I take the time to write detailed reviews when a place truly earns it, and the Marina Boulevard and San Leandro location has done exactly that — consistently. This is my third review, and each visit continues to reinforce why this location stands out so clearly from others.
What sets this place apart is not just good service, but exceptional people. Every staff member I’ve encountered has been welcoming, respectful, and genuinely attentive. They listen carefully, explain things thoroughly, and treat every interaction with patience and care. There is a sincerity here that cannot be trained or scripted — it comes from a team that clearly values what they do and the people they serve.
The atmosphere reflects that same level of intention. The location is well-organized, calm, and inviting, creating an experience that feels professional yet personal. Nothing feels rushed or transactional. Instead, you leave feeling supported and valued, which is something many businesses aim for but very few actually achieve.
It’s rare to see this level of consistency across multiple visits, and that is why this review matters. Great experiences can happen once by chance — great experiences happening again and again are the result of strong leadership, thoughtful training, and a culture that prioritizes kindness and accountability.

Was able to come and be assisted by the beautiful, kind, and amazing Alicia.
Alicia color matched my daughter with Ilia. And explained the findings of the color match regard to moisturizer recommendations!
Although Alicia had to leave fro lunch the smoothe transition to Maui who helped us checkout via the scanner electronically with waiting further in line was an added bonus.
Will definitely return for future needs!

I purchased the cologne sampler kit in-store because it came with a redeemable voucher for a full-size product. However, when I got home and opened it, the voucher was missing. I went back to the store to ask for help, and the manager immediately asked if there had been a plastic seal on the zipper. When I said no, they told me, “Oh, then it was probably stolen.”
I honestly can’t believe the store is aware that these vouchers are being stolen and still continues to sell these kits without checking them first. If they know the signs of tampering, why not inspect the products before letting customers pay full price for something incomplete? It’s also disappointing that they don’t seem to make any effort to track or replace missing vouchers, it feels like the responsibility is unfairly pushed onto the customer.
Their only offer was to let us choose from what they had in stock or get nothing, and of course, they didn’t have our top two choices. We bought this kit specifically for the flexibility of choosing whichever cologne we wanted, but we didn’t get that experience at all because the store sold us a tampered product.
Very frustrating experience, I expected better quality control and customer care from a store like this. I won’t be purchasing sampler kits here again.

I went in for updated makeup. It's been a while since I used it. Alexander was amazing! He gave me the best customer service. Super knowledgeable and kind. Always smiled and had a great attitude. Gave me great recommendations for makeup and other products. All the items I purchased I love! I highly recommend this store.

This store sure has a way to make you feel very uncomfortable. I went in today to pick up an online order I made for my daughter. She wanted to gift one of her teachers a lip gloss. Based on my previous interactions ( not good and felt judged the store), I opted to do a pick up where I will just walk in and pick up my products that I paid for online and leave. When I pulled into the parking spot in front of the store, I noticed a guy standing in front of Sephora ( black guy about 5 foot 11 long beard) and he was on his phone. I figured he was security, no big deal. I just thought it was very interesting that he was on his phone instead of working. So I walked into the store and against my better judgment I went to go look at more lip products. Now I'm a medical professional ( I even had my scrubs on when I was in today as this event took place), and I pay great attention to detail out of habit, and I noticed that he walked into the store just as I did and in the section where I was in was in his direct line of site. OK fine so when I finish in the lip section, I went over to the section where they have the merit brand and wanted to smell their fragrance. He just so happens to be in that section and as soon as I got up to the section very close to him, he decided to leave the section. Mind you he's still on his phone talking to someone. At that point, I was annoyed, went up to the cash register paid for my lip balm, and picked up the products I ordered online. At that point as I'm walking out I noticed he still on his phone by the door and walks out of the store as soon as I did. And I thought to myself that that was really odd and I felt singled out. So he went in as I went in and walked out when I was done in the store. I sat in my car answering work emails which took a minute and the whole time he was still outside on his phone, glancing over at me, which annoyed me even further. He was literally in front of my car where I can see him and he can see me very clearly. This was so bothersome to me. I can't even shop in peace. I have no reason or need to steal anything! This just left another bad taste in my mouth for this location. Actually a bad taste in my mouth for Sephora. If things are so bad with theft then maybe a change in how things are presented or security tags or stickers should be implemented, but not to make the customer feel very uncomfortable in the store especially when they're only in for five minutes. Once again, I'm disgusted.

Worst Sephora ever. Nothing in stock and store is disgusting. None of the floor workers know anything about the products or their inventory. Not helpful. Will avoid this location at all costs.
