Had a checking and savings account with SDCCU for about 4 years. Cancelled both of my accounts recently due to an awful banking system. Their infrastructure is crumbling yet their ceo is taking home huge bonuses. Yet, Their mobile app straight up doesn’t work at random hours, which is extremely inconvenient for folks who work late shifts or need an emergency like gas, food water etc. it’s a joke.the User interface for the app is also ancient. You’d think with their $18 million in overdraft fees they collected they could afford to make an app that actually works. Face ID unlock broken for all iPhone users, such a trivial bug and it’s still not fixed even years of them finding out about it? Sad.The staff is friendly enough, but that was not enough to keep banking with them. Over all, it’s exhausting to bank with SDCCU. I’ve opened an account somewhere else and am enjoying all the benefits they provide. you’d be better off going somewhere else I promise.

Unbelievable this bank is requiring their employees to mask. Mandating a product that has been shown ineffective in preventing community spread. Utterly disgusted at seeing this today. One employee even commented on how difficult it is to communicate with mask on. T

Absolutely exceptional customer service from Courtney. Helped me cancel my lost card and order one in house quickly and painlessly. Super friendly and helpful and you normally don't get that bank tellers. Thanks Courtney!

Always had a great experience there. Everyone is thorough and polite. They are helpful and guided our young kids regarding opening an account and the steps one should take to be mindful financially.

Whoever was working the front desk was super nice and professional. Making sure to greet and say a farewell to every member that wakes in. Didn't catch his name but he has piercings and a little blonde in his hair. Reading some of the other comments about people's attitudes is ridiculous. These employees deal with ridiculous requests every day and even nastier attitudes. How they present themselves is professional and job well done.

*Astonished* by all the low reviews - but can understand when it's a personal experience gone wrong - especially during COVID! However, my experience so far has been positive at all locations (mainly visit San Marcos and Oceanside). SDCCU offers unique services for their members such as FREE annual Shred-It event. You can bring up to 2 boxes of paper only documents to shred. They are in constant communication with members to help avoid SCAMS of all kind. Awareness and education to the many scams going on helps to avoid being the next victim! Do expect wait times, it's a challenging time for any business, no reason that has to exclude banks. Great service, always feel welcome when visiting here which isn't often. Moved from Wells Fargo after 35 years of only banking with them, and feel relieved to have moved away from a corporate bank with high fees and less than desirable customer service. Having all my accounts here is convenient. The auto loan I set up with them last year is the best rate I've had... ever! Of course, it doesn't hurt to have a good credit score, and took me years to reach that point where you see the benefit of keeping it in good standing. This location is understandably busy, so you have to find the best times to visit. Parking is convenient at this location compared to the one in Oceanside.

We tried twice to open a trust account at this credit union. First we were told that the trust documents didn't spell out that 2 trustees could do that. We had to contact the lawyer who clarified we could indeed. Lawyer is 500 an hour. We went back today and they ran our credit. Mine showed someone else social on there. They would not tell me the number. We couldn't open the account due to that problem. I ran my credit and my mom's stuff is on there. I don't know how they won best credit union. Must be staff and family voting. Pick another credit union is my best recommendation

Very unfriendly place. Night and day compared to Felicita. They are very friendly there. Manager at Felicita Escondido is always smiling and friendly. This place always has a stinky attitude. Tellers are nasty. Mine just gave me the money and looked away and said nothing. She had attitude from beginning. I can't stand San marcos branch. They stink. .

Been banking with SDCCU for over a decade.. and wow have they gone downhill since covid hit. Not only employee turnover.. They lost a lot of customers recently over their mask enforcement tactics and now they lost me over discrimination against my vision. The same prescription sunglasses I've worn in there for 10 years, I was told not only by security twice to remove them, but then the teller and finally a manager backed down when I said I didn't have a problem removing them for identification but I have to wear them because I literally can't see without them. Absolutely absurd. SDCCU has people wearing glasses.. telling a customer not to wear his glasses.

I can not go to a location due to long term illness. I have been on wait once again. This time I am still on wait and it has been 1hour and 03 minutes and still no representative. I will be moving to another credit union as soon as my certificates mature. This is horrible! Go somewhere else if you want service at anytime.

I will be taking my business to Chase after todays visit. The security guard told my wife and I to remove our hats from our heads and so we respectfully did. The guy in the center desk said in front of us, "if they don't like the rules the. They should get out of here" Ok guy, your wish is our command, we will be investing our money elsewhere.

Used to really like this bank but it has really gone down hill. Closed my account without notice for a negative balance due to them not declining my card. Or even notifying me of the situation. Zero stars.

Walked in to check SDCCU after reading the negative yelp reviews. I was welcomed and met with a customer service representative immediately! "Wendy" explained all the credit union services. Then she helped me set up a checking and savings account as well as a safety deposit box. Stellar service.
