This place is overpriced they charge $1000 for a old mower and I went to 2 other shops and they only charged $600 they are a rip off they do cheap work wont be coming here again

Pg&e reported that power was going to be off from 8am to 5 pm today (02 15 24) ... I went to start my generator around 8 am and it was not not running right at all, I took it to HK engine and they had it back to me repaired in 90 minutes to 2 hours top! They gave me priority because they knew the power was out at my house... Fantastic business!!!

Tom and Kevin really take care of their customers. They have a decent arrangement of products for sale there and also service small machines and power tools. Will definitely be a return customer if needed. Thanks again Tom and Kevin.

3 terrible experiences having these guys try to repair generators. 1) Brought them a generator where the electric start wasn't working asking them to repair it. Instead of repairing it they removed the starter completely from the generator. 2) Brought them the same generator from (1) that only needed a new pull cord. They replaced the pull cord and when it got home the fuel economy switch didn't work any more. generator also making a weird fan noise now that it didn't used to make and other one of exact same make/model doesn't make. They say not their fault they didn't go near the computer, despite that part working fine when it was running prior to the pull cord snapping. 3) Brought them a generator with a working electric start and 30 amp circuit that needed a new 20 amp circuit. They sat on the generator for 2 months without doing anything, causing the the carburetor to go bad, charged me for a new carburetor, then when I went to pick up the generator the electric start was no longer working. Again, they say not their fault they didn't touch this.

After all my time and efforts to get supplies to put fresh gas and swap out the spark plug, I still couldn't figure out why my lawn mower wasn't starting. I knew I didn't want to buy a new mower, so I finally gave in and looked up a local mower repair shop and came across HK. I called and described my issue which then they mentioned the carburetor might need to be cleaned and gave me a quote. When I dropped it off a couple days later, they suggested a full tune up for not much more than the orginal quote which I thought was fair and worth doing since I never got it done before. After leaving a deposit and waiting 2-3 days, my mower was ready. The guys at HK Small Engine provided great service and communication for the repair. They promised to give me a call if the work went over their original quote, which it didn't. The turnaround time was fine with me and price was fair. My mower works and sounds better than before which makes me excited to mow my lawn again! I'll be sure to come back for any future services.
