Barnes & Noble is a classic, well-stocked brick and mortar bookstore in downtown San Luis Obispo. It is a two-story building with a huge selection of books, organized and clean confines, and a large discount books area on the first floor. Customers find it is a wonderful place where they can almost always find what they need and want, including a shockingly large selection of manga, great Lego sets, and board games. The store features a kids section that is really great, with more than just books. Upstairs, there is a little cafe with friendly staff. While some note the removal of much comfy seating from its hayday, it remains a stalwart bookstore with a pleasant atmosphere. The staff are noted as kind and friendly. Many customers express they will definitely return, considering it the best Barnes & Noble they have seen and a first place to go for books.
