Tried to get in hold with costumer service and they made me wait for 15 minutes and then, I had to hang up since, nobody was answering me.

Loving the newly remodeled grocery store.... LOOKS GREAT and customer service is AWESOME... came mid day and the store was very well stocked, clean, organized and looked great... meat and veggies looks fresh and prices awesome .... the butcher area was even better... offering seasoned meats y the pound with great customer service to go with it... i think i found my new grocery store!

Be CAREFUL when purchasing from the Deli in this store. I am often over charged by quite a bit. Check the price posted then the tag they have printed and attached to container.

It looks so much better than before. I rated a 4 because the wonderful African American woman at the deli she was so nice! I couldn't figure out what turkey meat to choose but she didn't making me feel rushed at all. She even asked if I wanted any samples.

Not a very good store. It's too small to find anything you want and the employees are not very happy. I haven't been there in a year and it's really gone down hill. The bakery is especially terrible but it always has been for several years. I really hope they can fix up the place and run it the right way now that it looks absolutely picture perfect in all these new photos. I wish the people who work there would bring a better attitude towards each other and their customers.

Their customer service sucks. Rude Asian man at self checkout seems like he hates his job and is annoyed if he has to move from the chair. Way to make us feel welcomed. Super disappointed I asked a question and he didn't know the answer so he's like I can't help you. Ok? Is their some one that can ?

I went in today, the store does look better but that's no reason for lousy customer service. I have been a long time shopper with this store, I belong to the rewards program. My problem is mainly the cashiers at self check out. 2 weeks ago I went thru, a older lady (i would guess north of 80) was having trouble and they had a very large man with greasy hair just sit on his fat a** and do nothing. I complained to a line mgr (head cashier) and she said she would mention it to her mgr. Today I went in to pick just a few items. As I was running them thru the scanner I was purchasing three boxes of these fig bars filled with various flavors (strawberry, lemon and blueberry), the first two went thru as expected, $4.65 each, blueberry scanned as $ 5.24, when I asked the clerk to fix the price because they were all the same except the flavors, she first called another clerk to do a price check, 5 minutes later the clerk returned and said "yep" that's the price. The cashier wasn't going to adjust the price even though it was obvious the blueberry was mis-marked. I wont be going back, Customer service is more important than price for anything, anywhere, the 2 stars are for the remodel.

Just visited here recently, I got to admit the whole store looks a whole lot better since the remodel. All the ugly white floors, ugly gray check stands, and filthy refrigerators and freezers have all been replaced with brand new ones even with doors. Produce looks better than before and the floor is really nice. And also the check stands or replaced as well too. There is also a hot deli food bar area as well and a sitting area. The store has come along way.

The grumpy white old man at the self-check talked to me like I was a child. He criticized the way I checked out and told me to "stop. Look what you are going. What should you have done? Look!" instead of assisting me and helping me. I don't appreciate being a treated like an child and yelled at. Will not shop here again. Work on your costumer service.

Even with the re model this grocery store is outdated they are always out of basic items Safeway is ten times better they still need to staff more people

I use to shop at this store. The staff has changed a lot & you see new people there constantly. The deli /bakery seems to have a swinging door of new staff constantly. Either they are quitting or not showing up. I hear the girls talking., they are not happy. The smiles are fake or sadly forced. Nobody seems genuinely happy. A lot of the girls that have been there for decades are gone. I hear they left either to get closer to home but mostly because of an unbearable manager. Shelves are not stocked & a lot of the new clerks don't know how to communicate or know where items are. Sadly even with the remodel there seems to be a cloud of gloom. The manager is completely unfriendly & rude. I've seen how she talks to her staff & it's no wonder they are miserable. Hopefully they make some changes. The past manager have been great. I will not shop here anymore. I gave it one star only because I had to

This location is a hit or miss. I stopped going to this location for a while because some items didn't seem so fresh or didn't seem well kept. The two stars given are for the great cashier, Mike who seems to be the friendly one. The second star was for the one birthday cake I ever ordered at this location. Today, I had Mike who helped me check out. In the middle of the transaction, he had to leave and a young man named, Nicholas hopped on board. I'm not sure if he was having a bad day or if he's really just rude. Line was long and he took his time ringing my items and then tossing my groceries over to the other side. After paying for my groceries, he tosses my change into my hand? I don't know what that was about. The lady next to me saw the exchange and said, what was that about? I shrugged my shoulders and Nicholas just looked at the lady as if he wanted to cuss her out. I left the store to get away from the negative vibes. Yup, pretty sure I won't be back. Next time, I'll make sure to get my mail from my PO BOX a few stores down and head back to Castro Valley to do my groceries.

I recently had an issue with the pharmacy at this store which in brief left me in shock after my encounter with Marlene. My HIPPA laws were violated as well as her yelling, yes yelling over the counter. We spend a lot of $ there and even if we didn't no one deserves the degrading and embarrassing verbal attack by this employee. I wrote a letter to corporate who gave the job to the guy in charge of pharmacies and who did nothing. Not even an apology from anyone. Just told me he would deal with it but could not tell me what the outcome with the employee would be. But NO apology? really? Jo Lopez

I have mixed feelings about this store. My main gripe is that I've come across items on the shelves that were expired by a bit on more than one occasion. Once was even in the snack area at the shelf check out line where you'd pick stuff up on the way in line. It's super annoying because I don't want to hold up the line checking for the expiration dates on things, I will say in comparison to the Target near by the selection is better, and being able to find something in stock is more likely here. However, compared to Safeway the selection here is mediocre. It would be great if they offered more organic, gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO types of food options.
