This place is by far the best storage facility option in San Juan Capistrano. Over the years I have had a unit at one time or another at all of the other facilities in town. A-1 is the newest facility in town. Therefore they have all of the latest conveniences. Very clean and secure. Well lit and at even smells good. Great hours and access to your unit.Staff is all 5 stars. Everyone I have spoken to on the phone or dealt with in person has been friendly and helpful. Teresa, the manager, another young lady and most recently Thomas working the front desk were all courteous and knowledgeable.Updated review February 2024. I'm embarrassed to say that I am renting my third unit from A1 storage. I was offered a free month at the neighboring storage facility and I still chose A1 Storage for their professionalism, cleanliness and secure facility. Sarah, the manager was kind enough to give me a 25% off my first time. Yes, if not as good as one free month but I was still appreciative that they were able to assist me with my third rental. Jazz, who was working the front desk was friendly and helpful at getting me everything I needed for my new storage unit. As always thank you for maintaining a great facility and for providing five star customer service.

Excellent experience renting a truck from this location. Mitchell and Diana were very professional. The facility is nice, clean and organized.

There was a young man he was very helpful. He seemed new because he asked for help with my reservation. He was the only better part of my experience there. The lady that was there was not very friendly. Asking the gentleman questions about my vehicle when I'm standing right there. She could ask me the questions and guide him so that he can learn. She sent him off and she continued to help me, again rude or maybe she was having a bad day idk. After all was payed and sign for she just gave me a receipt and walked away. I was like ok where is my rental? Then she sent the young man to help me. (He was awesome). Upon returning the equipment there was two younger teens. They just asked if everything was ok with my rental, I replied with a yes, then they said you will receive an email. I never received the email and got charged for an extra day "since there was no record of me returning the rental" after calling and going back and forth and verifying that I did return the equipment I was refunded. Overall very unprofessional people working there. I hope the young man that help me in the beginning finds another location to work for or hopefully can change around that particular location! Will not return here for further rentals

VERY unreliable! I booked a truck on May 6th, and there was NO mention they couldn't guarantee a truck. Two weeks later, they called and said there would be no trucks available. Our move was 12 days away! Horrible customer service (Annie). We had scramble and book a moving company for $5,000. TODAY (June 11th...we move on June 13th), they called and miraculously had a truck available. They are a poorly run company, and I will never use U-Haul again. Don't plan on them having a truck for you!

The facility is Nice. Clean. AC. Reasonable priced. Easy access to the freeway.Office manager lady communicated well and very friendly and helpful. Like other reviews had stated, she made the rental process easy. Highly recommended.

Our family has had a great experience at A1 San Juan Capistrano over the past few years. The facility and units are all clean and the staff in the front office are professional and kind (special shout-out to Sarah who made our most recent rental process a breeze!)This isn't the closest storage facility to our apartment but it is right off of the 5 freeway which makes it easy to get to regardless of where you live in Southern OC.100% recommend to anyone looking for a clean, safe and no-hassle storage facility!

We went in to the San Juan Uhaul on 2/18/23 to ask a couple questions about a future rental. We started talking to a bigger latino guy with a diamond stud nose ring. We were being friendly the whole time but he had a real bad attitude and an irritated look on his face from the moment we walked up to the counter. We talked for about 5 minutes and asked a few questions about the rental, pricing, etc. He asked us for our info and I made it very clear that we weren't making a reservation that day. We left and later I got an email that a reservation had been booked. I called back and (nicely) said that we didn't want to make a reservation. He said he remembered us and would cancel it. Today, a few weeks later, I logged into Uhaul's website and found the reservation there -- it hadn't been cancelled. I don't know what this guy's problem was, but he was super rude to us and signed us up for a truck rental that we didn't want. We're not going to this Uhaul again.

They installed a tow hitch on my car incorrectly. The used the wrong size bolt above my exhaust and it jack hammered a hole into my exhaust muffler. Their incompetence cost me my sanity. Don't use this place for anything if you value your time and money. They also have a terrible insurance company that handles their claims named RepWest. Both companies are literally trying to get out of fixing the problems their incompetence caused.

These people are dishonest in their business practices. I picked up a 15' truck. It had 1/4 of a tank of gas in it. I drove a total of 11 miles (paid for 20 miles), put $10 worth of gas in the truck and was told I still owed $28.00 more for gas. There is no way possible!! They asked me if I took pictures of the gas gauge before I left. I told them I had not. Jose...the "employee " said if I didn't have a picture he had to charge me another $28.00. This place is a scam!!! DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!

So this makes no sense. The manager tells you to return it before the ship is even open, then U-Haul customer service can't help and y'a need to drop the rental back. Faith in this company has dropped significantly and we will seek other options instead of dealing with bad business practice. Called back U-Haul and... 25 mins wait after being cut off. What a waste of time. Poorly run. Pass.

I have had my share of bad experiences at rental companies, so I came into this expecting something to go wrong. To my surprise, it was a quick and extremely pleasant experience. Daniel did an amazing job and went above and beyond to get us in and out as seamlessly as possible.

The people here are so kind and helpful. My experience there has been SO positive. I went in to this location in kind of a bind and needed a few things immediately. Ed helped me out and got me set-up no problem. He went above and beyond making sure that I had everything I needed and treated me with respect & such consideration. He is extremely kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Elvira was also outstanding. I can't say enough about my experience at the San Juan U-haul. The process couldn't have gone any smoother. No one enjoys moving so to help make things easier is exactly what everyone needs. Thank you to the kind people that work there, your help at a stressful time was so appreciated. I am so grateful.
