I came to this station at 1:50am to get gas. There was a sign on the door "Be Right Back". So I waited ... and waited ... and waited. Two gas pumps wouldn't read my card, telling me to see cashier. So I waited. When 15 minutes had passed, I started honking. No response. Honked again. No response. A Sheriff who was around the corner came after hearing the honking to see if I needed assistance. I explained that I had, by now, been waiting 25+ minutes - so I asked the Sheriff if maybe he could try to get someone to come to the door, as I thought perhaps the attendant might be in trouble. Several times he knocked on both doors, and even called out "Sheriff's Department". No response. After I had waited a total of 35 minutes, a young girl by the name of Theresa opened the door. I told her that the Sheriff had knocked on the door - thinking something might be wrong with the attendant - and she quipped, with a smug grin on her face "I know. I saw him." This girl was rude and needs to be let go of her duties.AND, a sign on the door advertised American Spirits $9.49 when you buy two packs. I told her about the sign when I saw on the receipt that they were $11.09!! I asked her to honor the posted price. She told me that she can't make changes after items are scanned into the register. I have gone to this gas station for a year now, and this was the first time I've run into situation like this. I got home at 2:30am, tired and very irritated with the unprofessional and rude treatment by this employee. Tomorrow, I intend to talk with the manager about this incident. I'm really upset!! Customers should NOT be treated in this manner!!

Zero recollection of ever being at this place. I assume I got gas, and I assume said gas got me somewhere. If I never got to that place, where would I be now? It's impossible to say. Therefore, 3 stars is beyond fair

This is my Yelp Review of The 76 Gas Station from 2007-2009. It encompasses the same branded gas station across from the other as it is owned by the same manager. In 2007, I stopped by the closest one to the McDonalds. The manager/Clerk asked me for my number. I was thinking it was one of those places/situations where business ask you for their number per an account. Instead, he tears off a small white piece of paper and expects me to write my number down on it. It felt strange...I did it not acknowledge my feelings, and I felt disturbed when he stuffed my number in the Cash Register Drawer like unprotected privacy. I don't know why I could not say this does not feel right. He called me two times. The first time he asked me for the location of a hardware store. I informed him, "They are around." And gave him the name and location of a specific one. That was the end of the call. I felt this burden of ambiguity, and I did not feel buddy-buddy with him. I did not trust the nature of how and why he took my phone number. It was not mutual. The second time he called me, I was in a church service. I was right at the cusp of graduating 8 years of college and feeling the burden of needing to have work, I primed myself that every call is an important call. On the other side of the coin, I felt trapped in a church service that I did not believe I belonged in. I left the meeting room. I took the call not knowing who it was. He asked me for the location of a business again, an automotive place. I informed him, "I left church to take this call. I need to go back to church." He apologized. The call ended. That was also the last time he called. Despite not feeling that church service was the best use of my time, I retrospectively think, church saved me from more calls from him. It does bother me I never got to the point of addressing how him taking my number felt like a violation of privacy, and not understanding why he is calling/targeting me. But the calls were so brief. The Last review, I was in the area needing to get gas for my car. I chose the 76 opposite the 76 that I believed he worked at thinking, He is at that gas station. I won't be bothered by him. I was wrong. As I am at the pump, he approaches me. He tells me, "I have a car I am selling." And he insists that I go with him to look at the car. The car I drive was not my car to sell, and I informed him, "It is not mine to sell." Translation I am not in the market for buying a car. He dismisses what I said. And persists in having me go with him. Word of warning, there was no car. If there was, I would have seen it in plain view which would have created a sense of trust. At this point in the conversation, I feared for my safety as a woman that he was making me go over with him to a car. Per wisdom, I stood my ground literally. He insisted a third time and walked off. In a state of hurry, and stress, I got my gas and left. I no longer can get gas here out of fear the manager will bother me/won't leave me alone. If you are a woman or girl, I advise not to go here. If you are looking for a good gas station in San Marcos, I recommend the Shell Gas Station across from San Marcos High School. A business like this, I can't give stars to. I am only giving a star because it is required to in order to submit my review.

I left my sunglasses here and Donna kept them safe for me until I could retrieve them. So nice to know that there are still honest good people left in the world. I am eternally grateful, thank you Donna!

Horrible customer service. Gas station clerk is outwardly rude. I will never go back. 2nd time this has happened. I went to this gas station a few times a week for the last 20 years. No more. Never again.

The location is convenient but I walked in to buy a few things and pay for gas the attendant was leaned over watching her phone and was not wearing a mask and not sure if she knows we are in a pandemic
