“I just bought a 2014 VW Jetta TDI from McCarthy's. I had nothing but a great experience, this was the third or fourth car that a member of my family has bought from them in the last 20 years and it was once again a good purchase. I did want to add that although the car salesmen at McCarthy's were friendly and helpful, they are also businessmen and as honest as they are, or appear, they are looking to make a dollar just as much as you are looking to save one. I was really happy with my service and found that the salesmen at McCarthy's are much less pushy than at other car dealerships in town, I was happy to see there was a professional person left in the world of buying and selling a car. All that being said I would be careful before committing to buy anything from them unless you get a breakdown of what the extra fees are. This time, when I bought by diesel Jetta, there were no additional fees other than sales tax and DMV fees, but several years ago I bought a C class Benz from them and they tacked on a $200 box of car cleaning supplies which I could have bought for $75 at Walmart. That being said, good luck buying anything from a dealership these days without some extra fees, which are usually BS. I honestly think that McCarthy's is one of the last places in the area that you can buy a good car, for a good price without a bunch of crazy fees. I have experience with sales and know a salesman when I see one and can usually get by fine when I'm buying something, I would definitely recommend checking McCarthy's out if you are looking for a quality vehicle. I paid $18,300 for my TDI Jetta with 44xxx miles on it, that was $17,000 for the car and $1,300 in taxes and fees. That's really upfront when you go to a dealership these days and I was happy with their customer service.”
