I came to buy some wood for a project with a friend. Mind you we are women and not contractors so finding what we needed was difficult. At first it was impossible to find help- we looked soooo confused. Finally an employee named Bryant came to the rescue. He helped us figure out where the things were that we needed made sure we picked out the best wood to our liking, he was very patient and helpful. He loaded our cart and cut the wood. Our experience wasn't looking so good at first but Bryant came and totally changed the situation. Thank you so much- great job!

Online orders take way to long to get, staff doesn’t know anything, and the line is always super long because they only have self checkouts now with only a few open. One of the worst Home Depot’s I’ve been to in the Bay Area.

I was denied my military discount as the employee said I needed the HD app? My husband has it on his phone and I was visiting out of state and usually shops with him there but I was visiting my family so I did not have the app on my phone. I had my military identification but she said she cannot provide me the discount only through the app. I thought Home Depot supports our military but guess not. Disappointed and customer service was nil. Never again. Lowes gave me the discount. Service is definitely better.

Horrible after door installation service from home depot - home services. I have ordered a custom thermo-tru door from home depot. The custom door needs to have double door handles, but the door came with a single-hole door. Later Home service drilled an additional door but didn't fix my old lock/deadbolts properly. The home depot service is horrible, better do it with an external company to install the doors.

Home depot is perhaps one of the cheaper places to get stuff, but you'll pay the price. Rude staff, absurdly long lines, and stuff isn't where it's supposed to be. You'll need luck on your side to get what you need and get out with your sanity at this one.

Worse customer servicesThis lady who think she has power because she is the cashier start yelling to me that the self cashier is not working, I told her thanks and not reason for you to be so rude and yell and she starting laughing and talk trash, I asked for the manager and they said I had to go to customer service for that, I didn't have time to do all that but they should randomly check and their employees because I'm sure they can find better customer service

I'm not a DIY kind of person, so I go to Home Depot for houseplants. I've been on a hunt for a big Monstera and pothos. Today was the day I found BOTH! Wish it was cheaper. I miss OSH very much. There are a decent variety of decent sizes and species. Today, I also found air plants, plants in Halloween planters, money trees, fiddle leaf trees, and peace lilies.Weeknights are the best time to shop. Vertically no line.

Horrible customer service and super long lines with only one register open. This is unacceptable for such a large store.

Despite using the app to help locate a part. No one was able to help locate the part even though it was stated to be in stock. It seems like whenever you need help no one is able to actually take the time to help you. It seems like getting good customer service is a dieing trait in the work force. You have better customer service and free shipping from Amazon prime that goes above and beyond to make it easy for you to get your product. Along with you not having to waste you time to drive to a location that may or may not have the product you are looking for.

So I'm a retire contractor. Have been in a lot of HDs (unfortunately), and I've learned one very important thing. Your local lumber yard/hardware store is TONS better than this place. Like sheetrock for example. Go to HD, first you have to find a cart let alone one that's not falling apart. That's the first major battle. I swear there must be 5 carts in the whole place. You have to follow people leaving with carts to get one. Then you have to weed through sheets of beat up sheetrock. Then slide them on to your cart, navigate through the aisles, wait on a mile long line, checkout and roll your cart through the pothole/garbage ridden parking lot without your stuff sliding off the cart. Then you load it on your truck. About $11.50 a sheet.Compare this with going to a lumber yard like Larsen. Go to the desk, order your sheetrock, drive right up to it and THEY load your truck! About $1 more per sheet. Isn't that worth anything to you?Went to get some wire cable. I knew finding somebody to cut it was going to be hell on earth. And it was. I walked several aisles back. A guy was looking down at his phone. I started asking him if he could cut the cable, and another "associate" comes walking over, and the guy starts having a conversation WHILE I'm in the middle of asking him. The other guy leaves, he's still looking down at his phone and says "Yeah?". I said I needed some cable cut. He said ok man gimme a minute. I go there and wait and wait. He finally DOES show up and cuts it. But he has no slips to write it up, so I said why I don't just take a pick of the display tag and he says sure. Craziness.Aside from that, the store is very dark, they're out of basic stuff like 4" hose clamps for laundry. I looked on the app and it said 37 in stock. I asked a guy standing by he looked at the shelf with me, and said yup, out of stock. Did he change it to zero? Doubtful. Also, what's with the maze to get into the parking lot? I've been to Emeryville, Oakland and other bad areas, and this one is definitely the worst by far. After the incident a few days ago, I've had it with them. I can not wait until Outdoor Supply opens in San Leandro. I will order everything I can on Amazon, or go to Larsens or other hardware/lumber yards. The extra few dollars it costs is well worth my time and aggravation.

