I contracted Sandercock and a North American van lines for an interstate move to a storage unit because I had not purchased a home before the move. Apparently, the move was more difficult, because they had to get a U-Haul to transfer everything to the semi because the semi could not make it up to the house. The movers appeared to be really good and conscientious until they started rushing to finish. They had one incident where the load was damage between the U-Haul and the semi. The crew unloading after reaching the destination, were extremely careless and would not even listen on the unloading and packing into the 3 storage units. There was a lot of damage, scrapes and gouges in some very expensive furniture and many boxes were crushed. The worst part and reason for this review, is that we were told we had 9 months to file a claim, which was denied. We were never warned: once you move from the storage units, they will not honor any claim, because they cannot verify it. Even with pictures they still want an adjuster to verify. I was never informed that we needed to verify it before the move OUT of STORAGE. So, if you do decide to use them, be warned and don't make the costly mistake I made. I have damage to over $15000 in furniture and items that were moved. This is their insurance policy. One additional note, The move cost over $50,000 and was estimated at $35,000. I would not recommend this company to Friends or Enemies.

Worst moving experience we’ve ever had as a military family. They broke all of our beds and lost items. Avoid this company

Do not use this company for any reason. This has been the worst experience ever. They do not care about your move or your things. They were unprepared like this was their first move

I must say that I am very disappointed and annoyed in the service level provided by Sandercock Transfer Company. I understand that moving during the summer can be pretty busy and I wanted to not only secure an early date, I was also cognizant of the scheduling constraints. I originally contacted Bill at Sandercock in early March for a quote of shipping my furniture and boxes. Bill was very responsive in providing a quote; however, when working with customer service, the service level dropped (on a scale of 1-10) to a 1. Listed below are some (not all) incidents of the poor customer service level provided by Sandercock's customer service/ moving team: - Customer service failed to call back after requesting an additional cost of moving materials to a second location. Two weeks later, I had to call back for the cost. It was assumed that I would be adding this change to move without authorization. - One day before the move, late in the afternoon, I had to call Sandercock's customer service to find out when the movers would arrive. It was reported they would arrive between 9-10am. Customer service originally stated "someone" would call me 2 days before the move with the information; however, no call was ever received. - On the day of the move, I called customer service at 11am to find out when the movers would arrive. Customer services stated she could no longer give me a time when they would arrive. Movers arrived 5 hours after the original time advised from the previous day. A call was received 15 minutes before their arrival. - I advised customer service that items were identified with the location for delivery. Customer service stated I should advise the moving team. I advised the movers; however, they did not separate materials according to addresses, but would "make a note." No note was made by the moving team and Ruben, the second moving subcontractor, had to unload materials and repack according to addresses causing him to double handle the materials. No notes were made on the documentation by customer service or the moving team. - The moving team did not advise where the hardware for the refrigerator was placed. After 2 hours of searching, I found that they had thrown the hardware in a bag in a packaged trashcan. - I requested the movers remove the cost and let the office know that I packaged the mattresses myself. Originally, I asked for the quote to include mattress wrapping. When I received the bill, no communication to customer service was made to remove the cost for packaging the mattresses. The bill was readjusted at that time. I feel as though my money was most important as they failed to communicate regarding the moving time, make notes on the documentation to the movers, explain the process of the claims... Sincerely, Suzanne B.

Picked up when they said they would. They had an issue with their ramps but fixed it, came back and got my cars to the destination without any additional issues. Highly recommend.

I just want to take a minute and thank the 3 gentlemen from Sandercock for the professional and conscientious manner that they handled and packed our precious belongings for shipment to our new home in Hawaii! Special shout-out to Joseph for the masterful job he did to ensure safe transit of our family heirloom stained glass window. He even provided photo updates of the special crate that was built at their warehouse for the glass and showed how the crate was snuggled between our other belongings for shipping. Great work guys!

Contracted Sandercock and a North American van lines for an interstate, full service, move. Price was lower than a couple other bids and since we were referred by the future employer. The initial quote was over the phone due to Covid and we asked for a two drop move since about half was going into storage. This was our 7th interstate move in the last 20 years so we are experience, this was far and away the worst move of all time. Then the move came. We had separated items for the house and for storage. The packers were told this but mixed things together. We spent several hours a day for a couple weeks sorting out things in the storage unit after the move. Things were sloppily packed with open boxes of food dumped with dishes etc. we contracted them for crating of some artwork etc. the crater didn't show up until the day of loading then took off, never to be found, and didn't finish the crating of a quartz tabletop. After waiting for about six hours a couple others showed up to complete making the movers wait for two hours after finishing loading. When we arrived at the new house the delivery team was several hours late showing up. The two guys they hired locally to unload decided it was too much work and took off. We are both in our sixties but we spent the day unloading our own truck. We had contracted for a drop at storage but the contract omitted this and the driver told me he would do the drop unless I paid him $400 cash. It was dark and late so I did it to get it over with. They didn't uncrate anything and we had to wait ten days for items to be uncrated and Sandercock initially told the uncrating company we had to pay for that ourselves. I raised hell so that didn't happen. During this time I continually contacted Ann Thompson at Sandercock and explained the mess. Five to six asked for the general manager, Bill, to call me but he wouldn't speak to me. He let Ann take the crap. Such a weasel and weak person he is . We were told we would be reimbursed for our efforts to unload, the extortion of $400, and also for the fact we were under the weight estimate. We were told we would receive $567 refund. Five weeks later I contacted Sandercock and was told by Ann that the driver told North American he had more to do at the storage unit so we would not be receiving any refunds. All they did was unload, using a flatbed provided by the storage center, and stack things in a large storage unit. There were no stairs and an easy in and out for the truck. They didn't contact us and ask about it. Never use this bunch of losers. Meat head movers would have gotten our order except they don't move pianos. The manager Bill is a l**** who wont' talk to customers when they just paid $24,000 for a move.

