Alex is our miracle google find! My husband and I moved to California in February, but have family that remains in the Midwest. While we have wonderful friends, we struggled to find someone who could not only handle the time commitment required to take care of our active golden retriever but also our two cats for more than 2 days. Out of desperation I turned to google and miraculously found Alex’s company. Her prices are reasonable, she is communicative, understanding, flexible and full of knowledge for pet care! She loved on our pets like her own, sent videos and pictures with each visit, and kept in touch multiple times a day. For us, this was a life saver and we were able to not only enjoy our trip away but RELAX knowing our babies were in good, safe and capable hands. We will most definitely continue to ask Alex to watch our pets and have already recommended her to our other pet parent friends. Thank you Alex for taking such good care of our babies!

When my family travels, it is with the comfort and reassurance of knowing that not only our cat and dog are in good hands, but also the safety of our home. Alex is an expert in animal care through years in the veterinary industry and is highly skilled and knowledgeable. She has endless amounts of compassion for her clients companions and their needs. She is also super savvy with the tech in our house, having had to trouble shoot issues with smoke and security alarms, which we are grateful to have handled while we are away. We would be lost without While You Were Out! Thanks Alex!

Alex and her staff provided exceptional care for our cat during our extended trip. The frequent photos and videos they sent us during each visit were heartwarming, demonstrating their genuine love for animals. Their willingness to assist with various other tasks while we were away was highly appreciated. We wholeheartedly recommend their services!

Alex and her team have been walking our dog Summer for over 2 years now and has provided us and our pup with top notch service. Alex doesn’t just provide a dog walking service. She provides us with a great sense of security knowing our dog is safe and secure at all times on their walks.Alex has taken really great care of our pup even with her health. She has been quick to notify us if Summer isn’t feeling well or if she spots something out of the ordinary with her. The communication, care, and professional services Alex and her team has provided for us over the years has been nothing short of excellent. I would highly recommend Alex! She was always so reliable and she had a genuine love for our pup. My dog always was so excited to see her and came back happy and tired after their walks. Alex is amazing! She cares for our dog as he is hers. Rain or shine there is always a place to take him out for the best time ever. My dog think she is Disneyland every time she comes.

Alex was a dream! We have a little dog and a cat that we usually have friends pop by to care after but over the Thanksgiving holiday, most of them weren't available so Alex came in the clutch to take care of our pets. She was great with keeping us updated on how they where. Her experience as a vet tech was not just reassuring but also allowed her to give us insight on anything she noticed with them. She also made us feel like she was giving our pets quality time when she was over. Although it was our first time using a pet sitting service, we felt like her prices were very reasonable. She also took some of our favorite photos of our critters.

We had such an overwhelmingly positive experience with Alex that it's hard to know where to begin! We came to her with a unique and challenging (and very last-minute) request: Could she cat-sit three four-week-old little kittens for three weeks? I had volunteered to foster "bottle babies" for a local shelter, and three tiny kittens arrived needing short-term care just two weeks before a long-planned trip to the East Coast with my family. When we ended up falling in love with them and deciding we wanted to adopt them, I didn't know what to do-- it was such a last-minute and labor-intensive ask (these little guys weren't even using the litter box reliably or eating solid food yet, and were still quite fragile and needy!), and I didn't know of anyone in the area I would trust with the task. After a frantic search, I found Alex's site, and from our first phone call I felt all the stress start to melt away. She asked all the right questions and seemed to know literally everything about caring for kittens of this age. Astonishingly, within minutes of meeting the kittens, she was able to get them to start eating solid food, which I'd been attempting unsuccessfully for days-- She just has that absolute magic touch with animals.The kittens were so obviously loved and well-cared for during Alex's twice-daily visits that I was actually able to enjoy my trip without worry! She sent frequent videos and updates that put my mind at ease and brought me such joy to watch. She went above and beyond in all ways: She litter-trained the kittens; she adjusted their feedings as they grew and their needs changed; she brought over new and stimulating toys, a cat-scratcher, and even a spare litter box she happened to have in her garage as they grew large enough to use it. Also, somewhat miraculously, we returned to a funk-free house. Anyone who's dealt with kittens knows they can stink up a room really fast, but in Alex's care everything became mystifyingly clean and stink-free (More so than we're able to accomplish! She's amazing!).I cannot recommend Alex enough. She's a true miracle-worker and made such an impact for the kittens (and, as a result, my family and I, who will now get to enjoy them for their lives) in giving them the consistent love, attention, stimulation, and care that they need at this critical point in their development. She's just the absolute best, by any measure, and I'm so grateful to have found her.

Alex is awesome! She helped me out in a time of need. She didn't help me in the conventional way like walking my dog or caring for them in my home. My unique need happened when I boarded my prior to going on vacation. My cat requires a small amount of insulin twice a day and I was unaware the the facility that I was boarding him at did not give injections. I had to leave my cat there as it was late in the afternoon and my flight was scheduled for 9 am the next day. Upon leaving him there I contacted my cats vet who suggested I contact Alex and ask if she'd be willing to go to the boarding facility twice a day to administer my cats insulin. To my amazement she agreed. I don't think she's ever had a client like us before but she was willing to take time out of her busy schedule to help me out. I highly recommend Alex and her business. You can rest assured that she will take care of your furbabies!

Alex was great! I really liked that her website was professional. You can put all of your pets medicine, emergency contacts in there so you feel comfortable when you leave. She also did a great job with sending me pictures of my dog, while I was on vacation.

Alex has been providing dog walking services for my sweet girl Lola for 4 years. Lola is a very shy, nervous rescue dog. Lola felt at ease with Alex from day one (which meant that I also felt at ease!). Alex was very patient with Lola and gave her time to warm up. I also trust Alex and her team to give daily medications to Lola. Alex has a vast amount of clinical veterinary experience which makes her stand out from other individuals offering pet services. I am a nurse and I work long, crazy hours. Alex has always been flexible with my schedule and the unique needs it brings. I get daily photos and updates with each visit. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else to come into my home and care for my fur baby.

You cannot go wrong hiring “While You Were Out” to care for your pets! I have had Alex and her well chosen team caring for my two dogs for over five years. You get so much more than a pet sitter. Alex has many years in the industry and, when one of my girls was ill, Alex knew exactly who was the best to contact and what to do! My job required that I be away for days at time. Many times last minute calls were made and Alex is always responsive, flexible and communicates very well. WYWO is the best in the business!

Over the last 40 years I have had numerous dog walkers for my marvelous dogs. Hands down, Alex and her people are the best I have used. Alex ensures all of her folks are well trained and are truly animal lovers. She has years of veterinary experience as a vet tech and can easily discuss an issue you might have with your animal. She and her team are very flexible and will work hard to ensure your animal has a warm and positive experience each and every day. The best judge are the animals themselves who welcome Alex and her team with eager enthusiasm.
