My favorite laundromat. Always clean, always machines/dryers available and reliable. They have an app that's easy to use to pay for laundry via card. They also have a vending machine with washer/dryer items for convenience.

Oh my goodness what a great place to do clothes! And the attendants, especially a beautiful woman named Alex, are magicians when it comes to removing anything whether it's gone through the dryer or not! She saved a super favorite sweater of mine from paint (?) that had been dried on! It's very clean here, the machines are like new and affordable and it's super easy to pay with an app so you don't even need cash or quarters (though they do have a quarter machine too!) I love the atmosphere here. Peaceful and happy. If you want a cool, chill, safe place to do your laundry this is it. Next best thing to Mom's house! And any laundry questions just bring them here! Let the laundry wizards amaze you! ?

I am so happy with my time at the Swish and Swirl. To start, I didn't want or plan on being at the laundromat during my try to California & I don't do much laundry. I am visiting SLO from Dallas and American Airlines ruined my clothes with some sort of chemicals. I walk in and I am immediately greeted by Alex who helps me get started by explaining the cost and directing me to the PayRange App. I didn't have any cash and the App made it all work. I washed the still dirty and wet clothes in the first washer, and they won't come clean. Alex saves the day & gives me a little advice and a bit of help. Viola!! The clothes are clean and I'm on to the dryer. I figured out quickly that the help wasnt just because I'm handsome. It seemed everyone that walks in the door get offered help. I was asked multiple times if I needed anything and this time it was Valerie to the rescue she explained the specialty dryer settings and I was ready to go again. My day started horribly, 60% of what I had brought to wear on my trip was a mess, but a couple of people decided to make a difference. Thanks Swish & Swirl Laundromat. Especially Alex and Valerie!!

Here's
Title: A Disastrous Laundry Day at Swish and Swirl
stars
My recent experience at Swish and Swirl laundromat in San Luis Obispo was nothing short of a nightmare. From the moment I stepped into this establishment, I was bombarded with a series of issues that made me regret my decision to patronize this business.
First and foremost, the laundromat's much-touted pay range app is a complete disaster. As a first-time customer, I was lured in by the promise of convenient, contactless payment options. However, the reality was far from the advertised experience. The app consistently failed to connect with the washing machines, leaving me frustrated and unable to start my laundry cycle. After multiple attempts and wasted time, I had to resort to the archaic coin-operated system, which of course, I wasn't prepared for. This technological failure is inexcusable in this day and age and speaks volumes about the management's lack of attention to customer needs.
But the problems didn't end there. Once I finally managed to start my wash cycle, I encountered another major issue. The app's malfunction apparently extended to the wash and dry cycle control system. Midway through my wash, the machine suddenly stopped, and I was unable to restart it or even open the door to retrieve my soaked clothes. I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time for a staff member to address the problem, all while my laundry sat in a pool of dirty water.
The physical layout and management of the laundromat were equally abysmal. The aisles, which should have been clear for easy navigation, were instead littered with abandoned laundry baskets. It appeared that several customers had deliberately left their baskets in the middle of walkways, creating a hazardous obstacle course for anyone trying to move around. This not only made it difficult to maneuver with my own laundry but also posed a significant safety risk. The fact that staff did nothing to address this issue is a clear indication of their negligence and lack of concern for customer safety and comfort.
The overall cleanliness of the establishment was also questionable. Lint and debris covered many surfaces, and several machines had visible soap scum and stains. The folding tables, which should be a clean space for customers to organize their laundry, were sticky and covered in mysterious stains. It's clear that regular maintenance and cleaning are not a priority at Swish and Swirl.
The air conditioning was also malfunctioning during my visit, turning the already unpleasant experience into a sweltering ordeal. The heat and humidity made the entire space feel stuffy and uncomfortable, exacerbating my frustration with the other issues I encountered.
To add insult to injury, when I attempted to voice my concerns to the staff, I was met with indifference and a lack of professionalism. The employee I spoke with seemed uninterested in addressing any of the issues I raised, offering only shrugs and non-committal responses. This level of customer service is unacceptable and reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.
In conclusion, my experience at Swish and Swirl was a complete disaster from start to finish. The non-functional payment app, the machine malfunctions, the obstacle course of abandoned baskets, the poor cleanliness, and the subpar customer service all contributed to what can only be described as a laundry day from hell. I strongly advise anyone in San Luis Obispo to avoid this establishment at all costs. There are surely better options available that won't leave you with damp clothes, a headache, and a strong desire to never do laundry again. Swish and Swirl needs a complete overhaul of its operations, technology, and customer service approach if it hopes to remain in business. As for me, I'll be taking my laundry elsewhere in the future.

This laundromat is kept really clean. There are plenty of machines unless you go on Sunday…seems to be a very popular laundry day! Run by very nice people.

Alex was a God send and helped me navigate the laundromat and manage getting my laundry done. Not having used a laundromat for many years, I was really happy for her help.to make my experience a lot easier. The facility was neat and clean.
