I attend yoga classes regularly in the auditorium. It's a beautiful space for yoga. Every fall, it begins as a nice clean venue. As they rent out the space for parties, the carpet gets more and more disgustingly dirty. Sometimes, after a party, they won't have cleaned properly after the party. I have stepped on broken glass and puns on multiple occasions. I hate that I can't find a clean space to place my mat. Some poses require us to reach off the mat to place our hands, and I will inadvertently place my hand in a sticky space. On the rare occasion they shampoo the carpet, I am happy in the space again. Last year's building supervisor made sure the space stayed clean. This year, they must have someone new because it is not kept to the same standard.

This is a beautiful and nice venue. A great spot for any event. On March 18th, I had a baby shower for my family and it turned out awesome and just a beautiful event. The only problem I experienced was at around 5:00pm-5:30pm (until 6:00pm), while me and my guest were cleaning up, socializing and carrying gift to and from our cars a fight next door (multi-purpose room A) broke out and moved near multi-purpose room B and was very disruptive behavior and a serious safety issue. The attendants constantly checked my room as the time approached for checkout, but should've kept a close eye on multi-purpose room A. The attendants on duty at the time didn't call the police and there was no security guard on duty at the time. This was not okay and someone could've been seriously injured or hurt. I had two pregnant moms, a photographer taking pictures near the patio, two individuals with a back injury, small children in strollers and a toddler walking around near the patio. I contacted the supervisor on Monday, March 20th and had to leave a message. Once the supervisor, Maria contacted me it was on Wednesday, March 22nd and she considered what I told her not a serious matter and told me that my event was over when the incident happened. WHAT, WHAT???? I let Maria know that me and my guest were caught up in the crossfire and should be compensated of some of my money. Maria told me over the phone that I was "AGGRESSIVE" and there was nothing she could do about what happened on Saturday, March 18th and that what happens at the venue is out of her control. What?? This disruptive behavior could've caused a major fatality for me and my guest. The fight continued in the parking lot and my guest were afraid to get in their cars. I informed Maria that she needs to better train her staff when it comes to supervising an event. The attendants were useless and did nothing to help with the safety of those using the other rooms at the venue. Those in multi-purpose room A should've been told to leave and they automatically should lose their refundable deposit. They didn't follow any of the rules listed on the reservation and were drunk and smoking "Weed" on the premises. This is not okay and I was not happy at the outcome of how the supervisor came at me. She also said, "Don't use the Marina Community Center again". What is going on I told her. Does Disruptive Behavior happen all the time at the venue? I will next time, check out the venue for safety before reserving. We are coming out of a three year pandemic and with the high rise in violence in our communities, SAFETY is my top priority and the San Leandro police should've been called. Maria did say "Non-emergency Police" was contacted. Those individuals in Multi-Purpose room A had a fight twice and it carried into the parking lot and they had lots of young kids running around unsupervised. This was serious and again the police should've been called to the Marina Community Center and resolved.
