Needed a car for a weekend in Paso Robles, a one-way rental back to Oceanside. Everything about my experience was excellent! From the counter staff, the vehicle, the return staff, not to mention, cheaper than a one-way flight back home! No need to look elsewhere, I'll be back to Budget every time.

Vanessa and Jeff rescued our vacation by helping us exchange our, stressful to charge EV vehicle SD budget gave us on our coastal road trip.My husband and I are so grateful we were able to get a standard gas vehicle at this SLO budget rental and turn in our stress producing EV vehicle.

Worse rental car place I've ever been to. The employee was so rude I couln't believe it. He behaved like he was a robot rather than human, no hello or any human polite conversation. Also gave me the wrong customer bill upon returning the car. No excuse whatsoever. Skipbudget and go next door.

Extremely unprofessional. Employees leave the desk unattended during their advertised hours of operation and then loiter taking their sweet time upon their return. If renting using a debit card (as accepted on their website's booking precheck) they will then attempt to extract further personal information including social security numbers and be deceitful about the purpose. Cost might be a little less than competitors like Enterprise but the additional headache and unprofessionalism make it not worth it.

quick and easy rental car experience. not typical of Budget I have to say. Returns were a bit confusing as there were no attendants or spots to drop the car off. I ended up parking it in front of other Budget cars and going to the in-airport counter to drop off the keys.

If there was a zero star option I would give it hands down. This company has no sense of urgency and wasted nearly two hours of my time between the wait to speak to an agent and the wait to get the car. no customer service. No apology. No give a damn. Will never rent from Budget again.

This is the second time i’ve tried to write this because it took so long! We had a reservation months in advance, got off the plane, and went straight to the Budget desk. There was a long line, slow moving, whatever. When we finally got to the front, the guy took our id and credit card, then told us they would need to go try to find a car, have it washed..?, then “come find us.” We asked if we could fill out paperwork to expedite the process once we had the car, but he said no we’d have to do it later. After about 30 mins of waiting, a guy that seemed to be a manager showed up and helped us. I’m not sure what Budget at SLO’s policy is, but it is not working! Go somewhere else.

This is the second and last time I will rent from Budget at this airport!! Same bad experience both times- with very long lines and slow service while the other agencies have much shorter lines and get their customers out the door quickly.

I have a car rented but it’s been over an hour and I’m still on line. Other agencies in the airport are moving customers through promptly. Won’t rent from Budget again!

Rented a truck for 3 daysDrove all the way to San Luis only to find they had no vehicles availablePlus it took them 2 hours to tell me they had no availability

Forgot to make this review awhile back great experience and nice car got me from point a to point b no issues and the customer service was amazing had a young gentleman named Chad help me at the desk I believe . Overall just a good rental experience enjoy the beers ?

I was. charged a. cleaning fee for pet hair when I never had a pet in the car. They implied I smoked in the car when I don’t smoke or vape. If you want to be cheated I would go to the Budget Rent A Car At The San Luis Obispo, Ca. Airport. I know I was cheated.

We made our reservation over 6 months ago, when our plane arrived we went straight to Budget counter, after waiting in line almost 2 hours, they tell us the only car they had was one that had ants in it, they assured us it had been sprayed, They sent one of their guys thay brings cars to customer put to check it. Fortunately he was very honest and said there were still ants, so we couldn't take that car, I was so relieved. Then they told us we would have to wait 45 minutes for a car that was being returned and we would have to wait for them to clean. Not too happy about that since we had now been there 2 hours.They were saying that they had no other cars. The nice, honest young man then suggested a vehicle that would have been a slight upgrade, at first the lady (seemed to be the boss) said no! Then she realized we could hear her and agreed to it. Three stars because we did eventually get a vehilce, however it was a close call. We would have been stuck! Won't use budget again.
