Books Inc. is a cute little hidden gem that offers a friendly service and a nice selection of children's books along with wonderful browsing for adults. The staff are helpful, friendly, and know their stuff. They provide handwritten staff recommendations and a complimentary gift wrapping table station that was very useful. The store is small, clean, and well stocked with great selection and good deals, and is a real bookstore compared to big box retailers. It is part of an independent chain with locations throughout the Bay Area. The San Leandro location is quaint, dog‑friendly, and the staff are super friendly, knowing the latest releases. Toddlers and a poodle puppy are entertained and will definitely return.
