Dropped of a sick looking stray cat that looked like it had been neglected and honestly very sick. They were friendly and helpful. I hope the little guy gets better and someone adopts him soon.

HORRIBLE place. Took my kitten here because she has a mass in her mouth, I waited 4 hours and got charged 200$ for them to tell me something I already knew. I was told surgery would cost over 1000$ so I decided to find a different place. When she was discharged they didn’t give any medicine when i can clearly see that she also has an infection in her mouth. When i took my other cat to this place a year ago when he had a urinary block they didn’t charge me to do a exam. Everyone there just seemed like they were ready to leave. If i could give a 0 i would.

I’ve been to many vets trying to find a good fit for my two dogs. When my rottie was diagnosed with lymphoma we took her here and I’ve never felt more comfortable leaving her at a clinic. The vet techs have been the nicest and she’s getting used to them and likes them so much more than any other vets she’s been to. Never been able to calmly lay down in the waiting room.

Extremely efficient and caring staff. We were in for the EOL procedure and they showed empathy and provided a great care. We are very grateful and will recommend this place to all our friends.

Establishment felt kinda off.I will say this place was surprisingly clean (they clean often), they have beverages, and free wifi. The staff was extremely courteous and professional. I can't express how nice they were. However, I felt uncomfortable often because of the miscommunication in wait times. At first I was expecting about an hour wait and then front desk mentioned 2-3hrs and when the technician came out, it became 3-4 hours. Fortunately my entire visit took 2 hours. I called ahead of time and was not informed of the possible wait times.I also didn't see them administer the medication or fluids on my cat which was very unusual since I've always been present for these things. I either had to wait another half an hour in the exam room for someone to check the room first or have them administer fluids and medication out of sight. This is the bay area, so of course it isn't cheap. However, their prices do costs A LOT. Significantly more than their competitors in the area. With a $200 emergency visit + medicine, I left and walked out with learning nothing about my cats problems and felt that it was an unproductive visit.Thank you to the kind staff but would not recommend this location to anyone.

My mom and I brought my dog in to be seen on Wednesday 10/25/23. My dog is usually unfriendly with men, but he really took a liking to William. William was so kind, caring, and patient not only with my dog, but also with my mom and I. The front desk was incredible, I couldn’t figure out how to make a tea using their coffee maker and they were kind enough to show me how to do it 3 different times. We spent about five hours here and William made sure to keep us updated on what they’d done so far with our dog and give us an estimate on how much longer til we would be able to see the Dr.This is the third vet we’ve taken our dog to with concerns of his cough, lethargy and weight gain. Dr. Legallet was able to address our concerns with our dog and we’ve already seen incredible changes. She sent him home with a cough suppressant and found out his thyroid levels were incredibly low. With the cough suppressant and thyroid medications, our dog is starting to act like himself again. We are so grateful for Dr. Legallet and William for taking such good care of our dog. We are also incredibly grateful to Ruben for recommending we come here and see Dr. Legallet. Thank you guys so much!

Their front desk and technician staff are friendly BUT we felt like we were being milked for maximum billings and everything was customized to ensure they can process us as quickly as possible for their convenience rather than for our dog or for us. Our particular vet also had a mediocre and brusque ‘bedside’ manner and we would specifically recommend avoiding her. Shop around, you can find similar services with better care at a lower price. We discovered the premium we paid only post-surgery when we spoke to friends and found out they paid 10-30% less. We nevertheless would have been ok with the higher price if the service levels justified it.

I brought my cat here a few months back when she got sick - not drinking, not eating, and lethargic. The front desk staff was friendly and while the wait time was long, they were upfront about it.The vet ran tests/blood work, took an x-ray to check for blockages, and gave her fluids. We were told that all of the tests were normal -- no concerns. They encouraged us to keep an eye on her eating/drinking and return if her symptoms didn't get better. After two days with no improvement, we went to a different vet. She reviewed the same test results and pointed to one that was way outside of the normal range -- almost five times the upper end -- and indicated a pretty bad infection that was missed by the staff. While I understand the staffing challenges, the long wait and missed diagnosis were concerning, especially considering the substantial cost. Attention to detail and thoroughness should be a priority, even in busy times.

VCA was referred to us by Oakland SPCA when my dog needed surgery. That was about 2 years ago. Recently she was diagnosed with a tumor on her bone, she was in so much pain, she couldn't walk nor was she eating. We didn't realize it at the time, but found out yesterday about the tumor. Her front leg was to be amputated or euthanize her. Such a devastating choice because the cancer could also spread. The pain was too much for her and we chose to put her to sleep. I wasn't expecting to not bring her home from a doctors appointment. Instead we had to leave her there. It was devastating but her heart rate was way too high because of her pain. She was a trooper !Thanks to Dr. Katz and her team for being gentle with our dog. RIP my love.....

We went there devastated with our 10 year old Tibetan Terrier girl diagnosed with lymphoma and her health condition worsened so fast after diagnosis. I'm so grateful to the team. Starting from my very first interaction through the call booking an urgent appointment to the receptionist and the specialist team and nurses, they gave us confidence that our girl is being looked after by caring people. Thank you so much! We lived our worse nightmare today and you guys have been a great comfort!P.S. Philip I can't thank you enough for helping us today and your caring manner!

I am so thankful to VCA for helping my German Shepherd get through a rough time. In a matter of 24 hours they were able to get his energy back as well as his appetite . Yes they are expensive, but any emergency vet is unfortunately. Thank goodness I have pet insurance.

I went to VCA Veterinary after our vet of many years was not willing to help with end of life care for our elderly pet that was in very bad condition. They wanted us to wait at least three days over the weekend before they would see our pet. I called VCA, and they told me that they would see our pet right away after explaining our situation. All the staff that helped me were very understanding & compassionate. The staff helped me through a difficult time & treated me and my sick pet with respect. I am especially grateful for Philip at VCA Veterinary, who was especially helpful to me.

Two days ago I had to bring my chihuahua is because she was whining a lot and not going pee or poo. When I got there they were very nice and took my little one in , a couple hours later they told me the options of what’s best for him. They sendend him with pain medicine but they also told me if that it doesn’t work then the best thing for him is to have him down. He’s name is Midenite

Im updating my review. I understand they got slammed and it just happened on the day my pet was in. If my pet was in a life-threatening situation I would want him to be seen immediately.(I did end up taking him to the urgent care place they suggested after I got him back after 5 1/2 hours and found 2 foxtails lodged in his toe pads.)
