could be applied to her bill. When I asked if I had any credit she quickly said "no". I've been coming here for 10 years I can't imagine how I wouldn't have a single cent in credit. I've already switched one of my dogs over to another vet that I'm happy with. After this visit I'm gonna switch the rest of my dogs over.

Very expensive charge for doctor visit and medicine, all very expensiveIf before I come, they tell me how much for doctor visit charge, that is fair, but when I request how much the doctor visit charge, they didn’t tell me, just say depends on the cat situation.I guess the charge should be reasonable , so I bring my cat come to see doctor, but the charge is very expensive! Why they didn’t tell me the charge directly when I ask before I come? Why the charge depend on cat situation? Common sense is, doctor visit is fixed rate, the difference price is depends on the testing and medicine fee, this animal hospital is really strange and greedy!Doctor spend 10 minutes on my cat charge me much more than one hundred for visit fee only exclude medicines, it’s expensive than human being to visit a doctor

My return to VCA Crocker after four years started as a very bad experience. Evidently, they called my previous phone number to confirm it, even though I had updated the number over the phone when I made the appointment, then canceled my appointment when there was no answer. This was an aggravating surprise when I took time off work and showed up on time with my cat, and they tried to hustle us out the door with a new appointment scheduled for the next day. Before I came to a full boil, they got me in to see the vet, who was excellent. And the person who made the mistake owned up to it and apologized, which is not an easy thing to do. Most people don't. But she did, and that speaks to her courage and class and professionalism. So they turned a bad experience into a good one. I would only add, to whoever decides these things at VCA Crocker, that you have too much of an itchy trigger-finger canceling appointments because somebody doesn't answer their phone. There could be a million reasons why that would happen, apart from calling the wrong number like you did with me; I doubt people are pranking you by scheduling fake appointments. A little more investigation, such as an inquiring email, would avoid this problem, if a confirmation is really necessary in the first place. And in fact I DID get a confirmation email 48 hours in advance. Clearly something with your system needs retooling. The only reason I called to schedule my appointment was because your online portal wouldn't let me, because I had a new number and a different cat.
