I was under home health care for about two months during the first trimester of my pregnancy due to hyperemesis gravidarum. My nurse was sweet and wonderful, but the company will not give us the refund they owe us. Until the claims were accepted and processed by our insurance company, we had to pay up front for services. We paid thousands of dollars out of pocket and were told we would be reimbursed once Crescent received payment from our insurance. It has now been three months since these dates of service, and we have still not been reimbursed, even though Crescent has cashed all of the payments from our insurance company. My husband has called the local office several times, and he is always transferred to a a corporate office in Chicago. He left 20 voice messages before anyone returned his call. Finally, he spoke to a woman at corporate who said it would be another 30 days before we could be refunded. After 30 days had passed, he was given the same response: It will be another 30 days before you will receive your refund. This company took advantage of us as young, first-time expecting parents. At first they said they could work with us on a payment plan, but they demanded more money every week or they would not deliver the food bags for my IV, which they said were essential for my survival and that of our baby. We had to continue to pay out of pocket for several weeks because Crescent gave the insurance company the wrong billing codes at first, which delayed coverage. Then they said they "forgot to bill the insurance" for several dates of service, which also delayed coverage. Now we cannot pay for our other medical bills and are being harassed by the hospital for payments. I found this experience so stressful during my pregnancy that I was almost hospitalized again for anxiety and high blood pressure. We are ready to take legal action at this point, and our insurance company is now involved. Do not use this home health company! It's been a nightmare!