Good location - and in a convenient location near the highway exit. Compared to Lowes its not as customer friendly or clean or bright inside but sometimes you now what you want and don't feel the need to get fussed over...Been here multiple times over the years - and service has been similar on all occasion. Lines at the register can take a little bit of time. Flooring department is great - bought lots here over the years mostly for self install - carpet installers - i think were sub contractors did a great and fast job years ago.

They don't even offer curbside pickup. Don't shop here because the store doesn't care about your health and safety.

This place is the worst. The only bright spot in my one and only experience here is an employee named Kaelyn. I ordered a bed frame to pickup in store. It took a few weeks, past the normal expected delivery date, which is fine because I understand things are backed up with the pandemic. However, I called this store on two separate occasions with questions about my order and both times the phone rang...and rang...and rang...for ten minutes each time before I hung up. When my order came in, I went up to the pickup desk with my dad to check in. The line moved pretty fast. The girl who checked me in told me to wait and someone would bring my order out. They had me waiting outside the service desk, in a spot that didn't look like it was designated for anything. I was just standing next to some pesticide endcap with people whizzing by me with their masks pulled down under their noses. The place was PACKED. But mind you, the people who handle the customers in line are a SEPARATE department from the online order pickup (as I was told by one of the employees managing the line) so the order department should NOT have taken as long as it did. They didn't have very many people in their line. I waited, and waited some more, before I asked the same girl how long it might take, and how would the person know I'm waiting for an order in this nondescript spot with so many other people around? She replied there were a bunch of orders ahead of me and there was only one guy with the forklift. First of all, there was barely anyone in line to pickup orders, and I was the ONLY person just standing around waiting. So I waited another half hour before my dad asked the same girl what the hold up was about. She then seemed to spring into action (my dad is 6'4'' and a lot more naturally intimidating than myself) and said she was going to check on it with another girl. They both disappeared across the store. About 20 minutes later, they come back empty handed and continue working the registers at the pickup desk like nothing happened. At this point we're thinking, what the heck is going on? We're watching people who JUST got to the desk have their orders wheeled right out to them. Finally, my dad and I found the manager and told her we'd been waiting an hour to pickup. She said "Oh yeah the girls said they're going to the back to get it." I pointed to the girls who supposedly went to the back, because when they returned they obviously had already moved on and weren't grabbing my order. So then she goes, "Oh..well..so, it's up to you guys, do you want to cancel your order?" What? No! I already waited weeks for it to get here and paid $400 for it, at that point I was ready to just go back there and load it up myself! So the manager calls the forklift guy "Charlie" on the intercom three times before he actually shows up. AT LAST, a different person, my savior Kaelyn comes over to the desk to see what's going on and asks for my last name, walks to the back, and in two minutes she has my order coming out on the cart. Didn't even require a freaking forklift as the other girls and manager claimed. I'm 5'1'', 100 pounds soaking wet and I lifted all the boxes by myself. Kaelyn was amazing, the only nice person I dealt with, and the only person who actually did her job, which was to help people get what they need quickly and efficiently. Everyone else was standoffish and uninterested in helping. I'm not normally one to get extra and irritated with retail people because I've done it too and I respect what they do, but it was ridiculous and their attitudes made it worse. But big thank you to Kaelyn, for being super professional, sweet, and overall AWESOME.
