My review is based entirely on a great phone call. Although they were quick to let me know that my needs fell outside of their area of expertise, they took the time to share their thoughts about my options in the community. I really appreciate their kind attention to sending me off informed and in the right direction.

Bought a speaker from them. It was poorly packed and damaged in shipping. They didn't provide a refund, even though they chose the shipper and prepared the package, nor did they lift a finger to help with FedEx, who explained that they would only reimburse the party that paid for shipping. I went back and forth with them several times but they blew me off since I'm out of state. I learned they have several BBB complaints against them (no wonder). I would avoid doing business with them at all costs. There are other great retailers out there who will take care of their customers.

I've been going into Audio Ecstacy for over 20 years to listen to audio demos and drool over cool gear. I started going in there in the early 1990's when I was in grade school. Even as a young teenager with no ability to buy anything everybody was super cool and nobody ever rushed us out of the shop. I hadn't gone in to the shop in several years but I finally returned recently to purchase a new AV receiver. I wasn't sure what I was looking for but Mike was willing to spend a LOT of time talking to me about my needs and many other fun topics. We hit it off quite well. He made me a hell of a deal on a new Yamaha receiver to replace my old outdated unit and I am listening to it as I write this review. It sounds amazing. Most of the "mom and pop" shops have disappeared as Best Buy and the other big box stores have shown up in our small town. I can tell you Mike will not only match their prices but he will absolutely blow away their service. He even has brands the box stores could never get their hands on! I encourage anybody who wants to see some cool vintage, modern or rare gear to swing in and spend some time. Thanks Mike!

Went in to buy some headphones. Mike was super friendly and me gave lots of good information. Selection was good for entry level headphones but there were only a few models of relatively higher end headphones. This was unfortunate, but understandable. Mike patiently let me try the headphones out and looked up information on the pairs I was interested in.The selection of speakers, amplifiers, turntables and other audio equipment was extensive.

So it's not like you can look at a bunch of specifications, and select the lowest distortion and most watts and expect a good sound. No more than looking at the fat content of meat and the BTU if your stove snd expect s good.meal... though Crotchfirld would tell you otherwise. No audio us like a well planned meal with quality ingredients and a chef who knows what plays nice with what under what conditions to give you an Audio mind blowing experience. That's why buying audio gear online is a complete waste of your time , packing tape and the UPS Man's back . If you pay MSRP or even OVER to get the maximum perfect matched system and tubing fir your room it will cost you 5-10 times less than a lifetime of mistakes to learn how to do it right . So be patient with the old sages ,,, they know the path.
