A very spacious nursery. The staff was pretty busy. However, they are very helpful once you. approach them.

Asked for advice and got relevant feedback, from different crew members, regarding oleander, strawberry tree, moles, and monstera. A tiny bit pricy. Well organized. Healthy plants ?.

I’ve come here for the last 2 years or so dreaming of the day I could buy all the plants. Finally my time has come, and I feel so supported by the people who work at Evergreen Nursey. Every time I’ve been in the outdoor garden area, someone was always happy to help. Paul is wonderful! I feel his seasoned skills and passion when he educates and guides me through my garden journey, and I am so grateful for his straight up approach. He’s not a yes man to push products/plants. Another employee that stood out to me is Jason (I’m terribly sorry if I got their name wrong), he said he’s been working there for 2+ years & gardening for about 5. He let me ask a million questions, and didn’t make me feel like I was annoying him. He gave me hope that even if I mess up I can keep coming back to try again! Even though some of the plants & soils are pricey, I know they’re healthy & cared for compared to other places I’ve been. The staff alone makes me want to go out of my way (from Rodeo) to come back. Thanks to everyone there for being so wonderful & supportive to new gardeners :)

They had a rose I wanted that I had been having a hard time finding for this season in other places. I found their stock via a google. My lime tree and roses are very healthy. The delivery process to Oakland was easy peasy with the roses delivered about a week after the order. They were easy to call and communicate with throughout the process.

Great little nursery! Had all kinds of bark that I was looking for at a great price. There were a ton of drought tolerant plants, roses, and fruit trees. The staff is so nice and knowledgeable. I wish I found this place sooner.

Excellent selection of plants, including drought tolerant varieties and heirloom vegetables. The staff is knowledgeable and the prices are reasonable.Note: there was a credit card only (no cash) sign at my last visit.

They really know their stuff here and have a great selection at reasonable prices. We have bought quite a few plants here and trees over the past few years. Highly recommend!

I was in the area and remembered the nice selection of plants at Evergreen. I was in search of ground cover plants and Robert was my angel today. He didn't rush me, was extremely helpful, and gave me tips for planting/watering etc. Thank you Robert. I will gladly be back next time I'm in the East Bay.

An absolute dream! Do not, I repeat, do not buy your gardening supplies at home depot!

Staff here is so helpful! We bought a Japanese maple and the gardener told us everything we needed to know about the soil, how to pot it how to prune it. He even cleaned up some of the dead branches that were hidden under the foliage. The price was reasonable and I just love how open and beautiful the yard is there. It's like strolling through a garden, so much nicer than Home Depot.

I love stopping by here when I'm in town on business trips. I usually buy little plants for business partners and folks as a way of saying thank you. Their staff is kind and helpful. I could sit here for hours taking in all of the little details inside and outside. Affordable and well priced.

This review is for Evergreen Nursery employee Paul Loberg. I previously worked at this nursery for 5 years (1990-95), and Paul had already been employed there for probably 3-5 years before that, so people, that means that Paul has been dispensing knowledge and horticultural advice FOR OVER 30 YEARS! Think about that! There is not a plant or tree that Paul doesn't know about; There is not a yard-scenario that Paul doesn't know about (full sun, full shade, afternoon wind, deer resistant plants, etc.). He knows the soils here in the San Leandro/Oakland/ Castro Valley area. Which plant blooms when? He knows! When do I plant my 'Stockton Red' onions? He knows! How do I prune my roses? He knows (every year when the rose order arrives, Paul prunes about 1,500 before they are put on the sales floor). In short, Paul is a horticultural treasure, and you can shop at Evergreen Nursery confident in the care and knowledge Paul will give you! I think Evergreen should put up a statue in his honor! Cheers, Paul!

Want you to wear a mask in August 2022. Ridiculous. I left the items on the table and will do my business with a scienced based establishment. Many years patronizing this establishment.. no more..