I would unfortunately not recommend this company or North American VanLines. We received our 1st truck, delayed, with 55 + item broken. Our remaining items were received 24 days later with more broken items. They claim no responsibility at all. We are very very disappointed with their service and how they handled our move.

I really wanted to give them a good review, mostly because the guys that moved me out of my place we're great. BUT the rest of the experience, not great at all. Moved from San Luis Obispo to Salt Lake City. Received my delivery window when my stuff was picked up (about 10 days). That delivery window came and went, with no communication on where my stuff was or notification that is was delayed. The last day of the window I reached out and they let me know they'd check for an update. No update given. Had to reach out again, and was informed it would arrive to SLC in 4 days. Then the new delivery date came and went, and yet no communication or confirmation of delivery. Weekend happened, Monday (still nothing). So finally I call the delivery partner, and they let me know they'll be delivering my stuff in the morning. So much for a 24 hour notice. If you're moving out of state I recommend going with someone who has a guaranteed delivery date and knows how to communicate, unless you enjoy having no idea when your stuff will arrive and spending "just one more night" in a hotel waiting for a response from your moving company.Update: to add to the lack of communication and professionalism, I have found several noticeable damages to my items since receiving.

Twelve years ago they moved us from SLO to San Diego. And kept half of the household in permant storage. Recently went back to SLO to empty the last crate: w 2 choices: pitch, donate bring back to SD. Bill (owner) Ann (bookkeeper) could not have been more helpful on this occasion or the major move. I was in the military for a long time and moved 18 times. Sandercock is probably the best moving and storage company we've ever worked with. Can't go wrong w Sandercock: fair, competitive price, timely courteous and super helpful. Top drawer company.

We moved in the height of Covid and Sandercock was extremely professional, kind and efficient! Their staff, from scheduling, was extremely helpful and patient as we tried to determine our move date. Their moving crew was exceptionally efficient and friendly. We did unfortunately have a few items break, but we had a very large move so that is pretty good considering the large amount of things that needed to be packed and transported. They quickly processed our claim and sent us a refund check for the broken items. I would highly recommend them!

This is the WORST WORST WORST company on the planet. I moved about 2 miles away approximately 10 years ago, and I still remember the nightmare they caused. They were EXTREMELY CARELESS and broke the glass shade of my Italian floor lamp, AFTER I saw them put it in the loaded truck with nothing to protect the glass top. I asked them to cover it and they said it would be "fine" like it was. It broke, they wouldn't pay for it, and it cost me $800.00 to replace the shade. They lost the finals that hold the mirror on to the dresser and said they never had them. I have been unable to find replacements. If that wasn't enough, they took a SMOKING break in my driveway and tossed their still lit cigarettes into the dirt where my landscaping was. They left and I happened to go outside (thankfully) and my landscaped hillside was on fire!!!! I called them, and they didn't care. I grew up in SLO and wanted to use a 'local' company - BIG BIG MISTAKE! STAY AWAY FROM THESE INCOMPETENTS!

I want to do a shout out to first Joseph at the warehouse in Santa Maria, t’was a pleasure to meet & do business with you, to the “Dream Team” which consisted of Vincent, Vinnie & Fernando, ... you guys ROCKED in getting my Mom’s things packed up today! You all were fabulous, thank you soooo very much! I’ll be chatting again with Ann (in SLO) in the morning, wish we’d had a chance to meet! You all have helped to make this move for us go much more smoothly. My thanks to you all & Sandercock Transfer Company!

The one star was a gift. They don't have minuses. I'm still waiting for Sandercock to repair the damage they did to the wood flooring when the previous owner moved out. Big promises by the previous owner & realtor that the flooring would be repaired by these yahoos. But they refused to come to the phone when I called. The person who answered said the owner wasn't in the office -- for years. They have avoided me for 6.5 years. Corrupt, dishonest & lousy movers. STAY AWAY FROM THESE SLIMEBALLS.
