If you ever purchase money order, don't purchase it at Western Union. - Most places reject their money order including Western Union itself, though their policy says they do cash their own money order, they reject cashing it finding excuses 'oh we don't cash money orders, we just sale them' or 'we don't have a license to cash them'. - Western Union, but you have the license to sale them!!! Just avoid them. - USPS is best choice!!!

Depressing atmosphere and rude or apathetic workers. Pick your poison. Teller told me that WU does not accept water bill payment and made me buy a MO. A quick online check shows that they are accepted. Please reprimand this dolt. Choose another branch, with people who actually care about their jobs. The slew of poor reviews are entirely accurate.

I send money from this office all the time and have a gold card Tonight at 8.38 I came across the rudest cashier ever and this is my second experience with the same person She kept reminding me of the good service she was providing as I told her I was entitled to free points but I couldn't get through on the automated system. She kept making snide comments under her breath and I told her I was unimpressed The security guard then came over and admonished me ! I told him he can't hear what she is saying on the other side of the glass - he didn't care The lovely young man at the next counter Roger offered to ring the system and he admitted it wasn't working correctly I told him how grateful I was and I was going to complete a Yelp review - the woman who I had the initial issue with kept making snide comments as she filed her nails It will all be on the cameras - she was very disrespectful The other staff are fabulous and when I asked to speak to the Mgr - the security guard shrugged his shoulders and said there wasn't one ?

This company is terrible. The worst employees, in their locations and customer service over the phone. I tried to cancel an electronic money transfer and get my money back for DAYS. They sent me from store to store trying to get my money back. It was a nightmare. I don't even want to list all the problems it caused me. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had.

This web site never works. I tried several diferent credit cards and debit cards and it always tells me to go to an agent. The customer service is also horrible, it sounds like Im calling to India, cant hear them, cant understand them and it just feels very unsafe to give them my credit card info over the phone. Transferwise.com is much better and cheaper.

NEVER again. No customer service. Had a simple request, refund money no longer needed to be sent. Almost impossible to solve over 3 month period. You call but takes ages to speak with someone, then the person tells you s/he is putting notes in their system of your call - next time you call back, nothing. Even just using a store is difficult - the one at 826 10th Ave has a sign it's open until midnight - it's not. It also has a sign directing you to a 24 hour store in the UWS - went there at 10pm, and of course it's closed. This company is a joke. Stay away and save yourself a lot of hassle and stress.

a good place to transfer money, to get money orders, and pay utility bills. decent size place , and enough window clerks , so long lines move swiftly. all the forms you need are on counter and if you have a question, the security guards are helpful. the main transactions are sending and receiving money via moneygram. so if you need a western union this one is a good spot. the money order fees are just 50 cents.the staff are nice folks and quick, and if you have already sent or recieve money your info is in the system, so transaction are a breeze. also opened 24/7 if that matters.

This place is large and bright and they offer really good security. They are open 24/7 so your good at anytime. Money orders are 50 cents. Window 7 seems to be the only one working when there are 10 windows with people chit chatting and eating. Come on SON!!!

Love this place. I send money to Haiti every month and always use Western Union. If you avoid going during the lunch or first thing in the morning, you will be in and out in no time. You can also get a Gold Card which stores your information and senders information. Whenever I go to WU, I don't need to fill out anything. I just give my card and and they pull the information. The card is also a rewards card and phone card. I often redeem my points for phone time since I make a lot of international calls. hour

HORRIBLE!!!!! Never again I will use Western Union service! They are morons!!! Not enough they get all kinds of personal information from you, then they call you and start questioning about where is the money from , how is going to be used - just full questioning about everything - then they cancel my transaction and suggested go back to the office to get my money back! Morons! Idiots!!!! And they do this to a thousands of customers and getting away with it!

One plus is that they are open 24 hours. They also do have an armed officer here so you should feel safe here at night. However, this place is not nearly as efficient as it could be. I had to wait in a long line of people to pick up some money earlier & not having used Western Union to get money before, I had no idea I had to fill out a form to do this. The guy I finally get to rudely tells me this & I say "So now, I have to go stand BACK in that line?" Instead of maybe giving me a form to fill out & having me step to one of the closed counters while helping someone else, I'm forced to go wait in this long, slow moving line AGAIN. Even the guy at the MTA office didn't force me to wait in the long line again when I was trying to get a Metrocard refund! The second attendant I dealt with was much better. More polite & not such a j**** If I'd dealt with him only, my night would have been a lot better. Guess the official location is just as problematic as going someplace else that lets you do Western Union transactions. At least the people in Western Union's customer service department are more polite & considerate of the customer. Maybe this is another one of those jobs we should see about getting since you'll get paid to be a rude, lazy j**** Other people in line with me seemed annoyed & irritated as well so I have a feeling that's a theme.

OK went to Western Union today at 1440 Broadway as it seems to be one of the few locations in NYC where you can pick up over $5000. The first window I went to the woman seemed to have a huge attitude problem and proceeded to screech about needing a form ... OK sorry, at Moneygram generally you just give I.D and a reference number and hey it's not my fault you're miserable at your present job. Form filled out I proceeded to another window, guy was very helpful, processed it all quickly and went and got the cash. Was patient as I counted it and checked everything was correct. Only had to show my passport, no multitude of I.Ds needed as with some places. Overall, very easy, hassle free process. You can request to receive your money in money orders/checks if you don't want to haul all the cash with you, but be sure to ask them when handing over your form.
